A Guest lecture was organized on 6th September 2017 by Mina Tilakraj on‘Generation Y :- Inheritors & Creators of future world’.She emphasized on the point that India has one of the best talent & culture in the world.Importance of Yoga was also explained by describing how it helps your body to align with universal energy.Philosophy of Karma & importance of respect towards women was also explained.


Guest Lecture of ‘Vinod Shukla’,National President of ‘Pandit Dinadayal Upadhyay Manch’ on ‘Ecological Environment’ was organized on 29th January 2018.He took oath from students to work for protection of Mother Earth.He advised students to have 360 degree mind- A Universal Mind & to get united to become global citizens. Physical fitness & spiritual elevation is needed in today’s world. Plastic glasses should not be used as they pollute seawater.Amount of plastic is more in seawater as compared to fishes.Organic farming should be preferred over chemical fertilisers.We all must shine like a star as we all are children of ‘Satyam,Shivam,Sundaram’ nature.



Poster Making Competition was organized on 12th August 2017, based on the theme :-‘Environmental Awareness’.Learners presented variety of concepts in it like- Save Water,Save trees,Reduce,Reuse,Recycle,Prevent Pollution,Earth is the only planet having life etc.



An Intercollegiate Competition ‘Paryavaran Mitravatt’ was organized on 19th September 2017.Tremendous response of almost 200 students was received from variety of colleges across Mumbai.Almost 20 different colleges like-NM, Elphinstone, Valia, Nagindas Khandwala, Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan, Lords International, Kishinchand Chellaram, Balbharati, Thakur Polytechnique etc. had participated. Inaguration was done by ‘Sangita Shirname’,  an INSEED (NGO) Member by tree plantation.Competitions included Quiz Competition comprising two rounds one on General Environmental Awareness & another on current affairs related general knowledge.Poster competition was also organized based on the theme ‘Environmental Awareness’. ‘Race for Recycle’(What’s your product’?) was organized.Learners created many useful products like penstand,showpiece out of randomly selected waste material like bottle corks,Ribbons,Newspapers,Paper Cups,CD’s.Elphinston college won the trophy for Best College.



From 30th September 2017 to 2nd  October 2017 ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan’ was organized.Oberoi Garden of Thakur Village was a starting point.Learners cleaned up streets of Thakur Village especially by removing plastic garbage.Rally was also organized informing people about importance of cleanliness.All shopkeepers were requested to keep one dustbin outside their shop so that passerby people will not litter on roads.Thakur village residents were motivated to adopt plastic free lifestyle via slogans like- ‘Plastic Hatao,Desh Bachao’ & ‘Thakur Village humari shaan, Plastic ka mitao namonishaan’


Essay Writing & Elocution Competition was organized on 4th October 2017,based on the theme ‘Swachchhata Abhiyaan-A success story’.Learners gave very crucial information about the cleanliness motive of Gandhiji & also on the statistics of construction of number of public & private toilets allover India as per Swachchh Bharat objectives & principles of our honourable Prime Minister ‘Shri. Narendra Modi’

Debate competition was organized on 22nd February 2018,based on the theme- ‘Use of Plastic-Can or Ban’.Learners against the use of plastic explained how marine life is getting affected severely due to use of plastic. Use of plastic should be controlled by the way of tax. Learners in support of use of plastic counteracted & presented their points that-Use of plastic saves trees as it replaces forest products such as cotton,wood & paper.Plastic is actually not a problem.People using plastic is a problem as they throw them at inappropriate place..And thus ultimately the groups of learners supporting the use of plastic emphasized their points in more effective way.

Objective of Practice :-To safeguard marine ecosystem by removal of hazardous plastic waste

Concept of Practice:-To save mangrove vegetation from hazardous effects of plastic waste

Venue :- Mangove Vegetation of Versova & Lokhandwala,Andheri (West)
Actual Activity :- Clean Mangrove Campaign was organized from ‘Mumbai Mangrove Conservation Unit of Divisional Forest Officer’ of Kurla (East) at Versova,Andheri (West).In this campaign,learners were introduced to the chapter of  Mangroves & taken to the field trip of ‘The wilds of Mangroves’.Then mangroves clean up activity was organized where a lot of plastic garbage was cleared up.
Outcome:- Participant learners realized harmful effects of toxic plastic on crucial mangrove vegetation.
