Report: Workshop on Microsoft Power BI

1. Introduction
An 8-hour workshop on Microsoft Power BI was conducted with the objective of equipping participants with fundamental and intermediate skills in data visualization, business intelligence, and dashboard creation. The workshop was designed to provide hands-on experience and practical insights into transforming raw data into meaningful reports.
2. Objectives of the Workshop
To introduce participants to the Power BI interface and ecosystem
To develop skills in data import, cleaning, and transformation
To enable creation of interactive dashboards and reports
To understand basic data modeling and relationships
To familiarize participants with data visualization best practices
3. Workshop Structure
The workshop was divided into 3 hours session for two days and two hour session for one day.
4. Methodology
The workshop followed a practical, hands-on approach. Each concept was demonstrated live, followed by exercises where participants worked on sample datasets. Real-world scenarios were used to enhance understanding. The workshop was held in computer lab number 504.

Introduction
To make students aware of the entrepreneurial opportunities in the area of ecommerce, the department of Mcom(Ecommerce) & Service Industry Management invited one of the alumni of MCom(ecommerce) Mr Rohit Pawar for an interaction with the students. Rohit Pawar is himself a successful entrepreneur employing people in his organisation. The session aimed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical realities of the digital marketplace.
2. Objectives
The primary goals of this initiative were:
To inform students about the possibilities of entrepreneurship in the area of ecommerce.
To bring an active example in front of the students to emulate.
To make them aware of different schemes to collect capital.
3. Outcomes and Impact
Many students are exploring entrepreneurship as full time engagement. They realised the importance of continuous learning through certifications (Google Analytics, SEO). They also realised the importance of Leveraging alumni networks and LinkedIn for mentorship.
4. Conclusion
Guest lecture was received with loud applause as students got all their fear and insecurities addressed by their own alumni. Detailed story of his own journey inspired many and few of them started contemplating entrepreneurship as career option. They also got a clear view of the "end-to-end" business model.
Report: Tree Plantation Drive 2025-2026

1. Introduction
In response to the growing need for urban reforestation and to instil sensitivity among students towards the environment, Department of MCom(Ecommerce) and Service Industry Management conducted Tree Plantation Drive. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all the students who bought trees for planting thus reflecting commitment to a greener future.
2. Objectives
The primary goals of this initiative were:
Carbon Control: To mitigate local carbon emissions by planting saplings.
Biodiversity Restoration: To create local ecosystem by providing habitats for indigenous birds and insects.
Community Engagement: To foster environmental consciousness and "green ownership" among citizens.
Soil Conservation: To prevent soil erosion in the peripheral zones of the park.
3. Outcomes and Impact
The drive ensured green commitment from its members. It also made learners gain practical experience of planting and watering the trees. This build responsibility and make them sensitive towards the environment.
4. Conclusion
The Tree Plantation Drive was more than a symbolic gesture; it was a tangible step toward environmental sustainability.
Report: Poster making using CANVA on Gender equity

1. Introduction
A poster making competition was organized on the occasion of a Gender Equity event, aiming to promote awareness and creativity among participants. The competition encouraged individuals to express their perspectives on gender equity through visually impactful posters using Canva.
2. Objectives of the Competition
To raise awareness about gender equity and social inclusion
To provide a platform for creative expression
To enhance digital design skills using Canva
To encourage participants to convey meaningful messages through visuals
Outcome and impact
The central theme of the event was “Gender Equity: Equal Opportunities for All.” Participants were encouraged to explore sub-themes such as empowerment, equality in education, workplace fairness, and breaking gender stereotypes. All students were encouraged to participate. Many students participated and made the posters. Student were sensitised about gender discrimination and need for gender equality for a healthy society.

Wide variety of creative and thought-provoking posters were made by the learners.
Learners were exposed to innovative and creative use of Canva tools and templates
Strong messages promoting equality, respect, and inclusivity was witnessed.

Industrial Visit Report: Navneet Education Limited

Participants: students of MCom(Ecommerce) and Service Industry Management
Objective: To study the end-to-end supply chain and logistics framework of a high-volume stationery and publication leader.
1. Introduction
The industrial visit to Navneet Education Ltd. provided a comprehensive look at how a legacy brand manages a massive SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) count. The visit specifically focused on the Logistics and Supply Chain mechanisms of the company.
Objective
To acquaint students with the raw material sourcing and streamlined material handling system practiced in the organisation.
Students should be made aware of the last mile connectivity between the manufacturer and the retailer.
Outcome and impact
In the introduction made by Navneet, their representative mentioned that the company operates through a robust network of centralized offices in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, supporting 1,200+ distributors.
The students became aware of the transition from regional distribution centers to over 46,000 retailers in 1,100+ towns which demonstrated a sophisticated secondary distribution strategy used by the organisation.
4. Conclusion
The visit to the Navneet factory served as a practical masterclass in Large-Scale Operations. It demonstrated that for a stationery giant, success is not just about the quality of the print, but the efficiency of the move—getting the right book to the right student at the right time.
