  1. A Social Activity 'Prayas' Conducted on 23rdJune, 2022 at Samta Vidyamandir.

18 Students of TY and SY B.Com along with two teachers Miss. Harshada Mhatre and Miss.Shakibaa Merchant visited Samta Vidyamandir, the main aim of the activity was creating awareness of Covid precautions during monsoon season.

2.  A Guest Lecture on Success through Scriptures – Indian values was conducted by Mr. Aditya Shastri (Modern Monk and Ed-Tech Manager) on 12th July, 2022. The Aim of This guest lecture was to Build Foundation of Lifelong Learning and Citizenship. Mr. Aditya Shastri enlightened the participants on our Scriptures which can lead students on path of happiness and success. Total 298 students has Participated.

3. An Intercollegiate Event AD-MAD “Where Creativity Meets Madness” on 26thJuly, 2022 for all Learners of TCSC and Other Colleges Students. Total 193 Participants Teams (Individual and Group) and Total: 401 Students participated in this Event. Aim of the Event was to enhance aptitude for marketing a certain brand or product and they are also tested how well they know about it.

In Ad-Mad Event there were 4 sub events namely:

2) Mind Blender 

3) Snippets 

4) Buzz Track 

5) The Final Flash.

4. Thakur College of Science and Commerce had organized Tri-Colour Suraksha Bandhan on 11th August 2022 for the Government officials who work day and night to protect the citizens of the country regardless to be worried about their own lives and family problems. The students went to the Fire brigade, the Police station, Bus depot and Post office, Hospital, and BMC office and tied Rakhi to them as a symbol of love and affection shown towards them for their dedication and hard work. This initiative was led by Department of Commerce and Chemistry along with Cultural Committee.

5. An exclusive Brazilian Jiu Jistu based Self Defense workshop was organized in association with One Punch MMA on 24th August 2022. Workshop was only for degree college female students. 87 female students registered for the workshop.50 students (only girls) attended the workshop. The Aim of Workshop was to train the Female students about simple moves for self defense and to impart practical knowledge of self defense.

6. A Social Activity 'Prayas' Conducted on 26 Th August 22 at Samta Vidyamandir. 

17 Students of TY and SY B.Com along with two teachers Dr Manju Singhania and Miss. Kiran Mahapatra visited Samta Vidyamandir, the main aim of the activity was creating Confidence among Students to showcase their talent without any fear or shyness.


7. Silent Rally on Conservation and Protection of  Environment conducted  on 20th September 2022.Total 210 Students have attendant this rally. The aim of this Activity was to enhance understanding of Protection and Conservation of Environment, to Create Awareness among Students about Conservation of Environment and to Enhance Knowledge about importance of Protection of Environment. All students gained knowledge through the medium of posters why it is important to conserve and protect the Environment.




8. Guest lecture on Hypertension in association with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals conducted on 22nd September 2022, addressed by Dr. Rajesh Advani (Renowned Physician). The aim of this Guest lecture to enhance understanding of Epidemiology of Hypertension, to Create Awareness among Students about importance of Blood Pressure Control and to Enhance Knowledge about Management of Hypertension. Total 323 students attended this session. 


9. Government of India declared 15th November 2022 as “ Janjatiya Gaurav diwas” on the Birth Anniversary of “ Bhagwan Birsa Munda and to Celebrate this occasion and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, organized PPT Making and Awareness Competition on 19th November 2022 as per UGC Guidelines. The Judges for the Event were Pratibha Chiploonkar, Founder of Yashashi Foundation Social Activist and Prof. Bharati Unni , Retired Prof. Department of Geography, Ex Coordinator of NSS, Social Activist. The aim of this Competition was to Celebrate Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, to Create Awareness among Students about Different Tribes of India and to Enhance PPT making and Presentation Skills among Students. Overall 295 students participated in this event and enjoyed this event by gaining knowledge on Different tribes     of India.


10. A Social Activity ‘Discipline’                conducted on 19th November 22 at Samta Vidyamandir. 09 Students of S.Y.Bcom and T.Y.Bcom  along with Dr.Manju Singhania and Dr. Deepa Jamindar visited Samta Vidyamandir. The main Aim of visit was to inculcate discipline among students and to teach students how to respect others. College Students taught Samta Vidyamandir students about how to respect others and how to behave in the classroom in disciplined manner by showcasing talent through skit. 


