Workshop on Data Analysis
To celebrate National Statistics Day, the Department organized a Workshop on Data Analysis on 27/06/2025 in Lab 504. The session was conducted by Dr. Sakharam Muley, Assistant Professor, who provided hands-on training in basic and intermediate data analysis techniques. A total of 42 learners from T.Y. B.Sc. and M.Sc. actively participated in the workshop. The session aimed to enhance statistical thinking, data interpretation skills, and analytical capabilities among students.
Aptitude Test
To improve quantitative and logical reasoning of learners of Science & Commerce, the Department of Mathematics & Statistics conducted the Aptitude test on 24th July 2025, at Seminar Hall. A total of 380 participants participated in this event. Eight learners were declared winners.

Aptitude Test
An Aptitude Test was conducted to assess the analytical, numerical and logical reasoning abilities of the participants. The test was held on 4th December, 2025 in the 1st Floor Seminar Hall, with a total of 565 students appearing. The examination consisted of sections on quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, numerical ability and verbal comprehension, designed to evaluate the students’ problem-solving skills and time-management abilities.

Ramanujan Week (Reminiscing 1729)
To commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan a series of academic and co-curricular activities was organised on 5th and 6th January 2026 which was aimed at promoting mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills and career awareness among students.
The celebrations began with a Guest Lecture on Career Guidance, delivered by Ms. Sujata Sen Bhomick, Assistant Professor, TCET. The lecture provided students with valuable guidance on career opportunities in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science and allied fields. The session was highly informative and well received, with an enthusiastic participation of 344 students, reflecting strong interest in career planning and professional development.
Following the guest lecture, students actively participated in intellectually stimulating activities such as Sudoku, Crossword, and Quiz competitions. These activities were designed to enhance logical reasoning, analytical ability and subject knowledge in an engaging and interactive manner. A total of 151 students participated in the Sudoku and Crossword competitions, while 70 students took part in the Quiz competition.
On the subsequent day, a Treasure Hunt was organized as part of the celebrations. This activity encouraged teamwork, critical thinking and the practical application of mathematical concepts. The event witnessed active involvement from 71 participants, who displayed enthusiasm, coordination and problem-solving skills throughout the activity.

An Online Quiz on several environmental issues like biodiversity, geography, wildlife conservation, pollution, global warming etc. was conducted for deepening the understanding on these crucial issues on 27/02/2026.
Outcome: Students gain better understanding of important topics such as biodiversity, wildlife conservation, pollution, climate change, global warming, and sustainable practices.

Data Analysis Competition on Poverty
A Data Analysis competition was organised on ‘Poverty’. This competition was organized for the UG level learners on 05.02.2026. Learners had to collect secondary data on poverty of any state in India, carry out an analysis and give their interpretation or conclusion on their collected and analysed data with the help of various statistical tools and graphs. There were 345 participants who performed the analysis step by step and interpreted their results with logical conclusions and specific arguments.

Guest lecture on Gender Sensitization
Organized a Workshop on Gender Sensitization on 30th January 2026 in the Seminar Hall. The workshop aimed to create awareness about gender inclusion, equality, acceptance, and respectful coexistence in academic and social spaces.
The session was conducted by esteemed speakers from The Humsafar Trust: Karen Coelho (They/Them) – Advocacy Officer and Sumi M.K. (She/Her) – Officer – Advocacy.
The speakers delivered an insightful and engaging session focusing on gender diversity, inclusion, identity, and acceptance. They explained key concepts such as gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, myths and misconceptions related to the LGBTQIA+ community. The session emphasized building safe and inclusive environments in educational institutions and workplaces.

