Guest Lectures


A Value addition Guest Lecture, on the topic “Mind full and Mindful” was conducted on 26th September 2020. The speaker for the session was Das Gadadhar Das, Director, Bhakti Vedanta Vidya Bhawan- an education wing of ISKON. The objective of the session was to cultivate the human values among students and to handle the stress in this busy world. Total 400 learners participated through Zoom Platform.



A Seven Days Certificate course was conducted from 08th October 2020 to 14th October 2020 in association with IQAC on “Shrimad Bhagwad Gita” . The resource person was Devshekhar Vishnu Das, B.E in information technology, Member of ISKON. The objective of this certificate course was to improve the clarity of mind, better focus, and happiness, and to encourage students to live life with honesty, discipline, kindness, integrity and all purity. Students were awarded certificates and one copy of Shrimad bhagwad Gita sent through courier to all participants. Total 50 Students completed the course & which was conducted on Zoom Platform.



A Guest Lecture was conducted on “Study Abroad & Credit Transfer Program” by Mr. Manoj Patki, Managing Director at Star United on 09 th February, 2021. The objective of this session was to introduce our International courses to the students and make them aware about the whole procedure.100 learners attended the session through Zoom Platform.


A Two Days Workshop on “BLOCKCHAIN” from 12 th to 13 th February, 2021 was organized for the learners. Mr. Pranav Shastri,  Director Programming Fiesta, Consultant, Technical Trainer, Academic Counselor provided expertise in this technology. The objective of the work shop was to upgrade the skills of the students and to acquaint the learners with Blockchain concepts and its various applications. A total of 61 learners participated through Zoom Platform.



A session on “Career Counseling” was conducted for Graduate and Post Graduate students by Mrs. Sulochana Patta, Founder, Samara Consulting Services on 13 th February, 2021. The objective of the session was to make students aware about all career options available after finishing the course and to know latest requirements of the industry Total 450 students attended the session through Zoom Platform.


A Value added session was conducted on “Financial Management at Age 21” by Mr. Omkar Singh, Coordinator, Department of DS, on 15 th February, 2021. The objective of this session was to make students aware about importance of Investments and to make students understand the relevance of saving and financial systems. 475 learners attended the session on Zoom Platform.



A One Day Workshop on “TABLEAU”, a new machine learning tool used for Data visualization was organized for Post Graduate and Third year learners on 06 th March, 2021. The resource person was Mr. Hasan Parvez Siddiquee, Data Analyst, CRG Solutions PVT LTD. The objective of the workshop was to upgrade the skills of the students and to know emerging technologies in the field of IT. He provided hands on training on Tableau to the learners and explained all practical perspective required in order to work on tableau in industry. A total of 106 learners participated through Google Meet Platform.



On 14 th march 2021 an atmosphere of enthusiasm descended upon second year students where by the students got an opportunity to brush up their coding skills by participating in the technical session on Coding Skills Enhancement by expert speaker Mr. Mahendra
Sharma (MD, RDA, InfoTech). Many languages like Javascript and its uses, Scala and its scopes, Python and its paradigm and Java with its Bugs and Assembly Languageswere discussed giving brief information and in depth knowledge about its future, aspects Of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality as Well. The objective of the session was to upgrade the coding skills of the learners & to know about new languages used in the industry. Total 100 learners participated through virtual platform Zoom.



The ORIGIN 2021 was organised by Department of IT in collaboration with Science Association on 20 th March 2021 through zoom platform. Under graduate and post graduate students of science stream participated. Total 85 groups from different departments of science had participated. These groups were divided in seven different tracks. There was a group of seven judges, expertise in different subject areas, who have evaluated the groups work. The objective of this event is to provide a platform for students to showcase their innovative and entrepreneurial skills & to motivate the approach of innovation and research amongst the participants at different levels of academics. Three winners from each department have been declared.




Certificate course on “Drupal”, was organized on 27 th March, 2021. Drupal is content management software. It's used to make many of the websites and applications we use every day. Drupal has great standard features, like easy content authoring, reliable performance, and excellent security. It's also a great choice for creating integrated digital frameworks. The resource person was Mr. Nitesh Sethiya, Drupal Technical specialist at Syngenta Services Pvt Ltd.gave an insight on how to develop web related application. A total of 45 learners participated through Zoom platform.



