BFM Department intends to promote a balanced skilled set, with intrigued ability to make the learners to understand better investment trends, financial market mechanisms and investor behavioural patterns that shape the decision-making and performance of our economy in generally. The Department has a regular student publication “The Finacle: Beyond Bulls and Bears” which enables the budding writers to put forward their opinion on matters concerning the world of Finance.
UTI Mutual Fund project FLY (Financial Literacy for Youth): STEP
on 20th June 2025, department organized session aimed at educating students about financial literacy, savings, investment, and market regulations. The session was led by expert speakers Mrs. Nidhi Mehta and Mr. Prem Upadhyay, Business Developer at Skillspade Learning Solution The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 193 students. The event concluded successfully, leaving students with practical knowledge and awareness of financial planning.
Alumni Interaction: STEP
on 2nd July, 2025 department organized alumni interactive session were two distinguished alumni Ms. Medha Rawal, (a French language educator and Language Assistant in France), and Mr. Parth Mahajan, (a Finance professional currently working in fundraising and investor relations at Integrow Asset Management.) came and interact with 144 learners. Ms. Rawal shared her inspiring journey of transitioning from a finance background into the field of languages. She spoke about her passion for French, her role in teaching students across various boards, and her current experience in France promoting intercultural exchange. Her session emphasized following one's passion, upskilling, and the value of global exposure. Mr. Mahajan brought valuable insights into the financial sector, having worked with organizations like HSBC UK, American Express, and now at Integrow. He highlighted the role of networking, certifications like SEBI XIX-A, and adapting to global financial trends.
Career Opportunities in BFSI sector: STEP
on 10th July, 2025 Dept. of BFM along with Dept. of BBI and BIM organized a guest lecture on “Career Opportunities in BFSI sector” which was headed by Mr. Aman Chawla – Founder of FinSarthi with his wide knowledge and experience who guided almost 264 learners about different career options in Banking, Finance, Investment and Insurance sector in India and abroad.
RBI Monetary Museum visit: STEP
on 27th July 2025 department of BFM organized an academic visit to the RBI Monetary Museum, Mumbai. A total of 86 students actively participated in this educational visit. The Monetary Museum, established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of money and banking in India. The exhibits included ancient coins, paper currency, financial instruments, and detailed information on the history of monetary policy in the country.
"National Integration – Know Your Country"
On 13th August, 2025 The Department of BFM/BBI/BIM successfully organized the event "National Integration – Know Your Country", with the aim of promoting unity in diversity and spreading awareness about India’s rich cultural heritage. A total of 14 teams representing different states participated, with 56 enthusiastic students showcasing their talents. Each team presented various features, history, and cultural aspects of their respective states through engaging PowerPoint presentations. They also shared captivating videos displaying the natural beauty and unique traditions of their chosen states. The competition was intense and informative, reflecting the diversity and unity of India.
Learning Art of Equity Research and Portfolio Management: STEP
On 18th September 2025 The Department organized an insightful seminar on “Learning Art of Equity Research and Portfolio Management” conducted by Mr. Shivanshu Singh, Head of Research & Wealth Management at ACA Wealth Pvt. Ltd., who is a renowned expert in financial markets and investment strategies. The session was attended by 116 students, all eager to gain a practical understanding of how equity research forms the foundation of successful portfolio management.
CryptStock Quest: STEP
On 23rd September 2025 department organized virtual trading event “CryptStock Quest”. aimed to give students hands-on experience of market dynamics by simulating real-time trading conditions, thereby bridging theoretical knowledge with practical decision-making. A total of 448 participants including participants from 12 colleges, participated enthusiastically. The central task was to build a portfolio and trade based on news updates provided during the event.
FINSTREET 2026: STEP
On 23rd and 24th January 2026 department organized An inter collegiate financial event “Finstreet 2026”, a high-impact two-day financial event that brought together 233 enthusiastic participants from over 21 colleges. Designed to bridge the gap between theoretical finance and practical application, the event offered a blend of strategic competitions, analytical challenges, and immersive learning experiences for aspiring finance professionals. The event commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony, graced by our esteemed chief guests and sponsors from SAHI – Options and Stock Trading App Mr. Aryaman, Product and Brand Manager; Mr. Varad, Brand Operations Associate; Mr. Pratyush, Community Manager; and Mr. Shubham, Software Engineer. The inauguration was further honored by the presence of Dr. Anita Stalin from the International Lean Six Sigma Institute. The guests shared valuable insights on modern trading platforms, financial technology, skill enhancement, and career growth in the finance domain, setting an inspiring tone for the event.
