B.Com. (Entrepreneurship) programme has its curriculum explicitly designed for business visionaries to encourage critical thinking and foster their ambitions through an academically rigorous and practical learning experience. It serves the needs of budding entrepreneurs by building an entrepreneurial mindset which will help them to identify potential business opportunities and create high impact ventures. Various activities were conducted for the budding entrepreneurs this year enabling them to envision, identify and develop innovative business ideas.
An “Artificial Intelligence Tools Workshop” was organised on 26th July, 2023 to guide the learners to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools effectively amidst the technological advancements. Mr. Rupak Shah, Co-Founder of Fabulaous Media @ Fabulaous Media, Mumbai and renowned AI Content Creator was the Resource Person for this workshop. The workshop commenced with a comprehensive understanding of AI’s role in business innovation, addressing both the opportunities and challenges it presents. Mr. Shah shared examples of innovative business models driven by AI technologies and gave a detailed explanation of the top AI Tools integral to every stary-ups’ toolkit to propel them towards extraordinary growth and success. Mr. Shah led the engaging Q&A session, providing participants with an opportunity to seek clarification on AI concepts and strategies. A total of 41 FY, SY and TYBCom. (Entrepreneurship) learners gained valuable insights into AI’s transformative potential and its role in shaping the future of their entrepreneurial ventures.
The Departments of B. Com. (Digital Business, Entrepreneurship, Service Industry Management) and M.Com. (E-Commerce) organized a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Atmanirbhar Bharat” on 14th August, 2023. A total of 61 Degree College Learners participated enthusiastically in this competition. The Posters were presented on the theme of India’s Freedom Movement, Vision for India’s Amrit Kaal and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which highlighted the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat exploring its new dimensions.
One-Day Trek was organised to Kataldhar Waterfall, Lonavala, Pune on 4th September, 2023. Kataldhar Waterfall Trek witnessed 50 FY, SY and TYBCom. (Entrepreneurship) learners exploring the nature while trekking through the scenic surroundings. The trek taught the participants some important lessons of endurance, teamwork and willpower to successfully navigate through their entrepreneurial journey.
An online Guest Lecture on “Breaking Gender Stereotype” was organised by the Department of Management Studies (B.M.S.), B.Com. (Entrepreneurship), B.Com. (Service Industry Management), B.Com. (Digital Business) and M.Com. (E-Commerce) on 5th October, 2023 on the Zoom Platform. Dr. Paromita Chakrabarti, Professor and Head, Department of English, HR College of Commerce and Economics, HSNC University, Mumbai was the esteemed Resource Person. Dr. Chakrabarti made the attendees conscious of the typical gender roles drawn by the society and how it is high time for the youth to realise it and work towards change. Women’s status in the society was discussed in great detail enlightening the attendees towards a movement of equity and empowerment. The lecture was attended by 99 Degree College learners.
Guest Lecture on the “Impact of Climate Change on Products and Services” was conducted on 20th January, 2024. The Resource Person Mr. Makarand Kulkarni, Country Head- IFMS, Reliance Retail Limited, Mumbai highlighted the impact of climate change on consumer behaviour, market trends and the need for sustainable product designs. Mr. Kulkarni explored innovative strategies for mitigating the environmental impact while enhancing business profitability. He emphasized on incorporating sustainable practices into entrepreneurial ventures to address pressing environmental challenges and to meet the ever- evolving consumer demands. The guest lecture provided the 29 aspiring F.Y., S.Y. and T.Y.B.Com. (Entrepreneurship) learners to optimise product design with sustainability in mind for climate neutrality, thus ensuring sustainable behaviour throughout the value chain.
Two-days “Life Coaching Workshop” was organised at Sterling Nature Trails Sajan, Palghar on 18th and 19th February, 2024 for 36 F.Y.B.Com. (Entrepreneurship) learners. The Resource Person for the workshop was Ms. Kiran Khetwani, COO and Life Coach, Bodhe Institute for Entrepreneurship, Mumbai. The Life Coaching Workshop aimed to empower the learners with essential life skills and mindset strategies to navigate the entrepreneurial challenges effectively. During the workshop, the participants learned practical techniques for goal setting, time management, effective communication and stress management. The activities involving real- world problems and learning by doing approach were specially curated for the workshop to
enhance the participant’s creative thinking and problem-solving skills which are essential for entrepreneurs.
“Business Coaching Session” was conducted on 9th March, 2024 to familiarize the 32 F.Y.B.Com. (Entrepreneurship) budding learners with the start-up ecosystem. Renowned Business Coaches CA Hitesh Saiswani, Start-Up and Venture Capital Advisor and Mr. Charit Anchan, Co-Founder and CEO at Order On Messiah and Ex-Amazon Marketing Manager, Mumbai led the discussions through the intricate maze of decisions and strategies that the startups encounter. Mr. Charit Anchan spoke about how creativity is an important source of innovation which drives the development of new businesses and new products and services. CA Hitesh Saiswani provided strategic insights to ensure the business growth while stressing on the importance of conducting market research, effective financial management, strategy development and business modelling. The lessons and perspectives gained from the business coaching session aimed to steer the learners towards sustained entrepreneurial success.
