  1. Ecological Restoration : CARRE

Department of Banking and Insurance in collaboration with Junior College and Department of EVE organized “ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION” a week event for the students from 16th June 2022 to 22nd June 2022. This was with the view to enhance the knowledge about the present scenario of the environment. The event flows are as follows:- 

  • Did You Know: A quiz competition was held which consisted of two rounds. A quiz competition that will test your knowledge about our dear environment. Test yourself to see how well do you know our mother nature.

  • Unspoken Words: The participants had to write an autobiography on a given topic. There are many words that are unspoken by the living beings around us who cannot speak human language.

  • Opinions Matter: A debate competition was held where in the students competed with one and other to prove their point. To Fight for the right. What is your opinion is the right thing to do.

  • Picturesque: Just to take a moment and cherish how beautiful our Mother Nature actually is, a photography event was conducted. Where you click aesthetic pictures of our beautiful eco system, flaunt your photography skills in this event. A picture to remember! it could include anything animals, flowers, trees, rivers or sea. anything that's included  in our mother nature.

  • Nature On Reels: The students created a reel to show their concern towards the nature and provided with various ways to preserve it. So as we see that the global warming just keeps on increasing with a no end. So why don't we all become influencers for a day and influence our fellow humans to save and protect our mother Earth? Yes you heard it right all we have to do is make video on creating environmental awareness.

  • Sketch The World: The participants made a sketch on the given topic: “Preserving Our Mother Earth”. Participants have to sketch and not use any colours. 

  • Be Assertive: To make a short and sweet impression and to create an image of an ideal environment in the mind of the people using the minimum words possible, a slogan competition was held.

  1. National Insurance Awareness Day : STEPS

Department of Banking and Insurance organized National Insurance Awareness Day on 28th June, 2022. This event was organized to make understand the importance and spread awareness about insurance and its benefits in our daily life. There were 2 events in total. Both sub events had a winning criteria. The events are as follows:-

Know What You Say: Participants were given an insurance based situation wherein they had to come up with a solution for the same within a specific time period. 

Flowing Knowledge: Participants were given a particular amount and they had to allocate and invest that amount in different types of insurance. The one with maximum amount saved was considered winner.

Department of Banking and Insurance organized a guest lecture on DIPLOMA IN BANKING AND FINANCE on 1st July, 2022. This guest lecture was organized to make understand the importance and spread awareness about career regarding banking, insurance and finance sector and its various exams.   1. Banking Nationalization Day : STEPS

Department of Banking and Insurance organized BANKING NATIONALIZATION DAY on 18th and 19th July i.e., 2 DAY INTERCOLLEGIATE LEVEL EVENT. This was the 9th year we celebrated this event. CLs MEET (Contingent Leader’s Meet) was organized where all the representatives of different colleges in Mumbai were invited via Zoom Platform to make them understand about the event flow and rules and regulations of the same. The participants were provided a hardcopy of the Certificate. There were 5 events in total and it had winning criteria where the winners were provided a winning certificate.

  • Inauguration and Model Making: The Inaugural of the event was done by respected Vice-Principal of Degree Commerce, Dr. Nishikant Jha and respected Dean Academics Commerce, Dr. Parul Singhal at 11 am followed by the 1st event, Model Making.

  • Quizz: Quiz was conducted to test the knowledge about Banking Nationalisation and its norms. Banking related questions were asked in MCQ format in team of 2.

  • Welcome To My Bank: Every contingent was given a bank name. The participants had to pitch it to the audience as for why their bank is the best among the rest.

  • Expose The Scammer: The participants had to prepare themselves with a real life financial scam. Participants have to understand and explain as to who were the scammers and measures incase of frauds.

  • Elegant Service: The participants were given the role of a banker wherein the organising team were the customers and asked the bankers, queries related to Banking Services. 

  • Treasure Hunt: A game in which players had to search for hidden objects by following a trail of clues.

Department of Banking and Insurance organised BANKING CONCLAVE on 20th August 2022; an INTERCOLLEGIATE LEVEL EVENT with the Theme: Risk Management & Corporate Communication in Financial Services Sector. The event was divided into 2 different sessions.

  • Session 1 Topic: Risk Management In Financial Services Sector

Speaker: Mr. Jasneet Singh Bindra (Country Head - CISI UK)

Mr. Jasneet Singh Bindra spoke about the opportunities in the Banking, Insurance and other Financial Sector. He emphasised the various options available in these sectors i.e. for Banking; Bank Manager, Investment Banker, Equity Analyst, Loan Officer, Bank Teller, etc. for Insurance; Actuary, Claims Adjuster, Insurance Broker, Underwriter, etc. for Finance Sector; CFA, CPA, CFP, Financial Risk Manager, etc. He also made the participants understand the role of the above career paths. 

