Brandomania 2022
Date of the Event – 8th September 2022

Resource Person - Prof. Kiran Dalani, a renowned Advertising and Branding Professor
Brandomania 2022 an inter-college event was organised on 8th September 2022. The event was held in 3 rounds. 180 participants from all over India participated in the event. The participants were tested on their knowledge of Different Brands, Company Logos, Taglines, Product Positioning and rebranding etc. Prof. Kiran Dalani, a renowned Advertising and Branding Professor at Post Graduate Colleges was invited to judge the event.
• Round 1: Participants had to guess the brand logo that was provided.
• Round 2: Participants had to guess CEOs and Brand Taglines from the provided questionnaire.
• Round 3 – Rebranding a given product – Participants had to rebrand a given product creatively with a scalable perspective and pitch their rebranded product to the judge.
The event was full of recreation which brought in participants’ motivation and interest toward the business field.
Bull and Bear War
Date of the Event – 27th & 28th of July, 2022

The Bull and Bear War 2022, a mock Intraday trading, intra-collegiate event was organised on 27th & 28th of July, 2022. participants participated in the event Stock Simulator app was used for mock trading which facilitate the real time market price of the stock of the 30 volatile stocks providing the actual trading experience to the participants. The aim of event was to make students aware of the stock market functioning, and understand volatility in trades. Apps of Stock Market Simulator Game (Android users) and Stock Market Simulator (iOS users) were used. Students were trained to read the technical charts and fundamental briefing about the 30 companies was given to them a day prior to event. All participants referred to market conditions and played along with volatile market conditions.
The entire experience taught them the importance of fundamental financial analysis of every company and importance of selecting the right trade.
IAdvert

The Dept of Management Studies organised “iAdvert” - a Meme and Video competition on 28th June to 4th July . 146 contestants participated in two categories – Meme Competition and Videography Competition. The theme of the Video & Meme Competition was ‘Ethos of modern business enterprises.
The event was judged by Ms.Sangeeta Menon, Digital Marketing, Indian Institute of Digital Education. She also interacted with the participants and expressed her opinions on the psychological message conveyed through Memes and explained the fundamentals of a Video shoot and elements that need to be covered in a scene.
Ethics in Social Media

Social media is increasingly ingrained in our daily lives.
So, acquiring the necessary knowledge is essential!
Department of Management Studies had organised a seminar on ‘Ethics in Social Media’ for students to understand the importance of maintaining ethical values during social media usage. The conversation centred on their social media balance while discussing the positives and disadvantages. Ms.Sangeeta Menon during her presentation shared some stories of unethical social media usage in daily lives. The students gained confidence and also learned how to be presentable while promoting themselves, and all social media ethics were covered. The students came up with stupefying content and expressed their creativity. Based on the given themes, students came up with innovative ideas for content and participated enthusiastically.

Department of Management Studies (B.M.S.) had organised a very informative session on MBA Admission Formalities – How to write a statement of Purpose for the BMS students on 15th November, 2022. 94 students of BMS attended this Guest Lecture and asked all relevant queries that they faced during their form submission. The resource person, Palash Shotriya, an MA in English, having 10 years of experience in preparing students for management entrance exam.
Guest Lecture on ‘Indian Ethos in Modern Management’

