A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course in Bachelor of Science – Data Science, shall have passed XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates.
AND
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology / Electrical, Electronics & Video Engineering and Allied Branches/ Mechanical and Allied branches, Civil and Allied branches of Engineering after S.S.C. (Xth standard) are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc. (D.S.) degree course. However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government body. Minimum marks required 45% aggregate for open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.
OR
Students with post HSC - Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology and Allied Branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc. (D.S.) However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government body.
3 Years - 6 Semesters
B.Sc. DS is the stepping stone for every young student who aspires for a successful career in Data Analytics. This course focuses on subjects like Data Analysis, Analytics using Excel, , Programming languages like R-Programming and Python Programming, Software Engineering, Databases, SQL/PLSQL, Software project management, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, and Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark etc. A broad and flexible programme that provides the freedom to choose from an extremely wide range of DS topics.
This course equips the students with skills that are in high demand from Data Analytics industry.
Objective: The main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between subjects studied at Pre-university level and subjects they would be studying at undergraduate level of information technology.
I. Theory Paper :
a. Max Marks = External (60 Marks)
b. Internal = 40 Marks
c. Passing Marks = 40%
II. Semester five & six have a project work of 50 and 150 marks respectively. The assessment of the project work is as under :
i. Sem V Project Viva & Partial Implementation = 50 Marks
ii. Sem VI Project Implementation, Viva-voice & Presentation = 150 Marks
III. Attendance: The Students are required to have 75% attendance in each paper at the end of Semester each semester.
