Department of Film, Television & New Media Production - Activities & Events in 2020-21
The Department is the breeding ground for budding filmmakers, technicians and to prepare the students for various aspects production of Film, Television and other medium. This 3-year undergraduate program meets the technical requirements of the field and provides the given practical exposure required for the learners.
Under the guidance of IQAC, BAFTNMP conducted a National Level Webinar on 22 May to 24 May 2020. Various aspects of films were discussed. More than 150 participants were present.
Prof. B.P. Sinha –Retired Professor, Ranchi University has spoken about ‘Tribes and their interpretation in Indian Cinema’ His Film Aakrant was also discussed and explained by him.
Mr. Gaurav Mishra - Architect, Masters of Architectural Conservation was the resource person for Day 2. He spoke about 'The portrayal of Monuments in India Cinema'.
Mr. Bharat Shitole – Founder and Creative head of BHU Production was the speaker of the third day of the webinar series. He spoke about ‘Lockdown and film making’.
Master Class’ with Filmmaker, Writer, Producer and Musician Aditya Kripalani.
Department of BAFTNMP organized a ‘Master Class’ on Saturday, 3rd October 2020 with Filmmaker, Writer, Producer and Musician Aditya Kripalani. His films like Tikli and Laxmi Bomb and ‘Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal’ are a radical feminist feature film and the belief of this movie subsisted very clear & quotes that men will only understand the plight of women when they are reciprocated with the same. The ‘Master Class’ was extremely interactive with the participation of more than 250 students.
Guest Lecture on “: Journey of Message through films” was the interactive session by Sandeep Anand (Actor) in which he has talked about agenda such as how entertainment started, how it matured, and what we can do to make it best and better for us together. He mentioned the Edward Muybridge and his early experiments with moving pictures. Event was conducted on 8h April 2021. 80 students were benefitted from the same.
Guest Lecture on “Drama and Emotions” was the interactive session by Surendra Pal Singh (Actor) . He talked about observations, reading and imagination as tool in performing the role which you have not experienced. He also talked about director’s vison and how director is able to extract the talent from the actor and detail the scene and expectations. Event was conducted on 8h April 2021. 70 students were benefitted from the same.
Guest Lecture on “Understanding Cinema” was the interactive session by Mr. Ankit Sinha, Writer & Film critique. He has talked about Film itself is built for need for understanding life. Cinema captures and shows movement in life, Cinema brings Rhythm , gives meaning to physical movement. Event was conducted on 9th April 2021. 80 students were benefitted from the same.
6th Khajuraho International Film Festival, from 17th to 23th December, 2020 was organized and curated by the learners of the Department.