A Guest Lecture on ‘Indian Ethos and Modern Management’ was held on 13th of December 2022. The session was held in Seminar Hall from 10:00AM onwards. The objective of the guest lecture was to relate Indian Ethos, the Mahabharata and Ramayana with Management. The objective was to point on strategies of Management that existed from and at that time.
The orator's presentation was interesting and he took ten value points of management, either be it self management, or work management. He then related those value points with characters of Hindu Scriptures like Lord Krishna for a ‘Great Negotiator’, Arjuna and Eklavya for ‘Being Master of All’ vs ‘Being Good at One Thing’. He tried to portray the concept of life to the students on a lighter yet affective note. His philosophy of Gen-Z aura helped students to connect and communicate with him.
APTIPRENEUR 2022-2023
The Department of Management Studies organised a 2-Day extravaganza of Management based Aptitude test, Management Games, Quiz and Treasure Hunt. Aptipreneur is the flagship event of BMS department initiated in 2012 to inculcate management aptitude in the students. It also has other management based events like Case-study Analysis for a corporates.
This Inter-collegiate event of 2 days saw a rush of participants from various colleges of Mumbai like Nagindas Khandwala, Hinduja, Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics and K.B.P.Hinduja College to name a few.
The events conducted are :
Apti-test – an online aptitude mock test on the lines of CMAT, CAT, SNAP all entrance test for management institutes followed by Personal Interviews and IELTS.
Apti-Hunt - A scavenger hunt game wherein students solved all clues based on management principles, logical reasoning and aptitude. The Treasure hunt event took place in the entire Thakur Village vicinity, various clues which required participants to use their logical and analytical skills were hidden at various outlets across the vicinity.
AdVenture – A marketing and Advertising Game testing the knowledge and flair for creativity in the marketing enthusiast. This event tested participants’ aptitude related to brand identities and advertisements and one who knows the most about the brand, wins at it.
Be a Manager – A Case study analysis event where the students are given a live corporate problem situation to think, calculate possibilities and derive at a feasible solution. This event consisted of a management quiz, case-study analysis and defence & allegation round.
Squidd Games – a fun filled exciting game of eliminations. Students used all their management principles of teamwork, co-ordination and effective direction to save themselves from being eliminated.
The event started on the 7th February, 2023 at 10 a.m. with Prin. Dr. (Mrs.) C.T.Chakraborty, Vice Principal (Degree-Science) Dr.S.D.Ajagekar and Vice Principal (Degree Commerce) Dr.Nishikant Jha doing the Flag-Off for the Apti Hunt Event. The 2 day of learning with fun events saw a total participation of 660 students.
The Event was co-partnered by Career Launcher, Instania Foods, Mumbai Waffle, UFO Fries etc.
Prizes like Trophies, Certificates and latest electronic devices like Google-Alexa, Smart Watch and hi-tech ear-phones were given to the winners.
8.Rebranding Online Image, Professional Outlook on LinkedIn Profile

On 14th December 2022, the Department of Management Studies, invited all budding employees and employers to an interactive and informative workshop on the topic – Rebranding Online Image. The concept of online image and the important role of the LinkedIn profile was explained. The relevance of Rebranding online image and having a Linkedin profile was segregated into seven sections. He showed relevant images in the powerpoint presentation and gave real-time life examples to prove the part. He kept the environment light-hearted with all the jokes he cracked and created a positive environment for the students to freely interact with him. He effectively communicated with students and guided them through the process of making an all-star LinkedIn profile which will help them further in their job-seeking journey.
9. Guest Lecture on ‘Career Avenues in MBA India-Abroad’

The Department of Management Studies conducted a Guest Lecture to brief students about various Career Avenues are available to graduate students. He focused on MBA as a career avenue. The objective was to help students to plan out their strategies from documentation to CV making for MBA abroad to information about various colleges, living and tuition expenses in various countries like Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Australia. The speaker engaged with the audience and solved various queries to devise various strategies for admission into esteemed MBA institutes.
Towards the end of the session, the speaker talked about how student can connect to him and his team to clear any doubt regarding their CV, IELTS and other career related queries.
10. Report on Chembuzzment

Dept of Chemistry in collaboration with Dept of Management Studies (B.M.S) had made a video Highlights of the Union Budget 2023. The Union Budget of 2023, our Hon Finance Minister Dr. Nirmala Sitharaman suggested a few changes in the taxation regime, giving opportunities to the common man to save, we created a small video of 5.30 minutes. This video briefs the young minds in simple language the entire budget and its applicability areas.. This video is followed by a small quiz, Chembuzzment to test their understanding on the concept. Chembuzzment – a brief online quiz to test students across the city about the conceptual understanding of the Budget.
Students scoring more than 60% were awarded with a certificate of Appreciation for the same.

