COMPETITIONS / ACTIVITY CONDUCTED & ORGANISED
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (NGPE-2022) Competitive Examination successfully conducted for F.Y./S.Y./T.Y. B.Sc. students on 27th March, 2022. Total number of Students appeared for the examination is 20.
Physics department in collaboration with Science Association conducted an Intra collegiate Science Exhibition ORIGIN 2022 on 18th Feb 2022. 07 exhibits with 18 students from T.Y.B.Sc./ S.Y.B.Sc/ F.Y.B.Sc were participated in INTRACOLLEGIATE SCIENCE FEST ORIGIN -Feb2022. The Faculty members of Dept. of Physics worked as a MENTOR Guide.
JAM lecture series was conducted by Dept. members to guide the students to qualify competitive exam. Total 12 lectures were conducted to guide students on topic of core physics like electronics, solid state physics, Mathematical physics, Atomic physics, Laser Nuclear physics etc.
Physics department celebrated National Science Day on 27th Feb 2022 by visiting TIFR, Coloba, Mumbai. Total 25 students of FY, SY and TY B.Sc. class participated. Activities like Liquid Nitrogen show, Optogenetics: Light wave of activating neurons, Optics demonstration were witnessed by staff and students.
STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN EVENT:
Inter Departmental Activity" NAKSHATRA"
Department of Physics in collaboration with Department of Botany and Science Association organized the event "NAKSHTRA" on 12th March 2022 by visiting Nehru Science Center. Total 36 participants were part of the event.
Certificate Course in Physics
Department of Physics started certificate course in Energy Auditing for UG students. 39 Students were enrolled and successfully completed. The duration of Course was 30 Hours.
With successfully completion of this course learners were capable to understand the impact of pollution. Learners were able to carry out the cost benefit analysis of various investments alternatives for meeting the energy needs of organization.
Guest Speaker
Special sessions for preparation of competitive exams Joint Admission Test (JAM) for Master of Science JAM -2022 was conducted for T.Y.B.Sc. Students ON 15th JULY 2022. Total 09 students were participated. This guidance lecture were conducted by Mr.Jainam Khara ( Research Intern , Karlasruhe Institute of Technology, Germany) .Learners were realized the importance of Joint Admission Test (JAM) exam and with the help of it how to pursue post-graduation programs from India’s most reputed institute IIT’s , NIT’s and IISC , Bangalore.
Mr. Ravi Singh (Senior Research Fellow, Institute of Chemical Technology) delivered a guidance lecture for undergraduate students on topic “My Journey towards research after Graduation” on 14th March 2022. Learners were explored the future perspective in Physics.
Mr. Vindhyesh Singh delivered lecture for undergraduate students on topic High power laser and their industrial application on 5th Feb 2022.Leraners were given insight about use of theoretical physics in industry.
Anupma kulkarni, Senior Scintific officer, BARC delivered lecture for undergraduate students including junior college student on Introduction to GOD Particles-Advance Physics on 18-09-2021
Field / Industrial Visit
Faculty Members of Department of Physics along with 25 Students visited to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) HOMI BHABHA Auditorium, Colaba, Mumbai, to understand the industrial uses of LIQUID NITROGEN on 27th FEB 2022.Learners were participated in live demo experiment on stage.

Mr Paresh B. Chobisa, FYBSc , PCM has successfully shortlisted for SSB (Service Selection Board –Indian Armed Forces) interview at Bhopal on 5th May 2022.
Saurabh Kumar Pandy, FYBSc, PCM was Participated in pledge say no to drugs conducted by Narcotics Control Bureau on 11th MAR 2022
Mr. Chinmay Chavan ,SYBSc, PC successfully completed internship with Grauer &well (India ) limited under the program of Awareness on different quality control from 9th JUN 2021 to 8th JUL 2021.

Dr Gitesh Padhye
Dr Gitesh Padhye has been Appointed as a Academic Counselor for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme for Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.
Worked as a Chairperson of Syllabus committee for framing UG and PG Practical Syllabus from the University of Mumbai in the year of 2021-22
University of Mumbai has appointed as Recognized PhD guide in Physics of the University of Mumbai with effect from 23rd Feb. 2022.
Department of Physics is becoming recognized Research Center from the academic year 2021-22 for PhD in Physics from University of Mumbai
Worked as a judge for poster presentation competition under Fledging Researchers Programme on Friday , 25thb Feb 2022 at Sathaye College Vile Parle.
Worked as a Judge for an Interview of Final round for IX grade Dr Homi Bhabha Bal Vaidynanik Competition on Sunday , 17th April 2022 organized by The Greater Bombay Science Teachers Associations.
7. Dr. Amitkumar Singh participated in 65th DAE solid state physics symposium held at
BARC, Mumbai during 15 Dec. to 19 Dec. 2021.
8. Dr. Amitkumar Singh received recognition as PG teacher.
9. Mr. Shailendra Kumar Singh participated in “Exposure Camp for Physics under the
Olympiad Programme” conducted by HBCSE, TIFR in online from Jan 17 to 21,2022 and
onsite camp from March 28 to 31,2022.
10. Dr . Pravin Pawar was appointed as a judge in Avishkar, Research Convention: 2021-22 at
Mumbai University level.

Dr Gitesh Padhye has awarded I2OR National Award By MSME with Ministry of MSME , Govt. of India - In the category of National Distinguished Researcher Award 2021.

Refresher /Short term course:
Dr. Gitesh Padhye Successfully complete a UGC sponsored FDP organized by UGC HRDC between 2nd March to 7th March 2022 on Organic Farming Technology with A+ grade.
Dr. Amitkumar Singh completed one weak FDP organized by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and teaching in the Academic Writing for Research between 11 th Oct. to 17th Oct. 2021.
Dr. Amitkumar Singh completed refresher course organized by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and teaching in the subject of Physics between 27th Oct. to 10th Nov. 2021.
Dr. Shailendra Kumar Singh completed refresher course organized by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and teaching in the subject of Physics between 10th April to 24th April 2022.
Dr. Pravin Pawar has successfully completed refresher course conducted by PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY (HRDC) in the subject of Physics between 4th August to 17th AUGUST 2021.
