GOVERNMENT JOB COUNSELLING
Department of B.Com (Investment Management) organized an Intra-department event “Government Job Counselling” with an objective of honing skills for government jobs. The event was conducted with its primary aim of making the students aware about the various job opportunities in the Government Sector. The event was successfully done, wherein the students engaged in an interactive discussion with the speaker. It was a great learning experience for all the participants.

Objective-
Department of B.com (Investment Management) organised the event for English communication. It was a great learning experience for all the participants.

Inclusive and Collaborative learning with Law Department.
Department of B.com (Investment Management) collaborated with the department of law for inclusive and collaborative learning. The main objective of this event was to learn scope of law in investment. We covered various topics such as basic of contract law and different types of contract laws. Dr. Huseinali Dattoo form law department conducted this six days of collaborative learning with full enthusiasm.

Entreprenow : Event on entrepreneurship
The department of Investment Management had organised an interactive session with one of the prominent entrepreneurs , Mr Arvind Agarwal from ARVEES India. He had been leading one of the fastest growing packaged chips and have made steady inroads into retail stores of D’Mart. The exposure gave learners a first hand experience into the exciting and challenging world of entrepreneurship. The speakers, Mr Arvind Agarwal and Mr Aman Agarwal addressed questions from the participants who have given a very positive feedback about the event.

Education Tour : MCX Exchange
Considering an endeavour to provide a practical touch and participative learning for second and third year students of BIM department, an educational tour to India’s largest commodity exchange was organised. They gained insight into working of an exchange, commodity markets, futures and how commodities and financial markets are being intertwined. 34 students participated and all gave a very strong positive feedback.

Resource Person – Mr. Kirtan Shah, CEO of Credence Wealth
On Saturday, 7th January, the BIM department of TCSC organized a guest lecture on investment, with the aim of teaching students about how investment works and how a smart investor thinks. The guest lecturer, Mr. Kirtan Shah, is the CEO of Credence Wealth, and talked about his own journey and success in investment, and how we can do the same.
The lecture was mainly focused on the 7 Truths of Investing, a fundamental set of true statements that underline the career and thought process of every investor. These truths were clearly proven to all students in attendance, and we were educated on how to follow and work with them. The most important of these truths was that the time to start investing is now. It was shown that the sooner one starts investing, the greater returns we will have in the end. The younger you are when you start investing, the more experience you will acquire and the greater advantage you will have.
The lecture was very well received by all students. The audience included students from various different commerce programs of TCSC, and members enthusiastically participated by asking questions throughout. The event was a total success.
CV writing workshop

Thakur college of science and commerce organised a CV making workshop for all the students. It was organised by the department of BCom Investment Management and the speaker was the co Ordinator of BIM itself, Mr Abhijit Ray. He was an amazing and inspiring speaker. The students felt a step closer to entering the corporate world.
The students were encouraged to create their CVs during the workshop itself.
Industrial Visit : Educational tour to NSE
An educational visit was organized for BIM students
The details are as follows –

Date & Time – February 3rd, 2023 – 12 PM – 3 PM
Venue – National Stock Exchange, BKC, Mumbai
Objective : To have a practical learning from the largest exchange in India, to understand the workings of an exchange, different nuances of equity trading and have an interactive discussion with the industry experts.
On February 3rd, this trip was organized with the purpose of educating students of the commerce stream regarding the importance and inner workings of the NSE. Students were directly taken to the NSE building in the Bandra-Kurla Complex and were taken on a brief tour and subsequent guest lecture in an auditorium.
Unsolicited photography and exploration were forbidden, but students were instead given a taste of the NSE’s workings through the lecture, which dove into detail regarding the practices and procedures observed within the NSE, and a brief explanation of how the stock market in India is organized and conducted in this institution.
The tour was very well received by the students from all 3 years who had dressed up professionally and presented them in accordance with the industry norms.
Live Trading Session on F & O segment organised and conducted by meritorious alumni

Objective : 1. Interaction with the Alumni 2. A practical session about trading in the Futures and Options segment, using live market movements.
A live Trading Session on F & O segment for the Second Year and third-year students which was organised by the B.com Investment Management Department. The futures and Options segment is an essential aspect of the stock market. This segment allows traders and investors to speculate on the future price movements of stocks, commodities, and currencies. The live trading session involves buying and selling futures and options contracts in real-time, with the price of the contracts fluctuating based on market demand and supply.
During a live trading session on the F&O segment, traders and investors monitor the market closely and analyze various technical and fundamental factors to make informed decisions about buying and selling contracts. They may use various strategies such as hedging, speculation, or arbitrage to make profits in the market.
The event proved to be a success with the help and cooperation of the speaker Mr Satyam Upadhyay. The second-year and third-year students found the event informative and knowledgeable.
Investor’s Fiesta ‘23
Date – 23rd - 24th February, 2023
Venue – Seminar Hall, TCSC
The event involved an in-depth lecture about common language used in stock trading. Students were treated to a special lecture from Mr. Milan Bhavishi, who took all those in attendance on a crash course regarding stock market terminology and trading strategies employed by smart investors.
Emphasis was placed on the different types of charts and volumes used to depict events in the stock market. Students learned the meanings of terms such as “support” and “resistance” and were given activity worksheets to help them identify when these terms could be used and why.
The second day of the event involved learning skills and application of the learning imbibed by the syllabus. A small set of different games and contests, all themed around the stock market were organised. These games had a very high number of participants, and reception was very high.

CSR Activity : Tree Plantation Drive
Date: 25th March.2023
Venue : Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Students and faculties of BIM department , Thakur college of science and Commerce visited the Sanjay Gandhi National Park had participated in a Tree Plantation Drive which was organized on 25th March 11:00 a.m. 15 students of participated in tree plantation activity.
The objective of this tree plantation was to create awareness about “Plant Tree – Save Planet”. Tree plantation aims to save the environment, afforestation and make the surroundings clean and green through a major Tree Plantation Activity. Around 10 tree saplings are planted during this activity.
Students’ Feedback related to this activity was:
1. “It was a very good experience to follow this tree plantation drive for saving our earth.”

Overall, a tree plantation drive is an important step towards achieving a sustainable and healthier environment. It is a great way for individuals, communities, and organizations to contribute to the fight against climate change and preserve the planet for future generations.
Value Education
Department of Investment Management in association with BBI and BFM organized an event on corporate values on 20th February 2023. Details are as follows –

Corporate values are a set of guiding principles and fundamental beliefs that help a group of people function together as a team and work toward a common business goal. These values are often related to business relationships and company growth.
From a business perspective, having a core set of company values is essential. Proper corporate values allow for the building of proper camaraderie between coworkers, fosters teamwork and assists with proper communication.
Corporate values should be built around a solid core vision that everyone can clearly understand and follow.
Some excellent examples of corporate values that everyone may be able to follow and understand include –
Being trustworthy.
Being quality conscious.
Being respectful.
Being willing to lean and understand
Being open and honest to employees and customers alike.
The students presented on the different frauds in the corporate sector which was the result of erosion of the corporate values. The students realised and understood why the formation of ethics is very important for the corporate values.