11. Waste is Wealth
Date – 13th August, 2022
Venue – Quadrangle
Time – 11 a.m. onwards
!Waste is not Waste until you Waste it!
With this motive, students of B.M.S. had come up with creative ideas to create goodies to show their love for mother India.
On the occasion of 75 years to India’s Independence, the event was conducted to show our love for India. It was an initiative to make India clean and point out that waste can be reduced, reused and recycled. The efforts of students was displayed in the quadrangle on 13th of August to proudly exhibit creations of the students.
The students had outshined each other with the ideas of how creative they came be. The article were made of old CDs, pieces of cardboard, sticks, and other waste material looked absolutely fabulous. Their beauty had made people forget that they were made from waste material.
Overall, the event was a great success with students enjoying the process of searching for waste material they can create their articles with as well as the process of making Wealth out of Waste.
12. National Integration
Students of B.M.S. Department took an initiative to celebrate their unity and National Integration by making a huge National Flag made out of paper decorative glasses and bottles. This was an effort to celebrate 75 years to India’s Independence. The decor created was a tribute to our country, mother India. The flag was put up in the open Quadrangle for all students and teachers to see, take pride and take pictures.
The objective of this activity was to imbibe national integration among the youth and build a sense of country ownership in them.
13. Social Service –
The Department of Management Studies (B.M.S.) has collaborated with ‘Touching Lives’ – an NGO that looks into tutoring and educating the underprivileged children in the area Goregaon to Dahisar of Mumbai. This NGO extends a helping hand in tutoring and teaching the children through electronic devices and classroom teaching. B.M.S. students assists this NGO in making e-content, presentations, reading story books, additional help in preparation for exams and making videos for conceptual understanding.
The students will spend almost 60 hours in the second half of the academic year and will continue doing the same till they complete 180 hours in the next academic year.
An orientation session to explain and register them for this social activity was arranged for the students on 15th November, 2022 at 12 noon. The speaker Ms.Aditi briefed them about their roles and duties in assisting the NGO services.
14. Strength of Unity and Solidarity
On the occasion of 76th Independence Day on 15th August, 2022, Hon. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi in his address to the nation, has devised a ‘Panch Pran’ to make India a developed country by the time it celebrates its 100th Independence Day in 25 years.
The Panch Pran outlined are as follows:
Resolve to move the country ahead as a developed India
Erase all traces of servitude
Be proud of India’s heritage and legacy
Strength of Unity and Solidarity
Duties of citizens towards the nation
The Department of Management Studies (B.M.S.) took over the responsibility of creating a Community Engagement Wall (Display Wall) in the college premises where all students and teachers as major stakeholders were involved in defining the values and principles which are required for a nation. Students and teachers were asked to resemble a pre-decided state. Students dressed in the regional attire of the state and took pictures of important monument, festival, culture that binds them all together.
All these students finally stuck their pictures on the Community Engagement Wall (Display Wall) in the open quadrangle on the ground floor of the college building. Many students saw the wall, took pictures with the Community Engagement Wall and discussed the Strength of Unity and Solidarity of India.
The objective of this activity was to imbibe Unity and solidarity among the youth.
15. Extension Activity on Awareness about Safe Parking Practices in Mumbai

TCSC has partnered with Teach India, a CSR initiative of Times of India working relentlessly with responsible citizens to enhance their social & civic awareness. This interactive session aimed to make learners more sensitive and responsible towards utilization of parking spaces in our space crunched city of Mumbai. Students were asked their parking preferences and made to draw the most desirable driving and parking condition. Many students responded by pledging to be a responsible car driver.
16.Community Service –
TCSC has collaborated with Sparkling Wings, an NGO that caters to the education of the street children. BMS students are actively involved in this program. Every Sunday a group of 6-7 students teach the street children under the flyover bridges on the streets of Mumbai in pre-recognised spots from Goregaon to Dahisar.
BMS students spend some time with these slum children during festival time and distribute some sweets and festivities. This Holi, on 6th March, 2023 BMS students distributed snacks, sweets and water guns to these needy children. BMS students did a charity funding in their classes, collected stationary products like pens, books from the students and distributed They played games on mathematical aptitude and spent quality time with them.
17. International Conference of BMS - “Technology, Innovation and Resilient Entrepreneurship – Catalyst for Sustained Business Excellence”
The Department of Management Studies (B.M.S.), M.Com.(E-Commerce) and IQAC of Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Autonomous) in association with ICSSR and University of Mumbai had organized a One Day International Multidisciplinary Conference on “Technology, Innovation and Resilient Entrepreneurship – Catalyst for Sustained Business Excellence” on 28th September, 2022.
This multi-disciplinary conference aims to garner diverse futuristic ideas about the business models and strategies which are applicable for the local and global markets. The conference intends to be predecessor in acknowledging the principles of new markets and defining the new and innovative strategies for future of business.
The Conference was graced by prominent guests from academia and corporates like Dr.Suhas Pednekar, (Former Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai), Mr. Vivek Kapoor (Co-founder – Dineout India Ltd.) and Mr. Raghavendraswami Mynampathy (Senior Vice President/ Circle Head – RBB, HDFC Bank). Dr.Suhas Pednekar expressed his opinions about the new technology based education system connecting the entire globe, providing each aspiring student an opportunity to learn and evolve. Mr.Vivek Kapoor spoke about his start-up journey and the challenges every start-up faces to see success. Mr.RaghavendraSwami M. discussed the role of consumer preferences in redefining business set-ups and models in the Banking industry.
The Plenary Session was headed by Mr.Jonathan Westrup (Partner with Board Excellence and Principal Teaching Fellow at Warwick Business School, Ireland), Mr.Mehul Raiteetha (Prof – IIM- Indore) and Prof. Dr. Karunesh Saxena (Vice Chancellor – Sangam University)
The Conference received 106 research papers and almost 300 students attended the conference physically in the College auditorium. Research Participants attended the Conference on Online mode. The Guests unveiled the first Volume of International Journal for Advanced and Innovative Research Journal ISSN: 2278-7844 with Impact factor 7.36