11. The Flagship Event Grand Fun ‘N’ Fair organized on 15th December 2022. The Theme of the event was ARYAVARTA MANORANJAN MELA EVAM BHASAHA UTSAV in the alignment with UGC guidelines. The event had 40 stalls located around the inner quadrangle and gangway of the Thakur College, Each stall was given a distinct name based on a regional language. The Aim of This Event was to Promote Entrepreneurship skills among students, to create awareness among Student about different languages and their cultures, to enhance knowledge about how to become a successful Entrepreneur. The event celebrated with great performances by students such as dance, singing, fashion show which were representing different states of India their Languages, Culture and Region. Total 74 Students participated in this Event. It provided young entrepreneurs an opportunity to display their products and services. It provided a platform for small businesses to sell and market their products.

12. One day Industrial Visit for T.Y.B.Com learners to ‘Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust’ was organized on 16th December 2022 with 46 students specializing in Export Marketing. Export Marketing Lecture was taken by Sanjay Patil (JNPT Visit Incharge) on Port. The Aim of this visit was to enhance understanding of Export marketing Subject in Practical Manner, to Create Awareness among Students about Export Procedures and to Enhance Knowledge about Loading and Unloading of Cargo.

13. “Salesmark collaborative certificate course” in collaboration with the Department of Botany was conducted from 18th July to 12 November 2022 for TYBCOM and TY Botany Students. The aim of the course was to develop skills in the field of sales & marketing, Culinary Skills and Food Preservation and to help the Students to be employed in the most lucrative job. It was 45 hrs certificate course in which 20 hours theory sessions by Department of Commerce was conducted on online Zoom Platform and 20 hours practical sessions was conducted by Department of Botany. Total 193 students successfully completed this course.

14. In Collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, a Certificate course “Metamorphosis”-A journey of Transformation, was conducted from 18th July to 20th October 2023 for the First Year Learners of Degree College of all programs. The aim of the Course was to improve and develop the qualitative and quantitative skills required to achieve performance and success in life, to build self-confidence, enhance self-esteem and improve overall personality of the participants, to improve the mental aptitude and to develop cognitive skills. It was 45 hrs certificate course (32 hrs theory + 13 Practical sessions) conducted on online Zoom platform. Total 233 students successfully completed this course.

15. Guest lecture on Personal Finance and Smart Investment in collaboration with BAMMC conducted on 22nd December 2022, addressed by Mr. Santosh Bhagwan Gosavi (AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Distributor). The aim of this guest lecture was to sensitize students with the knowledge of financial investment in Mutual Funds and Stock Market and to enhance knowledge how to earn higher rate of interest by smart investment. Total 120 students attended this guest lecture. This guest lecture enlightened students with knowledge of investment in mutual funds and stock market.

Department of Accountancy 2022-23


The Department of Accountancy had organized a “Save The Environment Campaign” on the theme of “SAY NO TO SINGLE USE PLASTIC” from 25th July to 29th July 2022 in alignment with the latest amendment in the Law. Learners across the college participated and prepared cardboard, slogans, and Sketches and spread awareness among the learners. All the learners pledged that whenever and to the extent possible all will avoid single-use plastic. It was a small endeavour toward a sustainable and green approach and contributing toward the accomplishment of Sustainable Development goals.


  1. A Guest lecture on “ Financial Planning for Youth Investors” was organized by Department of Accountancy on 29.7.2022 from 10 am onwards. 73 learners witnessed this session. Dr. P. Karthika addressed the session related to Investment awareness among learners. She gave a clear picture to our learner about Investment and Financial Planning. She started with the importance of financial planning in the current era, best investment avenues as per student point of view. She has also discussed financial literacy, Investment fraud etc. 


 

  1. A session on Value Education “How to Heal from Painful loss or Emotional Distress?” was organized by Department of Accountancy on 6/9/2022 from 10 am onwards. The resource person was Prabhu Pitavarna Nimaidas . He is International preacher & Motivational Speaker – ISKON. The session was started by Holy Sloja In this session all the learners were given insights about how they can dealt with all the problems they face in their life.

          

                                     

  1. “FINSCOOP-21” an Annual Inter- Collegiate Competition was organised was on 16th September 2022. Total 88 learners participated in this competition from different college across India. This competition had 3 stages. The 1st round was Who’s Who? , 2nd was Fill For  and the last one was Brain Twister. The First Place was bagged by Jai Hind College and 2nd Price by Thakur college of Science & Commerce (BAF Department).

  1. A programme “Reach to Unreach” has been organised by the Department of Accountancy in Collaboration of the Sparkling Wings NGO. Where learners of College go to different spots of Mumbai on Sundays and teach under privileged learners for 2 hours. Along with teaching learning process different skills like painting, Dancing Drawing etc are taught to the children. 


           


     

  



  1. A Value Education Session on Music Mantra- “Importance of Mantra & Music Therapy” was organized by Department of Accountancy on 13.12.2023. The Resource person was Dr. Ruchi Shrivastva, she is Doctorate in Mantra- Music, Double Prabhakar in Instruments & Classical Music). The session was started by Veda Chanting which can be used for avoiding stress. After that the speaker introduced the importance  of music and Mantra in our life and how we can use those Mantras. The session was witnessed by 55 learners. 


