1. A networking session “ALUMNI CONNECT” on latest trends in technology and industry was organized on 8th July 23 for first- & second-year students in seminar hall. Three alumni members Mr. Ajit Singh - India Head, Infogen Labs USA (Batch of IT 2004), Mr. Dhirender Singh - Principal Architect, Datamind (Batch of IT 2004), Mr. Mahendra Sharma - Sr Vice President, Morgan Stanley (Batch of IT 2010) highlighted the latest trends in technology and industry. They had meaningful interactions with the current students. Total 200 students interacted with the alumni.

2. An orientation session on the Learn & Earn program was organized for post graduate students of IT on 15th July 23 by the team of Infogen Labs USA, center of Excellence. Learners were made aware about internship opportunities offered by the Center of Excellence. Total 75 students were present for the session.

3. A session on ‘Career Counseling- Preparation for professional Interview” was conducted for 400 Graduate and Post Graduate students by Mr. Rajeev Saigal, Regional Partner Director, Partner Ecosystem & Alliance at TATA Consultancy Services on 15th July, 2023. The session helped the learners to understand the prospective career options, how to handle the unexpected questions or situations with ease. The mock interviews were conducted to give the real time experience to the learners in batches. 

4. Under the Skill & Talent Enhancement Program (STEP) another chapter is added “INFOTHON Conclave 2K23 - Coding Skills Enhancement” by Mr. Mahendra Sharma, Sr. Vice President, Morgan Stanely.. Mr. Sharma through the interactive session tried to provide an insight into programming languages, its usage and address on “Future Technologies: Data Science and AI ”.  A total of 150 learners benefited from the session conducted on 15th July 2023 in the morning slot.

5. An awareness session on ‘Menstrual Hygiene, Grooming & Personality Development’ was organized by the Department of IT & DS in collaboration with P&G on 12th AUG '23 with 150 participants. The Guest Trainer was Ms. Sunita Bandekar, trainer from P&G team. As a gesture of appreciation, each attendee was presented with thoughtful goodies.

6. Health awareness session "Food for Better Health" held on August 19, 2023, aimed to educate learners on the importance of nutrition for overall well-being. Ms. Eram Khan, Head Nutrition & Dietician, Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai was the Resource person. Total of 100 learners attended the session. 

7. The department of IT successfully hosted a technical training workshop for Msc IT learners to train them in key areas of web development, including HTML, CSS, C#, database management, and PHP scripting. The workshop aimed to address industry requirements and enhance learner’s skills and knowledge in these domains from 2nd September 2023 to 6th September 2023 in the lab. Learners were engaged in practical exercises and successfully equipped learners with essential skills in HTML, CSS, C#, database management, and PHP scripting, aligning with industry requirements. 8. The Department of IT & DS celebrated FIT INDIA WEEK consecutively for the second year by organizing a friendly match between students and teaching, Non-teaching staff on 15th December 2023 and Intra-Departmental Cricket Tournament on January 23rd & 24th, 2024. The lively atmosphere of sportsmanship and team spirit was fostered by the convergence of IT & DS learners during this two-day event. Total 160 learners participated.  

9. A one-week certificate course on Shri Bhagavad Gita from 2nd January to 8th January 2024, was arranged in an attempt to offer a value-added comprehensive approach to education and personal growth of the learners. The goal of the Programme was to provide learners with both technical and critical life skills by fusing old wisdom with new information. The resource person H G Madhusudhan Vishnu Das, Faculty at Vrindavan Institute of Higher Education and IBMV (ISKCON) Bhagwat Mahavidyalaya). Total 420 learners completed the course successfully. Every learner was provided with a copy of Shri Bhagavad Gita and certificate. 

10. INFOTHON Conclave 2K23 under the Skill & Talent Enhancement Program (STEP) came up with a Seven days’ workshop on “Power BI & Tableau” to enhance the skills of IT learners. Data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau have become indispensable for businesses in today's data-driven world. This workshop aimed to explore the capabilities, features, and benefits of both platforms in assisting organizations in making informed decisions based on their data. In-house faculties Ms. Poonam Jain, Ms. Manpreet Hire, Ms. Sana Khan & Mr. Mahesh Kudalkar was the resource person & conducted the workshop from 9th Jan to 16th Jan, 2024 from 14:00 Hrs to 16:00 Hrs. Total 200 learners attended the workshop.

11. On Saturday, 13th January 2024 Department of IT & DS had successfully organized a seminar on "Nurturing mind: A Journey to Mental Wellness" in collaboration with Zenup Health. The primary objective of the event was to shed light on the importance of mental health and well-being. The seminar featured two distinguished resource persons, Psychiatrist Dr Neil Pawar and Associate Psychologist Ms. Nidhi Patodia. The session was conducted at seminar Hall with 300 students.

12. The Department of Information Technology and Data Science added another chapter in HARMONY WITH NATURE “ Cycle for Change” Awareness Campaign under the CARRE program (Connecting All to Respect & Recreate the Environment) from 7th Feb to 10th Feb '24 was a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation methods and raising awareness about the importance of reducing carbon footprint. On 9th Feb,2024 Cycle Rally was organized in Thakur Village. Almost 500 students participated in a set of 50 learners per batch on bicycle. The event encouraged students to actively participate in creating eco-friendlier environment and inspired them to make a positive impact on the planet.

13. Plantation drive was organized by the learners of IT department under the CARRE-  Harmony with Nature program (Connecting All to Respect & Recreate) with GREEN INDIA MISSION of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change, Govt of India from 28th Feb’24 to 2nd March 24 in the TCSC campus. Thakur Jitendra Singh ji, Trustee, Thakur Educational Group, was the chief guest, Dr. CT Chakraborty, Principal of the college and Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh the Head of the Department of IT planted the trees and graced the event with their presence and provided guidance towards this cause. Total 138 saplings were planted and more that 200 learners participated in the drive. The awareness drive for environment sustainability was conducted on 27th, 28th & 29th of February 2024 and a total of 80 classes were covered by the learners covering 5000 learners on campus. 

14.  Mr. Ravi Philip, Head –International Marketing (South Asia, Middle East & Eastern Europe) University of the Fraser Valley, delivered a guest lecture on "Study Abroad & Credit Transfer Program” on 2nd Feb, 2024 at 11:00am. The guest lecture was well attended by 200 learners of IT & DS who were informed about procedures for pursuing higher education overseas.

15. Learners of the Department of IT and DS visited St. Joseph’s Convent (Assisi Bhavan), an elderly care facility in Goregaon (East), Mumbai, Maharashtra. This institution provides care for approximately 93 individuals, spanning ages from fifty to ninety years, encompassing both the able-bodied and the physically challenged. The primary objective of this visit was to expose our students to foster the sense of social responsibility and community involvement in less fortunate aspects of society, fostering a sense of appreciation towards aiding those in need. Eighteen learners from IT and DS eagerly volunteered, accompanied by their teacher: Ms. Jyotsna Anthal. This compassionate endeavor unfolded on April 18th, 2024, from 16:30 to 18:30 hours.