  • Session 2 Topic: Corporate Communication In Financial Services Sector

Mr. Umesh M. Pherwani conducted an interactive session with the participants. He covered the points; How to communicate in the Professional World, What are the Do’s and Don'ts of Corporate Communication, Importance of Corporate Communication.

  1. International Year Of Millets (Part 1) : CARRE

Department of Banking and Insurance and Financial Markets and B. Com Investment Management organized INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF MILLETS on 23rd September, 2022. This event was organized to make understand the importance and spread awareness about MILLETS we eat in and what changes are required to do in daily life. We spread awareness regarding the same as well did millet designing where the participants designed through the millets.

14)Communalism : SHAPE

Department of Banking & Insurance had organized an event on COMMUNALISM on 26th September 2022 to spread awareness on the topic of communalism. Community we stay in and what changes are required to do in daily life. We conducted a movie screening on the topic “Swastik”  and an essay writing competition was held.

15)Non-Violence Week : SHAPE

Department of Banking & Insurance had organized an event on International Non-Violence Week from 26th September 2022 to 1st October 2022. The event flow is as follows:

  • Swachhta Abhiyan- There was a cleanliness drive starting from Thakur College of Science & Commerce covering Thakur Village which was guided by Khushiyaan core team member. 

  • T-Shirt Painting - Each participant has to finish T-shirt painting in 1 hour. Participants are judged on the basis of their creativity.

  • Essay Writing- Each participant gets 1hour to write essay on the topic given. Participant will be judged on vocabulary and content of their topic.

  • Debate Competition- team of 2 members. Speaker get 3 min to debate on the topic given. Participant will be judged on vocabulary and content of their topic.

  • Rangoli Making- Each participant have to make rangoli on any Gandhi Movements in the given time. Participants are judged on based their creativity.

Department of  Banking & Insurance had organized Vigilance Awareness week From 14th November 2022 to  15th November 2022 in quest of vision of Government of India and Central Vigilance commission to jointly participant in prevention of corruption and to promote public awareness about the severity and the risk posed by corruption. The event flow is as follows:

  • Debate: Each participate get 3 minutes to speak on the topic. Participants need to speak in English language. No foul language. Participant will be judged on vocabulary and content of their topic.

  • Views on proverb: Each participate will have 3 minutes to speak on the proverb given. Participants need to speak in English language. Participant will be judged on vocabulary and content of their topic.

17) International Banking Fraud Awareness Week : CAARE

26)BE A BANKER : STEPS

Department of Banking and Insurance organised an Inter-Collegiate National Fest BE A BANKER’23 on 9th, 10th, and 11th February 2023. This year the THEME for B.A.B’23 was ‘AAYOG’. There were 1183 participants. This year B.A.B’23 was the 10th Edition. The theme itself reflect the latest innovation in the banking sector. It was conducted for the youths to create awareness about innovation taking place in the banking sector to prepare them for near future. The following events were conducted. There were 4 categories for events which were conducted:- Sports- Turf Cricket, Turf Football, Tug of war, Badminton Formal events – Quiz, Pitch your ideas, At your service, own it voice it, Know your contingent and Portfolio management . Informal events - Beg Borrow Steal, Be the Roadies, Treasure Hunt, Reel Making and Minute to Win it. E-Gaming events - Carrom, Chess, BGMI. Cultural events - Group Dance, Solo Singing/Rap, Solo Dance, Mr. and Miss AAYOG, War of CL’s, Fashion Show. The event flow are as follows:

  • Turf cricket: Team will consist of 8 players. Each inning will be of 4 overs. Bowling Distribution will be as 1-1-1-1. All the cricket rules will be applicable.

  • Turf Football: Each match will be 15 minutes long, with 7 minutes for each half and 1 minute break. There should be 7 players in a team (6 playing and 1 for substitution). Substitution will be allowed only during half time.

  • Tug of War: Each team will be consisting of 8 members. The players begin tugging the rope when the referee G gives the signal. Each player must pull backwards as hard as they can. The team continue pulling until center of the rope (tape mark) crosses where the referee is standing.

  • Badminton: Match consist of 1 game of 11 points. First player to reach 11 points wins the match. Final round will be 3 sets.

  • Quiz: Participants are required to wear formal attire (failure in following the dress code will result in negative marking). Use of cell phone is prohibited. Further rules to be disclosed.

  • Pitch your idea: Participants have to pitch their product/service within the given time limit. The idea should be completely based on Finance. Participants have to offer equity in exchange for the amount.