             


  1. The Department of Accountancy had organized the workshop on E – filing of Income Tax Return (ITR) from 12th to 19th December 2022 for Third Year learners. The workshop was addressed by Faculty members from the department. The primary objective was to provide hands-on training to learners and assimilation of class theories with practical of competitive world. The workshop consists of three stages.



  1. Department of Accountancy had organized a visit to AMUL DAIRY Plant at Virar on 14th January 2023 for TYBCOM learners. 50 learners participated in the visit in 2 groups of 25 each. It was an on-site experience for learners w.r.t Process costing, Technique and Processes, Cost Structure & Cost Composition, Pricing strategy, AMUL cooperative movement, distribution and retail management, plant capacity, line of product and vertical and horizontal diversification, work force management, Net Worth and total capital employed and multiple social and sustainable approach toward societal welfare throughout the nation.

  1. The Department of Accountancy, B.com (HONS.), International Accounting & digital Business had organised a event ‘National integration’ on 19th December 2022 from 10:40 onwards. National Integration is the awareness of a common Identity among the citizen of the country. This means that although we belong to different caste religion and speak different languages we recognize the fact that we are all one. It is not just a national feeling, but the spirit which brings people of all dialects & belief  together in similar endeavour.  Students from various departments like BIM, BMS, BAF etc., participated. The theme of the event was ‘WHERE THERE IS UNITY THERE IS VICTORY’.


  1. The Department of Accountancy had organized a debate & Elocution competition on the Theme of National Integration on 17th October 2022 from 8.30am onwards for the degree learners. Total 90 learners participated in this. Topic for debate and elocution was given on the spot and 15 minutes time for preparation of same. The learners need to express their views on national integration and similar subject matter related to the theme. Learners expressed their views w.r.t multiple sources of national integration like our constitution, our diversity, culture, festivals, food style, clothing and many more.



  1. Industrial Visit to SEBI was arranged by the Department of Accountancy on 27.1.2023 where students of SYBCOM were taken. The visit was organized specially for the students who have Interest in shares and are very keen to know the functions and working pattern of SEBI. Total 45 students were taken to the visit. In this session the Resource person Mr. Saddam gave them Idea about how stock market works. He explained various functions of market and the loop holes which stock markets had but they have found solutions for this. Various other doubts of learners were answered.


     


  1. A Seminar on Gender Equity- “From Past to Present” was organized by Department of Accountancy, , B.com (HONS.), International Accounting & digital Business on 21st January 2023 in Presentation Room. The Resource person was Ms. Shruti Papaiya. She gave insights about the condition of Women in India in Past and Present. As far as Gender Equity is concerned she explained all the genders are equal and they have same rights according to constitution of India.

The department of B.Com (Honours) organized a session titled, “A Roadmap To Personal Wealth Management” (An investment related awareness) which was held on 20th August, 2022. The speaker for the event was Mr. Abhishek Gupta [Senior manager of HDFC Bank], who provided us with the knowledge of lifetime.



A meeting was held by The Thakur College of Science and Commerce on 20th August, 2022 in conference room. The session was known as ‘A Roadmap which leads to proper management of

wealth’. It was organized by the students of B.Com (Hons.) department. The meeting was Headed by Prof. Manoj Mishra. The meeting was started with approximately hundred (FY, SY, TY) students. He explained about futures options and stocks along with derivatives. He conducted healthy debates with students and elaborated on the various schemes of Investment, their pros and cons and the essential for investment purpose. He also elaborated on how people go only for equities and are not aware about many other investments and explained how one should look into the debts of the companies before making an investment.





A guest lecture on “Value Based Education” was organized by the department of Bcom (Hons), International Accounting, and Digital Business, Thakur College of Science and Commerce. On September 22, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the lecture was held at Auditorium. His Grace Kamal Lochan Prabhuji, President of ISKCON Mira Road, was the guest, and he spoke to us on a number of misconceptions and facets of value education.



The coordinator of the Bcom (Hons) department, Mr. Manoj Mishra, felicitated the guest before the vice principal, Dr. Nishikant Jha, delivered his speech to the teachers and students. Over 200 students from several departments attended the lecture. Students listened as His Grace highlighted how value education is often mistaken for value in terms of money rather than education regarding how to value things. He provided numerous instances to illustrate how to establish priorities and grow an interest in what we are doing. He answered a variety of questions about time management, controlling anger, and other topics during the question-and- answer session. A Vote of Thanks and a closing statement marked the ending of the lecture.

