2. EVENT NAME: CAREER COUNSELLING

Resource Person:  Mr. Fredrick D’Souza (Specialist in Insurance Industry)

CAREER COUNSELLING was organized on 14h September 2019. The speaker for this session was Mr. Fredrick D’Souza, a specialist in Insurance Industry who has worked in LIC and HDFC Standard Life, who discussed about the about how to choose the right career, develop it and manage it and advised the courses availability in market in Insurance Industry. He talked about various areas of Insurance field where employment opportunities exist.

BANKING CONCLAVE’19: An National level seminar event was organized on 28th September, 2019. Students from BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange), Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Devgad, Nasik and few more states had attended the seminar. The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Anurag Mishra (Regional lead- Asia Pacific IFC World bank). We started with a skit “No Plastic Awareness”. There were 3 speakers Mr. R.K. Chopra (Programme Director of Baroda Apex Academy, Ahmedabad), a motivational speaker discussed on the topic “Love you Zindagi”, the other speakers Mr. Murali Krishnamachari (AVP- Small Finance Bank) and Mr. Tanuj Poddar (CEO- Banking and Finance) had discussed on the topic “Technological Advancements in Banking Sector” through a debate. Total 33 colleges including intra college participated this year. This helped students getting knowledge about technology and new advancements in today’s banking sector.

5. EVENT NAME: BANKING NATIONALISATION DAY

Number of Participants: 189 students From 17 colleges

BANKING NATIONALISATION DAY was organized on 19TH July 2019. It was an inter-collegiate event where about 189 students from 17 colleges participated. Main objective of which was to promote and create awareness of Banking Nationalization Day Events such as Quiz, Model Making, Advertisement and Treasure Hunt were held. Where NK College won 1st Best college trophy and Royal College won Best CL trophy.

6. VISIT NAME: INDUSTRIAL VISIT (RESERVE BANK OF INDIA)

Date/ Time/Venue: 11th September 2019/ RBI, Pune

Number of Participants:  56 students, 2 faculties

INDUSTRIAL VISIT (RESERVE BANK OF INDIA): The students of BBI visited the Reserve Bank of India on 11th September 2019. The students gained knowledge about the Functioning of the Banking System and also toured the archive the gallery of the RBI. 

7. EVENT NAME: BANKING and INSURANCE WEEK

BANKING and INSURANCE WEEK was organized from 21st September 2019 to 27th September 2019 which was organised for the students of  FYJC and SYJC  to make them aware about the banking and insurance sector. The event was not only for educational purpose but also for exploring the fun elements of the banking and insurance sector. Events such as Quiz, Poster Making, Guest Lecture, PPT competition, Debate related to banking were organized to promote banking.

8. EVENT NAME: BE A BANKER’20

Date/ Time/Venue: 10TH and 11th January 2020

Number of Participants: 1054 

The Flagship event of Department of BBI “Be A Banker” was organized on. 10TH and 11th January 2020. This year the theme for a Be A Banker was ‘ENTROIDO’ (Carnival). The students from a total of 18 colleges had participated which included colleges of Mumbai, Lucknow, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan. It had various competitions like Debate, Quiz, Elocution, Face Painting, Parade, JAM, PowerPoint Presentation and many more. In total BAB had 32 Events. The main objective of BAB is to promote “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana”. The winners were awarded with Certificate and trophy. Students participated with great enthusiasm.

9. EVENT NAME: ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION: On 24th September 2019, an Essay Writing Competition was organized theme for which was Communalism. Around 30 students participated where 10 from B.Com, 5 from BFM, 5 from BMS, 10 from BBI and BIM.  The topic was Communalism Article 370. Time limit was 40 minutes for the essay writing competition for the students.

10. EVENT NAME: GUEST LECTURE ON ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITISATION

GUEST LECTURE ON ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITISATION:  A Guest Lecture was organized on 29th February 2020. There were students of first year from BBI and BIM. The speaker was Mr. Chinu Kwatra who is a “Founder of Khushiyan Foundation”. The topic for the session was “Environmental Sensitization” where he discussed about the importance of environment that how to save and protect environment. He also discussed that we should help poor people and serves them also a better environment. 

11. EVENT NAME: CROSSFIRE

CROSSFIRE: A Debate Competition was organized an event CROSSFIRE on 21st January, 2020. The theme was “WOMAN EMPOWERMENT IN BANKING AND INSURANCE” The participation criteria were 2 members per team. There were 8 teams i.e. 16 participants were there. The participants had to pick up one chit and they had to speak on that particular topic. Two teams were given same topic where one team had to speak “for” the topic and other had to speak “against” the topic. The Judge for this event was Manju Madam who gave marks to the participants on the basis of their knowledge and presentation.

