Activities of the department started with giving tribute and respect to the Teachers on the auspicious Teachers day that is 5th September 2020, with a National level Slogan and Poetry writing competition where 140 participants participated from all over the country.
A webinar on the topic “Upskill your Confidence and Communication” was organised on 23 rd. September 2020 by the Department of Financial Markets. Spoke about how to improve the communication skills and build the confidence to face corporate interviews and be successful in securing good placement in the market.

On 24th October 2020, department organised a National Level ‘Poster Making Competition’ on the theme, 75 year’s working for Peace ‘as the day was celebrated internationally as 75th Anniversary of United Nations which work for Peace and Non-violence.83 participants participated in the competition.
A webinar on ‘Ethical Leadership’ was organised on 3rd November 2020 to inculcate ethical values among the learners. Ms. Mamta Pandya and Ms Vasudha Jhunjhunwala, from Entrepreneur & Art of Living taught the learners how to follow the route of ethics as ethical leadership is essential for the long-term success.

An alumni interaction was organised on 7th November 2020. Mr Rohit Singh, Business Analyst at Motilal Oswal and IAS Aspirant spoke on the topic, “Career opportunities in Financial Markets” and various competitive examinations to enter the job markets. He shared his experiences and gave valuable tips for higher education the field of finance.

Mr. Amogh Gothoskar trainer, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was invited for a webinar which was organised by the Department of Financial Markets on the topic ‘Capital Markets’ on 4th December 2020, by. He spoke about the nuances of capital markets. It was the part of ‘Investor Awareness Programme’ of Bombay Stock Exchange.
In order to encourage the learners to develop their skills in financial markets, a Skill Development Programme was organised by the Department of Financial Management on 24th December 2020. Mr. Kunal Rambia, CMP, CFT Fund Manager, The Street, spoke about the various skills necessary to understand the financial Markets in depth. He also guided the learners on how to equip themselves with the required skills and be future ready.

A guest lecture on the topic ‘Environment Sensitivity & Spirituality’ was held on 25th January 2021. The speaker, Mr. Rajesh Anent Kadam,H.O.D, spiritual care, BhaktiVedanta Hospital spoke about how we need to respect Indian culture and though valuing the culture, we can protect the environment. It is rightly said, “Honour the world because without your judgement you will realize it is a place of grace, a place of beauty and a place that blesses you as learn to bless it.”
‘Role of Law and Justice in Gender Equality’on 6th February 2021. It is a sincere effort to create Gender Sensitisation amongst the learners. With the example of case studies, he spoke about the various provisions of law which upheld gender equity in our country. He made the learners to realise the provisions of law and how the proper knowledge of these provisions, we can safeguard our rights.
The department of B.com (financial markets) held an interactive session on the topic ‘Redefining Unity in Diversity in Contemporary India’ on 22nd February, 2021. Speaker for the session was Mr Jay Shah, Alumnus of BFM, proud recipient of Global Youth Fellow-Karamveer chakra, supported by United Nations... He conducted a wonderful session depicting various cultures across the globe and their unity in diversity and the need to uphold the National Integration amongst the youth.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” With this spirit, students of BFM visited Shantidaan Aashram on 10th March 2021 to show gratitude and give something back to the society. It's been a privilege making heartfelt contribution from our end to the Ashram, which is a home for mentally challenged children and destitute.
On 23rd and 24 th March 2021 Department held its Intercollegiate Competition ‘Finstreet” for the 5 th year. It was inaugurated by Mr.Vinod Nair, Head Academics and Product Development, Bombay Stock Exchange Institute and Mr. Dharmesh Chauhan, Associate Director, Research Division, CRISIL. 150 Students from different colleges of Mumbai participated in the event. Competition like Mock Stock, Cryptochase, Options &Swaps and Brain teaser was held. All the events were held online and teams from various colleges participated with enthusiasm.
To develop the analytical skills with the learners department organised a Case study analysis on the topic ‘Investor Protection In India on 3oth March 2021.Learners participated in enthusiasm by critically analysing the regulators role in the protection of investors.
The department of B.com(financial markets) collaborated along with the department of chemistry and organised two days session on the topic“Financial Planning- Advisor zaroori hai” on the 25th & 26th March, 2021. Mr. Aman Chawla & Mr. Bharat Munim, MD Gobal School of Investment Banking and Wealth Management explained the importance of finance,various investment options and why proper planning is one of the most crucial decision which need to be started very early for a successful future.
An interactive session on “How to prepare for competitive exams” was organised on 12th April, 2021. Mr. Aman Chawla, CEO –ACBM Mentor Academy, speaker for the day gave students a clear picture about the various job opportunities in finance by solving their doubts and providing study tips to crack competitive exams efficiently.
On 17th April 2021, a career counselling session was organised by the students on the topic ‘Career opportunities in Finance’ by Aditya Singh, Senior operations manager, Marsh McLennan global Services Private Limited. He is alumnus of the department.He counselled the students about the various career options available in the filed of finance and solved the queries and doubts in the minds of the students about the career in finance.
