Event : Participative Learning Workshop

With an objective to sharpen the skills of group discussion, team spirit, presentation, and practical learning  on the subject of commodity markets of the third year learners the department organized a participative learning activity. The learners were  divided into separate groups and given separate topics related to current affairs in commodity markets. Each group discussed their topics and presented before other groups. To increase the excitement the activity was gamified by providing point on their performance by the supervising faculty.

Outcome : Learners were deeply engrossed in the discussion and asked questions beyond the syllabus.


Event : Public Speaking activity

With an objective to enhance the public speaking capacity of the outgoing learners of the department, a public speaking activity was conducted in which the learners were given hands on training on different topics. They were taught the nuances of public speaking and encouraged to apply them in front of the entire class. 



Event : Educational visit to MCX, India’s most important commodity exchange

Date : 11.07.2025

With an objective to provide the learners an experiential learning opportunity, and deepen the industry institute connect the department arranged an educational visit to Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),  the world’s 7th largest commodity exchange and India’s largest by value. The learners experienced a feel of the exchange, which they learn in their syllabus, derivatives, commodity market functioning in the exchange in a practical manner. The participation was interactive and learners were excited by this visit. 

Outcome : As an instance of deepening industry connect, Mr Saurav Khanna, from MCX  visited in our college to participate in the panel discussion. The learners were able to understand the concepts and reproduce it in their subsequent exams.

The department of Investment Management believes in maintaining a strong bond between the learners even after they have successfully passed out of the institution. The illustrious alumni was invited to give a academic counselling talk on how to pass the NISM exams, CFA, skills they need to master. The third year learners were benefitted by the same. 

Outcome : Fenil Shah has appeared for NISM (Series V)




Event : Antar Prerna – An event on entrepreneurship

With an objective to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship especially among girls, the department carried ahead with legacy of organizing the event on women entrepreneurship. The women entrepreneurs who had been successful but had risen from humble backgrounds were invited to speak on their journey and enthuse the young learners to take up entrepreneurship as their profession. The event ended with a Q & A session. To attach an uniqueness, the event was entirely organized by the girl learners of the department.

The department of Investment Management  organized its premier event of department distinctiveness  tiled Contrarian in which industry experts from Commodity markets, mutual fund managers, Equity markets converged at the college to participate in two panel discussions on the Themes: 1. Navigating investment through current crosswindz    2.  VIKSIT BHARAT 2047: clearing the mist for the youth. The panel discussions were moderated by learners of the department. Leraners from the entire college was the audience. It was an academia industry connect with the faculties participating from the audience. The resource persons praised the initiative and promised to take part in previous sessions to help learners get an industry exposure.

With an objective to sensitise learners about workplace ethics, gender sensetisation and POSH Act the department carried out a guest lecture on gender equity. The speaker eloquently interacted with the learners and explained the importance of the topic in days to come.




Event : Advance Excel workshop for BIM learners

Knowledge of MS – Excel is becoming a necessity and basic skill for learners in the domain of finance. With an objective to enhance the skill of learners in MS -Excel and advanced operations of excel the department of Investment Management organized an workshop wherein learners were shown how they may use MS -Excel for different functions related to finance. The learners learnt the different perspectives in which the different formulae may be used and live finance related problems were discussed. The learners found it to be very fruitful and engaging.

The finance carreer is not limited to analysists only. A new carreer option of finance reporters and presentations in TV is opening up. The anchors are needed to be well versed in the nuances of finance and current affairs. Also adding innovativeness and an element of fun makes the learning process better and interesting. Learners were taught by expert teachers about the elements of shooting a video. It was designed that the learners will be shooting their own finance and investment related videos and post in the social media. Towards that objective in mind, the department organised a hands on workshop on video making




Event : Voluntary Services activity 

Nature of the event : Visit to an old age home and spend time with the old aged residents

Venue : Vimaltidevi Old Age Home, Gorai, Borivali


With an objective to inculcate the habit of giving for the society, develop a deep sense of respect for the elders and gift to the elders of the old aged home a quality time and happiness the department organised a visit to the old aged home by the learners. The learners felt a sense of happiness and content by giving their time and was equally matched by the happinees of the residents of the old age home.





Event Name: FIMMDA VISIT

Nature of Activity: Educational visit

FIMMDA (Fixed Income Money Markets and Derivatives Association of India) is the apex body for fixed income markets. The learners of Investment Management are learning about Fixed Income Markets in first and second year. With an objective to enhance their understanding and provide an experiential learning opportunity, a visit to FIMMDA was organised on 11th Dec 2025. The learners were greeted by the Deputy CEO Mr P Dasgupta and a session was addressed by him. There was a tour of the FIMMDA office and an interaction with the CEO of FIMMDA. The learners were enthused by the experience of the corporate office and working of the organisation of which they have learned.




Event Name: Comquest’25 Commodity Investment Awareness Quiz

Nature of the activity: Online quiz on Commodities for finance students of Degree College

In association with: MCX, world’s 7th largest exchange

In line with the objectives of learning of different forms of  investment, the department of Investment Management organised an awareness building quiz on commodity investing, It was conducted in association with MCX, India’s largest Commodity exchange and world’s 7th largest, organised an online quiz for the learners of degree college who are learning finance. The level varied from easy to medium and through the quiz imbibed in the  learners an interest for investing in commodities.