  • At your Service: Keep yourselves updated about the basic banking C rules and regulations. This is completely related to Banking. Further rules will be disclosed on the spot.

  • Own it Voice it: Be well versed about your contingent names, because this event is completely based on the contingent names. Further rules will be disclosed on the spot. Two minutes for the content and then the participant must conclude in a minute. If the participant exceeds the allocated time, then the marks will be deducted at the discretion of the judges.

  • Know your contingent: Be well versed about your contingent names, because this event is completely based on the contingent names. Further rules will be disclosed on the spot.

  • Beg Borrow Steal: All the teams will be provided with a list of items. Team must beg, borrow, or steal the items that are listed to them. No violence or abusive language is allowed and if any. It will lead to disqualification of the team.

  • Be the Roadies: Participants will be asked to do certain tasks. Tasks will be disclosed on the spot. Each team will have to perform the task within allotted time limit.

  • Treasure Hunt: Skipping a clue will lead to disqualification and the team C which gets to the treasure first, wins. No Phones & Reference material allowed. College Campus.

  • Reel Making: The film has to be recorded on the day of event. The theme for which the movie must be created will be given on the spot. Recording and editing time will be 1 hour and 30 minutes in total. Mobile/DSLR or any other camera can be used to record. Editing can be done on phone or laptop.

  • Minute to win it: Every registered participant gets 500 tokens in return. C Those tokens can be spent to play games. Each game will have entry fee like 100 tokens. Game to be played will be disclosed on the day of the event.

  • Carrom: Direct knockout match. The winner should share the screenshot to the group admin. If there will be any internet issue the organizer will not be responsible.

  • Chess: The game will be of 3+2 Blitz format and will be played on www.lichess.com. There will be a tournament held for the duration of 30 mins and the one at the top at the end of 30 minutes will be the winner of the Run. It is important to join the club which will be given to. Use of engines is strictly prohibited as Accuracy.

  • BGMI: All the maps should be downloaded. The organizers will not be responsible for any type of internet error or lag. Please have a stable connection. There will be no "Rematch" conducted by the host.

  • Group Dance: Props are allowed. 2 minutes setup time will be given before the performance. Song has to be submitted 2 days before the event in MP3.

  • Solo Singing/Rap: Explicit lyrics are prohibited. Background music, if needed has to submitted to the team prior to the event.

  • War of CL’s: The CL present in the Campus must register for this event. Tasks to be performed will be revealed on the day of the event.

  • Fashion show: Participants have to follow INDIAN TRADITIONAL ATTIRE and represent Indian culture. Anything related to India can be chosen as a theme by the contingents. No western costumes allowed. Props are allowed. One element (mascot) from the Contingent Code Is compulsory as a show stopper.2-minute setup time will be given before the Performance. Team exceeding the setup time will face a deduction in their performance. Music/Song must be submitted 1 day before the event in MP3 Format.

33)Global Money Week : STEPS

Department of Banking and Insurance has organized Global Money Week from 23rd March 2023 to 25th March 2023 to ensure that the youth have access to high quality education, to make awareness about the money matters and to make smart financial decisions that can improve future financial resilience and financial well-being.

The event flow is as follows:-

  • Roll the dice:- 2 member per team. This event had 2 rounds. In round 1 Dice will be rolled and the respective number’s packet is to be picked.  Each packet will having 3 questions at least 2 answers need to be correct to qualify for round 2. In round 2 Situations regarding Financial Crisis, Budget, Financial Decisions, etc. will be asked and participants are to present their respective opinions on the same Participants need to present their respective opinions on the given situation.

  • Quiz:-  the participate can play individually and in team of 2. this event has 2 rounds. In round 1 Each participant will get a link of a Google form and then need to fill it. There will be 20 questions carrying 1 mark each. Participants are to score minimum of 12/20 to qualify for Round 2. In round 2 It will be rapid fire round 

Person with the most points in Round 1 and 2, will be selected as the winners. 

  • Money Puzzle:- this event has 2 rounds. In round 1 Currency of various countries will be given in the form of a puzzle. The ones who will solve the most puzzles in the given amount of time will qualify to next round. In round 2 Puzzles are to be solved while answering the asked questions, participants will be judged on the basis of accuracy and speed. 

  • Financial Journalism:- Participants will be given with a topic regarding finance or global financial Market to prepare a 300 word report. Participants will be judged on the basis of vocabulary, practicality of the topic and views presented. 

  • Portfolio Management:- Participants  get 50,000 (on paper) they can buy any shares within the amount given and write down the name of shares bought , time and quantity on paper. At the end the gains and losses will be counted which the participates made in 5 days.

  • PR Games:- This event had two PR games