Certificate course on “Android Application Development” started on 27 th March 2021 and ends on 03 rd April. Android software development is the process by which applications are created for devices running the Android operating system. The experts
were Mr. Vikas K Bajpai, Senior consultant, Capco Pvt ltd. & Mr Ajit Amarnath Sharma, Deputy Manager, Angel Broking Pvt ltd. A total of 79 learners participated through virtual platform Zoom.

International INFOTHON Conclave 2K21

27th February 2021


Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Departments of Information Technology of Thakur College of Science and Commerce (TCSC), Kandivali, Mumbai in association with UDIT, University of Mumbai had organized a One day International INFOTHON Conclave 2K21 on “ Research Publications & Intellectual Property Rights” under SKILL & TALENT ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) on 27th February 2021


The core objective of the conclave was

  • To have Interactions with National/International group of Academician, research scholars, expert from Industry and Exchange of Ideas, knowledge, experiences and wisdom
  • To understand the role of Research in identifying intellectual property
  • To Encourage innovations and creativity in universities and colleges
  • To understand the role of intellectual property in protecting human intellect for future business

Inauguration started with the welcome address by Respected Dr. C.T. Chakraborty, Principal TCSC, followed by Dr. SK Singh, Convener of the conclave, Coordinator IQAC, HOD, Dept. of IT who has shared the information about college and IQAC. Conclave Secretary Ms. Jyotsna Anthal spoke about conclave and highlights the objectives of the conclave.


Inaugural address was given by Guest of honors and by the chief guest. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Nishikant Jha, Vice Principal-, Commerce. Three sessions were conducted in the conclave. The sessions were based on the theme Research Publications & Intellectual Property Rights. The Resource persons were expertise in their areas.


SESSION I

The first Session of the day was delivered by Prof. Sanjay K. Sharma, Associate Dean (Research) JECRC University, Jaipur, India on the topic Research Publications and Patents: Comparing & Contrasting. The purpose of this session was to develop the understanding what research work should be published and how research publications are different from Patent Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Vijay Jadhav, Dean Science.


SESSION II

Second session of the day was addressed by Dr. Madhulika Bangre, Women scientist C & Senior Associate (Patent) at Anand and Anand IP Law Firm, Noida, UP on the topic “Importance of Intellectual Property Rights in Universities and Colleges”. The Purpose of this session was to make participants understand, how students and teachers can file the patents and what processes to be followed at college and university level. Hands on demonstrations been given and it was well appreciated by all participants. Participants had a nice Question answer round during the session. Session was anchored by Ms. Poonam Jain and Ms. Sherilyn Kevin. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Parul Singhal, Dean Commerce.


SESSION III

After the lunch break session III had started at 3PM, The speaker of the session was Dr. Deepak Mehra, Innovation & IPR Catalyst, and Founder, VIDURNEETI on the topic Patent: A journey from Innovation to Establishment. The Purpose of the session was to understand all technicalities of filing patents, how revenue can be generated, fee structure of patent filing and difference between published patents and granted patents. The speaker discussed all categories of Intellectual property Rights i.e. copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and Patent, what ideas can be patented discussed in detail. This session was highly interactive. Session was anchored by Dr. Rupal Shroff and Ms. Sherilyn Kevin. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Nishikant jha, Vice Principal, Commerce.

Conclave Summary report was presented by Conclave Convener, Dr. S.K.Singh, and concluded the conclave.

More than 2000 participants registered and engaged in all three sessions across the globe. ECertificates were awarded to all participants. Sessions were coordinated by Dr. S.K.Singh (Convenor), Mrs. Jyotsna Anthal (Secretary) and Mr.Anand Upadhayay (Secretary). Technical coordinators were Mr. Girish Tere and Mr. Omkar Singh.

Furthermore, a team of talented students; Brij mangukiya, Vaibhav Sharma, Neeraj Pal, Abhijit Patil, Parth Sarvaiya , Pawan S Kundar, Akhilesh Kushwaha, Anand Singh, Debashish Pradhan and Mahesh Mishra(Alumnus) have contributed to the best of their capacity in organizing the conclave All the three sessions were telecasted across digital channels.
