On July 8th, 2023, organized an Alumni Interaction, focusing on preparing students for competitive examinations. Mr. Gaurav Jhawar, a Strategy Consultant and CFO Accenture Strategy & Consulting, led the session, discussing the importance of certifications like MBA, CFA, and FRM, alongside career options in finance. He emphasized time management, participation in academic and competitive events, and the development of leadership skills. Mr. Jhawar shared his career journey, insights on clearing MBA entrance exams, and addressed doubts on international MBA, placements, and the impact of technology on finance. The interactive session provided students with valuable guidance and opportunities for one-on-one interaction.
On 31st July, 2023, departments of BFM went for a visit to BSE. The students stepped into the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for an engaging session led by financial expert Mr. Rakesh Nair. With Nair's expertise, they navigate the intricacies of stock trading and investment, breaking down complex concepts into relatable anecdotes. Amid the informative discourse, the students were encouraged to ask questions and actively participate in discussions. Nair's patient responses and insightful explanations created an atmosphere of interactive learning, fostering an environment where curiosity thrived. The session encourages active participation, fostering interactive learning and a renewed perspective on finance. Armed with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, students leave the BSE premises with a transformed understanding of the financial world, thanks to Nair's enlightening guidance.
On August 1, 2023, the Department of B.Com. (Financial Markets), organized an event called “Dig Your Thoughts on Gender Equality.” participants to share their views on gender equality issues. The event was interactive, with participants presenting their views on topics like equal opportunities, pay, and rights. The event provided an opportunity for participants to share their perspectives and find solutions for gender equality issues.
On August 23, 2023, department organized an event on National Integration "Know your Country" where students from various departments presented on different states of India. Each department prepared a PowerPoint presentation covering aspects like history, culture, cuisine, and tourism of their assigned state. Participants dressed in traditional attire and were judged based on knowledge, presentation skills, and responses to questions. The event promoted national integration and provided a platform for students to learn about India's diversity. Winners received certificates and medals, while all participants received participation certificates.
On 5th September, 2023, the department of B.Com. (Financial Markets) organised a flagship event 'Cryptstock Quest' an inter collegiate Crypto + Stock virtual trading competition in real trading time. A day prior to the event, on 4th September, 2023, a guidance lecture was arranged for the participants in order to give them a few tips and tricks on technical and fundamental analysis. Prof. Reema Joshi had taken this beautiful and informative lecture. This guidance lecture was of great help for students of other departments as they got to learn about the basics of stock market. On the day of the event, 2 rounds were conducted. The event commenced at 10am, a real time live trading hours on application called Stock Grow
Finstreet’24 – Let the Bull in you Growl, a two-days flagship event, organised on 11th and 12th January, aimed to spread financial knowledge among the youth. The event featured 20+ renowned colleges, with 300+ participants. The event featured financial games and competitions, providing an interactive platform for learning and skill development. Hinduja College, Dhanukar College, and Pillai College secured podium positions, while NKS College and Dhanukar College received the Best CL award. Participants demonstrated their financial acumen through competitions like Metatrade, Findice, and Brain Teaser. The BFM department's growth was a notable aspect of Finstreet 24, showcasing their dedication to fostering financial literacy among students. The event was a success, bringing together students, educators, and industry experts to prossmote financial awareness and skill development.