12. EVENT NAME: GENDER SENSITIZATION” SPECIAL REFERNCE TO THIRD GENDER

GENDER SENSITIZATION” SPECIAL REFERNCE TO THIRD GENDER: It was organized on 27TH January, 2020. The speaker was Dr. Sunil Karve who gave a session on the topic “GENDER SENSITIZATION” SPECIAL REFERNCE TO THIRD GENDER. There were 113 participants. The session was about how the third gender, i.e. transgender are treated in our society. The speaker also told the story 5 transgender who struggled their lives either through bad commenting on them or they were thrown out of their house in their childhood times. But these all five achieved something in their life. The speaker also said that we should give them a chance or respect them as they are human beings too. The speaker said not only these were successful but there are many who struggled their lives to achieve something what they want in their life. So if we respect and support them, it will be a better society. The speaker said let’s treat them equal and work together. The session was very good because it was an open session about third gender. This session had made everyone understand the importance of acceptance of third gender in our society.

BANKING AND INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION: Documentation workshop on Banking and Insurance was conducted for students of Banking and Insurance on 24th January 2020 where Ms. Riya Lanjekar an Alumni who explained students about the use of form and how to fill the forms of bank like Bank Account opening form, cheques, withdrawal slips, pay in slip, etc. Students were also explained about the Rules and Regulations of Banking and how to deposit all the required documents in bank.

INSURANCE WEEK: It was organized from 10th February 2020 to 15th February 2020 which was organised for all the learners to make them aware about the insurance sector. The event was not only for educational purpose but also for exploring the fun elements of the insurance sector.

Movie screening was organised for the students of BBI and BIM where theme was “Communalism”. The movie was all about the ethnic groups where people of different community are treated differently. The students learned that how we should treat everyone equally. There should not be any differences between poor or rich.

16. EVENT NAME: INTERNATIONAL NON-VIOLENCE WEEK

Gandhi Week was organised from 1st October to 5th October. On Gandhi’s 150th birthday, we celebrated Gandhi Week. There were 5 events in total. The theme for which was “Gandhi and his thoughts”. The Following were the events: Movie Screening, Poster Making, Quiz Competition, Essay Writing, Mono Acting and Guest Lecture. It was an inter-collegiate event. The students gained knowledge and they got an opportunity to showcase their talents.

COVID-19 Pandemic Quiz was organized on 18th April, 2020. It was conducted to make learners aware about the various facts about the coronavirus, to enhance the knowledge of the learners in lockdown period, to spread awareness about the corona virus and educate people about the coronavirus. We provided E-Certificates all the participants. With this online quiz, the learners were exposed various facts about the coronavirus and helped the learners take precaution against the coronavirus.

Financial Quiz (Banking & Insurance Awareness) was organized from 20th April 2020 to 21st April 2020. It was conducted to make awareness about banking and insurance to the general public and to see the knowledge of the people how much people are aware of banking and insurance system. We provided E-Certificates to the participant who scored more than 40% in online quiz. The participants were also sent feedback form.

Online Poster Making Competition was organized from 25th April 2020. It was organized to enhance their creativity skills during this lockdown. The theme was “EARTH DAY”. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries. The winners were announced in Social Media app. Participation and winning certificates were provided through emails. We provided participation as well as winning certificates.

National Level Quiz on Government Initiative and Scheme from 2nd May 2020 to 5th May 2020. It was conducted to make learners aware about the various initiatives taken by government, to make learners aware about the benefits of scheme launched by the government and to enhance the knowledge of the learners in lockdown period. We provided E-Certificates to the participant who scored more than 70% in online quiz. The participants were also sent feedback form. With this online quiz, the learners were exposed various initiatives of government and helped the learners gain knowledge about the schemes and their uses.

One Week National Level Faculty Development Programme on BFSI Sector was organized from 11th May 2020 to 17th May 2020. It aims at training teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students, guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial career. The faculties got a chance to learn online and interact with other faculties across India. The faculties had to attend all seven days session and were given assignments and online test on daily basis. After the completion of course, all faculties were provided with E-Certificate of Course Completion with Grades assigned by Organizing Committees.

National Level Online Essay Writing Competition was organized on 15th May, 2020. It was conducted to understand and gain knowledge from that particular topic. The participants had to register themselves via Google Forms. The Essays were sent through E-Mail. Two judges evaluated the essays. After the completion of evaluation of essays, the best essay writers were awarded as well as participation certificate were also provided to all participants.
