Activities & Events conducted in year 2024-25


ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED

EVENT ON NATIONAL INTEGRATION

  1. On the occasion of NATIONAL INTEGRATION, Department of Mcom(Ecommerce) and BCom(SIM) along with Department of Entrepreneurship and Department of Digital Marketing organised Intra-College  poetry competition in mother tongue. The event was named BHASHA SAMAGAM. The students were asked to prepare poetry in the language of their mother tongue and recite it on 13th September, 2024. Around 66 students participated in this recitation competition from across the college.



EVENT ON GENDER EQUALITY

  1. To express solidarity with the concept of GENDER EQUALITY, the department of SIM and MCOM(ECOM) organised OPEN MIC on 24th Jan, 2025. The students were encouraged to share their experience of stereotyping at home or at work places. 25 students participated in the event. They narrated their experience where stereotyping has restricted them to pursue matter of their interest. More girls were found to have compromised with their life choices due to stereotyping at home. Even boys have to conform to stereotypical behaviour expected from them.

 





STUDY VISIT

  1.  A visit was organised to RBI museum on 14th December, 2024. 36 students from Department of SIM and MCom (E-Commerce) joined in the visit. The students got exposed to the concept of banking system for better management of money through a vivid video. The display of coins and paper money also helped them to understand the evolution of Rupee as a currency over the years.


GUEST LECTURE ON CAREER DEVELOPMENT

  1. AN ONLINE  GUEST LECTURE was organized on CAREER IN ECOMMERCE on 8th February, 2025. Ms Swarupa Phatak, an alumni of MCom(Ecommerce) who is currently working with Japanese ecommerce giant, Rakuten was invited to talk on skills that students should learn to establish themselves in a career in Ecommerce.  23 students participated and was hugely benefited.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

  1. An INDUSTRIAL VISIT was organized to the Parle factory in Ambernath  on 4th February, 2025 along with the department of Management studies. 18 students from BCom(SIM) and 13 students from MCom(Ecommerce) participated in the visit. Students got exposed to the manufacturing process and also had an understanding of the logistic and supply chain followed by the company to reach out to the consumer. They also learned about the management of broken biscuits and even saw the place where biscuits are made and packaged. It was a trip which added to their learning experience. 





ENTERNET

  1. The flagship event of Department of MCom(Ecom) and Department of SIM organized ENTERNET on 11th Feb, 2025. The event had two games named SIMTASTIC QUIZ and LOGOLOGIC. SIMTASTIC is a quiz game where the questions are based on ecommerce companies and their business and founders. LOGOLOGIC is a puzzle made of logos of different companies which students have to solve to win a prize. 53 students from different department participated in this event.

EVENT ON CARRE

  1. To induce awareness about environment and emphasize on the philosophy of  reduce, reuse and recycle, Department of MCom(Ecommerce) and Department of SIM utilized all the materials used by other department for making marketing campaign for their flagship event ENTERNET. The paints, brushes, decorative materials  etc were also reused to minimize excessive consumption. This conscious action demonstrated ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS among students.