With an objective to increase academia industry contact and provide the learners a practical aspect of theoretical knowledge, the department organised a guest lecture wherein Mr Harish Sharma, an expert in the field of derivatives engaged the learners in simplifying the concepts of derivatives and increasing their grasp over the subjects, especially derivatives and risk management. It acted as a value addition to the theoretical knowledge being taught at the lectures.



Event Name: Investment Roadmap

Nature of Activity: Department annual fest

Date: 19th & 20th Jan 2026

With an objective to foster contributory learning, the department organised its annual fest, Investment Roadmap with the theme Wealth Matrix. The event was inaugurated with a panel discussion between industry experts on the skills required from the learners to increase employability. It was an  intercollegiate fest with 159 participants from different colleges and different departments of the our college participating across 19 sub events spanning from sports, cooking, investment planning, quiz, debates and a plethora of cultural events. The learners of the department actively contributed to the success and in turn learning about marketing, planning, organising, problem solving, team work, and intermingling with learners from different colleges. The success of the event was due to the inclusive, coordinated hardwork of the learners.



Event Name: Roadmap to CFA and Investment Banker

Nature of Activity: Career Counselling Session for Investment Management Learners

With the objective of guiding learners about professional career paths in the field of finance, particularly focusing on the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme and investment banking. Mr. Neeraj Singh from M/s Imarticus. He started by explaining importance of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification, its global recognition, The speaker also highlighted how the learners of BIM have a natural advantage in passing successfully, considering the current NEP syllabus. The session helped learners gain clarity about CFA, investment banking, and related career paths. Students developed a better understanding of industry requirements and the importance of professional certifications in building a strong career in finance.

In line with the postulates of investment management, review of investment is equally important for financial planning. With an objective to provide learners an overview and experiential learning environment, the department organised a workshop where theoretical knowledge was supplemented by the industry expert who is involved in investment advising in real life. The faculties participated in the interaction regarding their investment review and it gave the learners an opportunity to learn more.

With an objective to sharpen skills in learning MS Excel by the learners of FYBIM and provide them an experiential learning environment, the department in association with Raj Computers organised a skill development workshop. The learners were provided a competitive environment wherein the syllabus was taught with the help of live examples. The learners were provided computers in the lab and exercises were given after explaining the concepts. A short test was conducted after every concept revision.

Nature of Activity: Guest lecture on AI in Finance

With an objective to appraise the learners of the strides in AI and the digital world the department organised a guest lecture where the speaker spoke on AI . The speaker engaged the learners in an interactive discussion. The learners were told about the impact of AI on financial carreers and the future landscape of the digital domain.




Experiential Learning Workshops


  1. Course : Mutual Fund Management

As part of the Investment Management course, students were divided into small groups (3-5 members each). Each group was tasked with selecting one mutual fund company from the Indian financial market. After conducting detailed research, they were required to prepare and deliver a short presentation addressing the following aspects:



  •  Overview of the chosen mutual fund company

  •  Types of mutual funds offered

  •  Fund performance over recent years

  •  Key USPs or differentiators of the company

  •  Why an investor should consider investing in their selected mutual fund

  •  Risk factors and investment suitability for various investor profiles



  1. Course : Equity Research, Investment and Wealth Management


To make the learning fun, the department asked the learners to make a video of themselves talking on any topic of their choice but withing the syllabus. It was implied that the learners will be using the AI tools. It was said to the learners that the video needs to be of 1 minute duration. When the learners were making the video, they were conscious of how they will be looking. They had to gather lot of resources, prepare the script , reharse and then present.

This in turn made them go through their syllabus, gather information both from outside and note/books and were looking confident before the camera. 

The learners were also encouraged to post their write ups and videos on BIM social media eg Instagram, LinkedIn, etc

  1. Personal Financial Planning

A group of learners made a video on personal financial planning, focusing on retirement planning.

Students gathered information through notes, reference books, watching short videos of famous influencer and the videos was made as per convenience of learners and they were going to explain and present in the classroom.



  1. Venture Capital

A group of learners made a podcast on venture capital, specifically focusing on how a venture capital ecosystem has boosted a startup culture that leads to contribution towards to Indian economy.

Students gathered information through journals, notes, reference books, watching podcast of famous influencer about venture capital and start up trend and the podcast will be made and going to shoot in the classroom without takes.

  1. Dhruvi Bikhwal (TYBIM) is the founder of Avaya Silvers in which she designs and manufactures silver jewellery, her sister being the other cofounder. 


  1. Aman Bhuria (TYBIM) is the cofounder of the start up MAID HAI, in which they are providing maid servant services on a monthly contractual basis. 


  1. Sanskar Singh (SYBIM), is the founder of Power Bond, manufacturing industrial adhesives and having future plans to expand into retail sector.


  1. Pruthvi Chowdhary (FYBIM) is the founder of Nailluxury, spexialising in manaking of artificial nail pressos and nail decoration.
