Events/Days/Activities

The academic year 2016 commenced on 5th July bringing in the new batch of students. Keeping up with the tradition, the newcomers were introduced to their senior batches at the fresher’s party – ‘Flamboyance’ with the theme Bohemian Bonhomie replete with dream catchers, hippie vibes and an aura of wilderness. Seniors and juniors displayed collaborative performances.
‘Iftaar' and ‘Halloween’ parties were organised in the months July and October respectively, to sensitize the students towards different cultures and religion.
The eventful year came to an end for the class of 2017 with the farewell ‘Narzana’17’. Keeping up with the theme “Uptown Swank” the juniors bid the seniors a goodbye in a lavish manner clad in elegant gowns and dapper tuxedos and just the right amount of nostalgia. The evening was filled with power packed performances, videos, photographs, shenanigans like the mock fashion show and awards.





Guest Lectures/Talk/Workshop/Seminar

On October 19th veteran actor and national award winning filmmaker ‘Ananth Narayan Mahadevan' was invited for a talk on his new project  “ Doctor Rakhmabai” and to help the students understand the various aspects of Cinema.
On 3rdDecember,2016 renowned Radio jockey Mr Pankaj Athavale was invited for a guest lecture on the topic “Future of Radio”.
On 20th February 2017, a Creative Career Conclave was organised in collaboration with Pearl Academy where eminent speakers like Shoyeb Cyclewala (Luxuary brand expert), SonikaTiwari (Journalist) and Neeraj Paul (Retail industry expert) guided students on various aspects of media.
A Seminar on Higher Education was organized, where the guest speaker Prof. Sonam Mansukhani from Flame University, enlightened the students about prospects after graduation.
A guest lecture by Shitu Anand was organised on 16th march 2017 on ‘Realities of Advertising’ giving the students a glimpse of the Ad world.

Industrial Visits

On 4th February 2017, a one-day industrial visit was organized for the students of TYBMM (Journalism) to MUST RADIO 107.8 and also Maharastra 1 News Channel office to enhance the practical simulation of the students and to let them have an overview on the activities related to working of the Radio and news channels.
An Industrial Visit for the third year BMM students was organized in the month of Decemebr, 2016. Students visited the notable Chocolate and Tea factories of Ooty, Silk factory in Mysore and the pristine Kodaikanal Lake amongst other remarkable sights bringing along innumerable memories as souvenirs.



Best Practices

Taskmaster- First year BMM students are given a set of activities every week. The objective is to make them exposed to lot of quality media content which helps them in excelling their creativity and temperament. The learners are given tasks such as watching a particular film or TV series, interviewing someone, compose or create some media content, field observation and everything that has feasibility for an undergraduate student. In this Practice, learners are given5-6 tasks every week. The students are required to maintain the tasks in a notebook. For every film or documentary, writing a review is mandatory and in the same manner for every live experience or observation, an analysis has to be written by the students.

Activity based learning

The students are made to organize Mock Press Conferences in the class as a PRO.
The students are given ‘Reporting’ Assignments, where they had to go in field as a Reporter to capture the real news.
Photography, Film Making, Ad Making, Radio Jockeying assignments.
Participation in all the College and Inter- College Events.
