Department of Commerce (Mass Media) - Activities & Events in 2018-19

Events/Days/Activities

• Iftaar party was organized on 13th June 2018, to celebrate the breaking of fast in the month of Ramadan.
• A warm welcoming Fresher’s party, ' Flamboyance 2k18 ' was organized with the theme, ' Natkhat 90s '.
• Taking pride of our Indian Constitution, the Department celebrated Republic Week from 18th January- 25th January 2019. The teachers and learners participated by reading Preamble, Pledge and National Anthem.
• A Farewell function ' Nazrana 2019’ with the theme of Band, Baja, Baarat aur Bidai' was organized on 15th March 2018. There were teary eyes remembering the beautiful memories created in the 3 years, as they spent in the college.

Guest Lectures/Talk/Workshop/Seminar

• A seminar on 'CSR' was arranged on 30th June 2018. This Seminar was conducted by Mr. Adarsh Mishra, a veteran media professional.
  
• A workshop on “How to Write a Script” was organized on 27th, July 2018, conducted by Mrs. Kanchan Pant, a media professional and writer.
  
• A guest lecture on CV making was arranged on 2nd Aug, in collaboration with Department of BC, whereby, learners were given one to one suggestions on how to make and enhance their CVs. Keeping the fun and warm welcome going on and to make them comfortable in front of the camera, an introductory 'Face the Camera' was organized on 4th August 2018.
  
• A workshop on Acting was arranged on 20th August, where prominent personalities from Industry like Suraj Chitre, Saiket Baghban, Kishore Soni and others were present.
  
• A film making workshop was conducted on 21st September, in collaboration with 9D academy. Mr. Yogesh Sharma (founder of 9D academy) and Dikshant Sharma (co-founder of 9D academy), were present in seminar to guide the learners.
  
• A guest lecture by the alumnus, Ms.Vishakha Agarwal, on ‘How to make Career in PR’ was conducted on 6th October. As part of Social responsibility LGBT Awareness Rally was organized on 13th October 2018.
  
• A Guest Lecture on ‘Copy Writing’ for TY learners was conducted by Dr. Hanif Lakdawala (Subject Expert, University of Mumbai), on 5th November, 2018. 
  
• An authorship seminar by Mr. Satish Purohit, was organized on 9th January for the learners to learn about the integrities of writing.
  

Industrial Visits

• The Industrial visit for 10 days to NEPAL (Pokhara - Kathmandu - Chitwan) from 19th to 29th December 2018 was organized. Students visited Tharu Tribal Village and conducted an ethnographic study.
  
• On the other hand, the industrial visit for the First and Second year learners went to Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani for 4 days in the month of January. (25th Jan-29th Jan, 2019).