Guest Lecture
A guest lecture was conducted on 13th September, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Auditorium (7th Floor). The theme was “Together for Tomorrow: Ek Bharat Hum Bharat” and Anuradha Bhatkar, B.E. Computer Science, MBA Operations, MSc. Counselling was the speaker. The objective of the session was to highlight the significance of unity, cultural integration and collective responsibility in building a stronger nation. 436 Degree College learners participated in this guest lecture.
(Events under NATIONAL INTEGRATION)
Bhasha Diwas Language Quiz Competition was organized on 8th December, 2025 to celebrate India’s linguistic diversity and to promote awareness about the rich heritage of Indian languages. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 1590 students across various classes, who showcased their knowledge on topics such as the origin of Indian languages, famous literary works, eminent authors and language-based cultural traditions. Participants displayed commendable work, quick thinking and deep understanding of the subject.
Outcome: The competition succeeded in fostering linguistic pride and encouraging students to value and preserve India’s multilingual identity. The quiz encouraged them to explore the origins, evolution and significance of various Indian languages, thereby enhancing their general knowledge and appreciation for multilingualism.

Ms. Suchandana Dutta was invited as a Resource Person for a Guest Lecture on “Research Methodology” organized by Kapol Vidhyanidhi College of Commerce, Mumbai, on 28th July, 2025.

1. Ms. Rituparna Choudhary attended a one-day faculty development program for educators on 20th November 2025 in RKM Khar.
2. Ms. Suchandana Dutta has successfully completed the National Level Online “NEP-2020 Orientation & Sensitization Programme” organised through Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC_MMTTC), SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai from January 15-23, 2026 and obtained Grade O.
3. Dr. Neeta Jain, Rituparna Choudhary participated in international colloquium organized by department of Chemistry and Department of Zoology of TCSC on 3rd February 2026.

Ms. Rituparna Choudhary Registered a Design Patent under the Designs Act, 2000 (India) for her innovative work titled “DIGITAL DISPLAY FOR TIMETABLE MANAGEMENT.” The design has been officially registered with the Intellectual Property Office, Government of India, bearing Design Registration No. 471357-001, with the date of registration as 14 February 2025 and application date 27 August 2025, in accordance with the Designs Act, 2000 and Designs Rules, 2001.
Ms. Rituparna Choudhary participated and presented a paper called “Classroom Timetable Optimization using Mathematical Models- A review” at the National conference “Viksit Bharat @2047 A Self-Reliant and Prosperous Economy” organized by Department of accountancy, international accounting and honours in collaboration with IQSC and University of Mumbai on 13tth December 2025.Paper is published in peer reviewed journal “. The presented paper is published in peer reviewed journal called as IJAIR.
Rituparna Choudhary participated and presented a paper titled “Deriving, solving and efficiency measuring an ILP model for a Company Project Investment Policy” in a conference called Frontiers of Sustainability – Global Responsibility for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (FOS 2026 – GRIE)! on 22 – 24th January 2026. The same paper is accepted and will be published in Scopus Indexed Springer proceedings.

Mr. Alok Ranjan Mishra co-authored a paper titled “Design and Implementation of a Secure Cloud Storage Protocol for Encrypted Systems” in the International Conference on Next Generation Cloud Innovations (NEXGCI-2025) on September 11th & 12th, 2025, organized by the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Technology (SCSET), Bennett University, Greater Noida, India.
Ms. Suchandana Dutta guided a Research Project titled “Work-Life Balance Expectations of College Students Preparing for Corporate Careers” which was selected for the Zonal Round in 20th Aavishkar : Inter-Collegiate / Institute / Department Research Convention under the category of Commerce, Management and Law in UG level organised by the University of Mumbai at Bhanumati Kishandas Shroff College of Arts and Maganlal Hargovinddas Shroff College of Commerce, Kandivali, Mumbai (Autonomous) on December 5, 2025 for Zone III (Mumbai III).
Ms. Suchandana Dutta presented a paper titled “Adoption of Circular Economy Strategies for Waste Reduction and Resource Efficiency in Kanjurmarg, Eastern Suburbs of Mumbai” and awarded the Best Paper Award in at the National conference “Viksit Bharat @2047 A Self-Reliant and Prosperous Economy” organized by Department of Accountancy, International Accounting and Honours in collaboration with IQAC and University of Mumbai on 13th December, 2025.
