TEACHER’S ACHIEVEMENT 

Dr Rakhi Bhattacharya

Participated and completed 5 days workshop on “Linguistics in Action’’ organized by MSFDA- Department of Linguistics, Pune in collaboration with Deccan College, Pune conducted from 11th to 15th September, 2023. 

Participated and completed online one week FDP on “Advanced Pedagogical Techniques” from 31st October to 6th November, 2023 conducted by TEACHING LEARNING CENTRE of Ramanujan College, University of Mumbai under the aegis of Ministry of Education, PMMMNMTT

Attended one day seminar on “Indian Knowledge System in higher education curricula” by Prof K Ramasubramanian, IIT Bombay on 24th February,2024.

Attended one day FDP on “Teach Tech” organised by junior college of Thakur College of Science and Commerce  held on 15th April, 2024. 

Organized in the capacity of Teacher Incharge, Swami Vivekananda Association, a One-day National Conference on “Harmonising Wisdom by Unveiling Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and Indian Knowledge System for enhancing quality in Higher Education” in collaboration with IQAC of the college, University of Mumbai and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai held on 6th March, 2024.

Student’s Achievement

1. Nikhil Rane from MCom ( Ecommerce) part 1 won Gold Medal in Mumbai University Zone 2 –Best Physique.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED

1. GUEST LECTURE: A guest lecture was organized on SKILLS FOR CAREER IN ECOMMERCE on 9th September, 2024. One of the alumni of MCom(ecommerce) Mr Preetesh Kappalayil, Manager, TIRA, a Reliance Enterprise, was invited to speak on various skills required for professional development particularly in ecommerce industry. He is currently working as a  manager in TIRA, Reliance Enterprise.  

2. A skill course on BASICS OF DIGITAL MARKETING was conducted by MCOM(ECOM) Part 2 students. This course is a peer to peer learning course where senior students and Alumni of the department teach junior students about BASICS OF DIGITAL MARKETING.  The course commenced on 9th September, 2023 and was conducted online. 59 students from SYBMS  registered for the course and 46 students successfully completed the course. Total duration of the course with theory and practical was 45 hours. An exam was conducted in the end of the course and students who scored more than 50% in the exam, attended 60% of the lectures, and completed 60% of the assignments were given credits for successful completion of the course.  

3. Under CARRE( Concern and Respect, Recreate Environment) the department organised a visit to Govardhan Eco Village on 11th Jan, 2024. 31 students from MCOMECOM participated in the same. In the visit they were oriented about sustainable living and were practically introduced to the concept of rain water harvesting and waste treatment.

   
   

4. A guest lecture on BREAKING GENDER STEREOTYPE was organized in association with Department of Management studies on 5th October, 2023. Dr Paromita Chakraborty, HOD Department of English was invited to deliver lecture on the topic.

   
   

5. PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE 

For instilling values among the learners,  the students of the department attended a National Level conference on “ HARMONISING WISDOM BY UNVEILING SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S TEACHINGS AND INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM FOR ENHANCING QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION” organised by Swami Vivekananda Association and IQAC of the college in collaboration with University of Mumbai and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai on 6th March, 2024.  Many eminent speakers from different walks of life delivered lectures which enriched the thinking of the students and contributed towards making them a better human being. Many students participated in the event and sent their research paper to the conference.
