In the Academic year 2021-22, Department of Botany, organized various Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities. The details of the activities conducted are as follows:
Workshop:
Department of Botany organized a workshop (online) on “Draw the Diagrams” on Tuesday, 19th October, 2021; Dr. Vinit Vaidya was the Resource person, explained about Importance of diagrams, how to draw scientific diagram, and how to explain the concepts based on the same. 60 students attended the workshop.
On 27th October, 2021, Department of Botany organized a workshop (online) on “Understanding MCQs” for F.Y. B.Sc. CBZ students, to make them aware of Internal examination pattern and how to deal with such questions. Dr. Vinit Vaidya was the Resource person for the session. 42 students from F.Y. B.Sc. CBZ attended
the workshop.
Department of botany organized a workshop on “Refer the Reference Book” on 12thApril, 2022 from 2.00 pm to 4.00 p.m. for the students of F. Y. B. Sc. (CBZ) and S. Y. B. Sc. (CB),to make them understand importance of the reference books in higher studies and practical knowledge to refer the reference books. 37 students participated in the workshop. Dr. Vinit Vaidya was the Resource person for the workshop.
Webinar:
On 6th August, 2021, Department of Botany organized an online webinar on “Green Initiatives for Sustainable Life” under Environmental Issues, for S.Y. B.Sc. T. Y. B.Sc. & M.Sc. Part-II students. Resource person Mrs. Rashmi Joshi, Environment Consultant addressed the students. About 26 Participants attended the session.
Guest Lecture:
On 28th September, 2021 Department of Botany in collaboration with Science Association, organized an Online Guest lecture on "Novel aspects & Challenges of High demand medicinal Aloe vera plant and its future prospects" on zoom platform. Resource person Dr. Kiran Patruni, Assistant Professor, Department of Biosciences, Indrashil University, Gujrat, addressed the teachers and students from F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y. B.Sc., T. Y. B.Sc .& M.Sc. class from Science streams. More than 120 participants attended the session.
Department of Botany organized an Online Guest lecture on "Green Revolution and Future of Indian Agriculture" on zoom platform on 26th February, 2022 for F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y. B. Sc., T.Y. B.Sc.& M.Sc. (Botany) Learners. Resource person Dr. D. Meena Shankar Rao, from Department of Botany, R.K. Talreja College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Ulhasnagarspoke about the role of High yielding crop varieties, use of Chemical fertilizers, pesticides and how agrochemicals are causing environmental hazards and compelling the human beings for organic method of farming so that we can achieve the sustainability. 68 participants attended the session.
Department of Botany under Environment Protection, organized an Online Invited lecture on "Biodiversity and Its Conservation Strategies" on zoom platform on 25th March, 2022. Resource person Dr. Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi, from Department of Botany, Bhakt Darshan Government P.G. College, Jaiharikhal, Uttarakhand, addressed the students from F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y. B.Sc., T.Y.B.Sc.& M.Sc. (Botany) class. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi spoke about the forms of biodiversity, measurement of the biodiversity and how to protect and conserve them.48 participants attended the session.
Department of Botany, organized an Online Value addition lecture on "Forest Genetic Resources and its Conservation " on zoom platform on 10th April, 2022. Resource person Dr. Praveen Kumar Verma, Scientist ‘C’ from Forest Botany Division, Forest Research Institute Dehradun, Uttarakhand, addressed the students from F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y. B.Sc., T.Y.B.Sc. & M.Sc. class. Dr. Verma emphasized on the concept of FGR Plants, their distribution and significance of FGR. 74 participants attended the session.
A guidance session on “Career Guidance” was jointly organized by the Department of Chemistry, Botany and Zoology on Tuesday, 11th February 2022; where Dr. S. D. Ajagekar, Vice Principal, Faculty of Science; Dr. C. P. Shukla, Head, Department of Botany and Dr. Vitthal Mohite, Department of Zoology guided 54students from F. Y. B. Sc. (CBZ) regarding various career options, competitive examinations and job opportunities in the subject of Chemistry, Botany and Zoology respectively. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vinit Vaidya.

Origin: Intra-Collegiate Science Exhibition:
Five Exhibits/ working models were presented by the students from FY BSc (CBZ), S. Y. B. Sc. (CB) and TYBSc (Bot) in “ORIGIN 2022” organized by Department of Zoology, in Collaboration with Science Association on 24th Feb 2022. Students group prepared various projects and working models, under guidance of Dr. C. P. Shukla and Dr. Vinit Vaidya .
Orientation & Refresher Course:
Dr. Chandra Prakash Shukla, successfully completed online Two-Week Refresher Course in “Life Sciences” from 1st September to 15th September, 2021, conducted byTeaching Learning Centre, Ramanujan College, university of Delhi, In Collaboration with Miranda House, University of Delhi, Under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, National Mission on Teachers and Teaching.
Dr. Chandra Prakash Shukla, successfully completed Faculty Development Programme on “Organic Farming Technology” from 3rd March to 7th March, 2022, conducted by UGC-HRDC, Jai Narain Vyas, University, Jodhpur Rajasthan.
