Department of Computer Science - Activities & Events in 2022-23



Students’ achievements:

NSS achievements.


1.Ms. Deepshikha Singh is representing our NSS unit by marching on Kartavya path New Delhi on 26th January, 2023.

She was selected for the Pre-State  selections for National Republic Day Camp held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur and for the Pre-NRD Camp held at Sardar Patel University, Anand, Gujarat. 


 




2.Ms. Sachi Saunshimath was selected for the National Adventure Camp held at ABVIMAS, Solang, Manali Himachal Pradesh 


3.Ms.Bhargavi Bhagat and Mr. Aadit Bind  attended the State level Avhaan camp held at Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhary North Maharahtra University, Jalagaon.






4. Ms.Srushti Harishchandra Tribhuvan From 1st year computer science has completed NCC “B” certificate.

5. Nirmala memorial foundation college of commerce and science organized Technotsav in which Ms. Kajal Vishwakarma, Mr. Rohit Gupta and Mr. Srinidhi Bandi from computer science department participated  won the Best College Trophy.


6. Mr. Krish Shriharsh Kaushik from TY B.Sc. Computer science has represented Mumbai University  Inter college Football tournament and won the championship.



Departmental activities:

  • Under the National Integration activity, a Poetry Competition was organized by the department on 16th July 2022.  The activity was conducted by Ms. Siddhi Birwadkar and 21 students have participated.



  • Database Administrator workshop was conducted by department of computer science from  25th July 2022 to 12th August 2022. 152 students have registered for the workshop . This workshop was conducted by Ms. Anjali wagh and Ms. Riddhi Mishra. 

  • The guest session on “Cyber Security - The Change that the world need” was organized on 21st January 2023. The session was delivered by Mr. Akash Mishra and Ms. Neha Kamble compered the session. From computer Science department 168 students attended the lecture.


  • Learners who have taken admission in first year with no computer science background, department conducted bridge course from 25th July 2022 to 12th August 2022 for 15 hours. 67 students have attended the session and were benefitted in understanding the current technology in the field of computation.Ms. Siddhi Birwadkar and Ms. Jeenal Jain have conducted this course.


  • A course on English communication was conducted by Ms. Jeenal Jain for 10 days from 20th Feb 2023 . Total of 43 students have completed this course. The course comprises of learning grammar, spoken communication, presentation, story telling using images and group discussion on technical and non-technical topics.


  • A two day workshop on “PHP” was organised on 25th and 26th March 2023from 9am to 5pm. Mr. Yash Prajapati conducted the workshop and the program was compered by faculty Mr. Mahesh Gurunani. 43 students have participated in the workshop.



  • Under the  Industry Institute collaboration – an Industrial Visit was organized in the software industry-  TESTRIQ QA LAB, Mumbai on 20th January 2023. Ms. Siddhi Birwadkar has led the team to the industry. The students were given exposure to live software testing projects. 99 students from final year have participated in this one day  industrial visit.


  • Guest lecture on “Eye tracking and its applications” was  conducted by Mr. Ronak Jain, C++ developer on 25th March 2023 . His session includes C++/ QtQML/Smooth pursuit algorithm, saccades algorithm . 72 students have participated in the session.

  • Completed MA in Yogashastra from Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit VishwaVidyalaya, Ramtek, (Govt. of Maharashtra University) with Grade O (Summer 2022)

  • Completed the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s safeguarding module on June 16, 2022

  • Earned Badge “AWS Academy Educator”, Issued by Amazon Web Services Training and Certification, Badge issued on June 18, 2022

  • Winning Admirable Research Awards in the International Research Awards on Science,Technology and Management (online), INSO 2022 Awards

  • Member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) (Member No: 108508)


FDP:

  • Participated and completed One Week online FDP on “Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence” organized by Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhimavaram 534243 and Blackbuck Engineers Pvt Ltd from 25-31 May 2022

  • Completed one-month Common Yoga Protocol Training Course from May 21st to June 21st, 2022 at Dept of Yoga, Degree College of Physical Education, HVPM, Amravati Maharashtra

  • Successfully completed an online one week Faculty Development Programme on “Academic Research Writing” from 4 -10 June, 2022 and obtained Grade A+. Teaching Learning Centre, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi, under the aegis of MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PANDIT MADAN MOHAN MALAVIYA NATIONAL MISSION ON TEACHERS AND TEACHING.

  • Participated and completed the One Week Faculty Development Program on Augmented & Virtual Reality with Data Science, Organized by Department of EXTC & CSE, P.R.Pote Patil College of Engineering & Management in association with PANTECH E LEARNING on 6th-11th June 2022

  • Successfully completed 30 Days Master Class on Machine Learning at Pantech e Learning Pvt. Ltd. Chennai, in association with APSSDC, Govt of AP (30 May 2022 to 28 Jun 2022)

  • Successfully completed ISTE approved Online/SF-STTP/FDP Programme on “Robotic ProcessAutomation Design and Development V3.0” held during 27.06.2022 to 01.07.2022 organized by Thakur College of Engineering and Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

  • Participate in the Online course on “Machine Learning to Deep Learning: A Journey for Remote Sensing Data Classification”, ISRO, Dept of Space, GoI. (4th July 2022 to 8th July 2022) 

  • Participated in One-Week Online National Faculty Development Program/Certificate Program on "Education in 21st Century: Implementing NEP 2020 for Quality Education in HEIs" organized by Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre, a Centre under PMMMNMTT, Ministry of Education, Government of India in collaboration with Department of Economics and IQAC Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Autonomous) held from 09th to 16th August 2022.

Ms. Siddhi Birwadkar

FDP:

  • Successfully completed Moodle Test for Teachers teston 2022-07-17 organized at Thakur College of Science and Commerce by GIRISH TERE with course material provided by the Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay. Passing an online exam, conducted remotely from IIT Bombay, is a prerequisite for completing this Faculty Development Programme.

Course Completion:

  • Certificate for completion  of AWS Academy Graduate - AWS Academy Introduction to Cloud

Semester-1 of  60 hours. Certificate issued on 26th December 2022.