TCSC, ELA organized a Corporate Discourse Seminar on “COMMUNICATION & BEYOND” on 15th October 2022. The Resource Person, Mr. Rajat Pandey, Journalist, Travel Blogger & Youtuber, spoke about the importance of Communication Skills in one’s professional career & growth. In morning assemble of 7am the preamble reading was been taken place in Thakur college of science and commerce in both the degree sections of science and commerce  , with geo tag photos

From 8 am onwards Awarness of constitution day & fundamental duties was been taken place by the students in each and every class with posters of fundamental duties by students of bcom , ibcom , baf , bms , bfm , bim , bammc , the geo tag photos were also been taken place during the event

Posting of fundamental duties on notice board was been taken place on each floor of the institution .

Report on National Quiz Competition

Department of EVS and FC had organized a “National Online Quiz Competition” on World Environmental Day on 4th and 5th June 2022. The competition was held in an online manner by circulating Google Form. Total of 188 participants have participated in the competition from various states of India. 

Report on Only On Earth – Avoiding Usage of Plastic bottles

As an initiative of Government of India to reduce plastic pollution, all the teachers and students of Thakur College of Science and Commerce are required to make an alternative arrangement for usage of Plastic Products such as Water Bottles, Tiffins, etc. This would help in reduction of overall quantity of plastic waste generated. With this initiative, many teachers and students have started bringing the steel water bottles to the college. 

Report on Guest Lecture – E – Wasste (Omkar Ganu)

Guest lecture was organized on 20th July 2022 for  Commerce students . Mr. Omkar Ganu (Specialist, Karo Sambhav and an Ashoka Young Changenmakrer) delivered talk on e-waste management in his lecture on “Why e-waste is biggest problem in 21st Century and how to solve it”. Total 156 students have attended the lecture for the same.

Report on Poster Making Competition

Poster making competition was an inter-class event organized by Department of Environment Studies and foundation course on 30th July 2022 . The theme of the competition was  “Save Mother Earth" The Learners were asked to prepare posters and submit to the teachers on A3  size of paper. Total 113 learners from professional & regular courses of Science and commerce participated in the event. It was made mandatory that the learners need to make the posters in hand and no digital printouts will be allowed. Mrs. Suchandana Datta and Dr. Manju  Singhania were the judges of the event  who announced top 3 winners and given two consolation prizes. Report on Best Out of Waste

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Department of E.V.S and F.C organised “Best Out Of Waste” displays on 13th August 2022. Learners were asked to prepare something using the waste materials in the environment. Total 13 learners from professional and regular courses participated voluntarily and showed their creativity. The items were displayed and showed to all the learners,teaching and non-teaching staff members.Dr.Priti Gupta and Dr.Prajakta Jadhav were incharge of the displays and the motivation within the students.

Swachhata Pakhwada 15TH SEPTEMBER 2022


On the occasion of “Swachhata Pakhwada” declared by UGC, New Delhi, Department Of Environmental Studies and Foundation Course, Botany, Zoology, had organized a “Digital Slogan Competition” for all the degree college learners. The learners have made a slogan in digital format on the topic of “ Swachhata Abhiyan”. Total of 140 learners have participated in the competition. At the same time, Guest Lecture was also conducted on Swachhta Abhiyan by Mrs. Rashmi Joshi. Total of total 290 learners participated in the guest lecture. . The degree college learners have presented the street play which was held in college campus on the cleanliness awareness on 15th September 2022.

Report on Quiz Competition


Inter-class quiz competition was organized by Dept of EVS and FC on 27th August 2022 at 11:00 412 and 413. The theme of the quiz competition was "National Integration” where  the  learners were asked questions on the topic "To know your Country”. The quiz competition took place in offline mode.Total 50 multiple choice questions were  given to the  learners, which they attempted in 30 minutes time. Dr. Priti Gupta, H.O.D. of Dept. of EVS conducted the test. Dr. Prajakta Jadhav and Ms. Nikita Singh supervised the event. A total of 78 learners  from professional course participated in the event. ELOCUTION COMPETITION (26th November 2022)

To celebrate the Constitutional Day on 26th November 2022, in order to commemorate 72 years of adoption of the Indian Constitution and also to make the people aware about their fundamental duties, Department of EVS and FC had organized an Elocution Competition at Intra-Collegiate level for the Degree College Learners. The topics for the event were 1) Building New India: Role of Citizens Duties, 2) Securing Rights by following duties. The event was held on 26th November 2022 in the Presentation Room (5th Floor) at 10.00am. The learners were given option to give their speech in English, Hindi or Marathi language. Dr. Manju Singhania (Commerce Department) and Akash Deshmukh (Economics Department) were the judges of the events. Total 39 learners from Science and Commerce faculties participated in the event.
