Public Communication: A Challenge or an Opportunity : Guidance
Lecture on “Public Communication: A Challenge or an Opportunity” was
held on 3rd July, 2018. The lecture was conducted by Mr. Vrushubh
Yekhande (Future Consumer LTD – Future Group), to create awareness on
the importance of Public Communication in the learner’s career and daily
life.(60 learners participated in this activity.)
Investor Protection Fund: BSE
Guest Lecture on “Investor Protection Fund” forthe aspiring investors
was conducted on 27th July, 2018.The lecture was conducted by Ms. Garima
Kumar, to create awareness on the risk and threats in the financial
markets.
Global Warming Awareness Guidance Lecture:
It was organized on 29th September, 2018.The lecture was conducted by
Ms. Pamela Jha (Asst.Professor of Amity Institute of Biotechnology), to
create awareness on the impact of Global Warming and the effects it
causes on daily lives along with the measures to reduce Global Warming
(124 students participated in this activity.)
How to Curb Communalism:
A Seminar on Communalism was conducted on 6th March, 2019. The Speaker
Dr. Ved Thapar- Physician, Motivator, Trainer and Performer spoke on the
history of communalism and the various problems related to it. The
event was well attended by students of BBI and BIM who were motivated to
fight against communalism.
Securities Exchange Board of India Visit: One
Day Industrial Visit to “SEBI” was organisedfor the second year
students on 7th August,2018. 50 students visited the SEBI Headquarters
at Bandra-Kurla Complex where they were introduced to various investment
avenues and working of SEBI.
National Institute of Securities Market Visit:
One Day Industrial Visit to “NiSM” for the studentswas arranged on 21st
September, 2018. 30 students visitedthe (NiSM)in Vashi where they were
introduced to avenues associated with Securities Trading as well as a
Mock Live Trade Session.
Go cheese factory visit:
An Industrial visit was organized to Go Cheese, factory in Pune. A
group of 73 students along with two faculties visited the industry on
15th March 2019. The outcome of this visit was to give real exposure of
manufacturing process and process automation of one of the oldest as
well as one of the most dynamic industry in the global market
Investment Roadmap 2018:
An Inter-Collegiate event by the Department was held on 21st August,
2018. The objective was to plant investment skills in the minds of the
students and enhance their knowledge. This event was conducted by Mr.K.
Sukumaran (Dean of NiSM), Mr. Bhavesh Shah (Consultant, Business
Television India), Mr. Darshan Sanghvi (Associate Analyst-Franklin
Templeton Investments), Ms. Nikita Valia. A total of230 studentsfrom
colleges across Mumbai participated in Stockholic,Summary
Interpretation, Ranneeti and Business Plan which were organised for this
event.
Investor Week:
was observed by the Department to celebrate the World Investor Week
(WIW) to raise awareness about the Importance of Investor Education
& Protection. The Investor Awareness Week kick-started with the
following activites:
Day 1-Investment Awareness Workshop in
association with Dept. of Economics was conducted on 3rd October,2018.
This session was conducted by Ms. Sakhi Agarwal (Alumni) and Ms. Sneha
Punamia (CFP). 161 students participated in this workshop.
Day 2-Financial Quizwas organised on 4th October, 2018 with 156 participants.

3-Presentation and Model Display Competitionon Investment related
themes was organised on 5th October,2018 were 250 learners participated.
Contrarian 2019:
An Inter-Collegiate Seminar on Wealth Management was conductedon 23rd
January,2019. The Guest Speakers Mr.Kunal Rambhia(Founder & Fund
Manager, The Streets) and Mr. Jaishank Gupta(Chief Financial Planner)
created awareness among students about wealth management and to bust
investing myths in this field. 263 students were benefitted from the
same.
Portfolio Management:
It was organised on 13th February, 2019. This activity was an effort to
hone the skills of students in building Investment Portfolios &
Assessing Risk and Returns from the same.
Investment Banking Semina:r
It was conducted by CA Priyesh Karia (CFA level III, Independent
Financial Advisor) on 12th February,2019. The Speaker enlightened the
students on the emerging fieldsin Investment Banking and related issues
like Mergers & Acquisitions and the Role of Investment Bankers.
Poster Making Competition
was organised on “Right to Vote” on 14th February,2019 with the motive
to bring about consciousness among the students about importance of
voting in a Democratic set-up.
Mockstock: A Share Trading competition was organised on 18th February, 2019to train the students in Financial Market Investment.
Debate Competitionon “Interim Budget 2019-2020” was organised on 20th February,2019.The participants debated on the technical aspects of the Budget.
