Nature Photography Workshop 2020-2021
Nature Club of Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Junior College) had organized a Webinar on the topic “Nature Photography Workshop” on 30th of March 2021. The speaker, Mr. Ashish Richhariya, a teacher by profession but a photographer and an author, also a naturalist by heart, explained the different techniques of practicing photography along with making us all aware about the basics of photography. The webinar was conducted on zoom platform which was attended by 200 students.
The speaker also shared some amazing and different tricks for arrangement of camera especially the mobile camera for clicking photographs of the beautiful nature around us.

PURPOSE OF THE EVENT: To develop knowledge about GST implementation in India and to make student aware about various GST act is provision and its rules and regulations. Activity was conducted in association with department of BAF.
Due to Covid, The Webinar was conducted online Via Zoom Platform. We Received active participation for webinar in Which Nearly 175 students were present for gaining the knowledge about GST.

The Event was well received by FYJC & SYJC students where nearly 125+ students attended and who interacted and asked many doubts relating to investment, opening Demat Account, to our key speaker i.e Mr Amit Gupta. All doubts of students were answered by him. The students also gain insight about the stock market Trading systems.

PURPOSE OF THE EVENT :-
To Guide and provide information for courses like CA / ACCA / CFA, its registration process, clearing Myth that CA is tough.
Outcome of Event : -
The Event was well received among students of FYJC & SYJC whereby nearly 225+ students attended the session. Our Resource Person, CA Anu Agarwal, guided students about various courses like CA, ACCA and also shared information about registration, time needed to complete the course and many more aspects of the Course. The session was interactive, since many students actively asked doubts to the speaker, to which she answered all questions and helped students to choose CA / ACCA courses as a career option. The session ended with a vote of thanks for all participants.

Pacioli Quiz Competition for 40 marks was undertaken for students of FYJC & SYJC, in which nearly 170 Students actively participated in Quiz competition and also Case study on Accountancy subject was given to them to develop application skills. DEPT. OF ECONOMICS
Considering the ongoing pandemic Covid-19 situation, Department of Economics of Thakur Junior College, Commerce stream organized 2 online events for the overall development of the students.
ACTIVITY I
“Debate Competition” was organized on 20th of February 2021, to develop communication skill, confidence & active participation of the students in current economic affairs. We received an overwhelming response with 43 participants and have succeeded in untapping the hidden talents of our students. Winners: 1st Rishimaa Dave C20/3831, 2nd Harshika Shukla C20/ 3923 3rd Muskan Shah C17/3288.
ACTIVITY II
Webinar on “Impact of Covid 19 on Indian Economy” was organized on 4th March 2021. Purpose of the event was to bring awareness of various impacts of Covid-19, on different spheres of Indian economy and how to overcome the damage caused due to the pandemic (Covid-19) in the economy. The webinar had an overwhelming response- with 338 participants. The session was highly interactive and thought provoking.
ACTIVITY III
Department of Economics also organized “Skill Development Programme”. The 6 days program was held for FYJC students to acquaint the students with banking procedures and formalities. We had Mr. Ravindra Singh Chawla, Mr. Abhijit Ray as the speakers for the event which was conducted online via zoom. 112 students participated and received appreciation certificate for the same.

TOPIC: LOVE YOU ZINDAGI
The purpose of this webinar was to remove the boredom of studies and be beneficial to the mental and physical health of students during this pandemic. Coping up with the ‘NEW NORMAL” has become a very big challenge to our young mind. So, this webinar was organized to remove their stress and anxiety and help them to deal with the New Normal. The theme of the speaker was ‘LOVE YOU ZINDAGI’ where he stressed on knowing yourself, using your strength as your weapon and motivating & self-development techniques to face challenges of this pandemic. 250 students participated for the webinar.

TOPIC: Career Opportunities in the BFSI Sector
The purpose of this webinar is to make students aware about various career opportunities in the BANKING, FINANCE, SERVICE & INSURANCE. CAREER is a very an important decision in very students’ life. Whatever path you choose it imparts your life quality and defines your status in the society. The speaker focused on the field of banking, insurance, service and finance wherein various career option are available but the young minds were unaware. On one hand he explained how safe and stable in term of employment this sector is, on the other hand he explained the most dynamic career opportunities. 275 students participated for the webinar.

Activity I
A webinar on 'Financial Awareness Session'. for the benefit of students of SYJC as a part of syllabus and to give them practical idea and knowledge about the same.
The Resource person of the event was Prof. Atul Sathe, Assistant professor in Department of Accountancy at HR college of Commerce & Economics, he is also an ICWA rank holder and has authored 16 text books on Mutual funds, Technical analysis, Accounting and Finance.
It was conducted on July 24, 2020 at 10:00AM on ZOOM application. The webinar was attended by more than 600 participants .

Webinar on 'Company Secretary- A perspective career Option'.
The purpose of the activity was making junior college students aware about significance of Company Secretary as a career and informing about new changes made in the CS course.
The Speaker was Ms. Vimala Valji Jogadia Senior Executive Assistant, ICSI-WIRC.
It was conducted on 11th February 2021 through Zoom application. The webinar was attended by more than 400 student participants,

Report on Mental Ability Test
Mathematics department (Jr. Commerce) conducted Mental Ability Test MAT-XXI on
17th March, 2021. The test was conducted online on Zoom platform. The test was conducted for the enhancement of decision making, mental alertness and quick interpretation of data. One thousand and two students of S.Y.J.C and F.Y.J.C appeared for the test.

Topic of the event: APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS IN HIGHER STUDIES AND COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS.
Date and time of the event: 20th March 2021 at 12pm
Purpose of the event: The Webinar was conducted to guide the students for their future planning. The students were enlightened about the importance of studying Mathematics and Statistics for their higher studies and professional career. Power point presentation helped students to visualize the different options for higher studies and its applications in competitive examinations. 283 F.Y.J.C. and S.Y.J.C. students attended the session.
DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
1. The English Department had arranged for a guest lecture on 4th Apr-2021 on the topic of ‘Let Me Think’ conducted through the webinar by the guest speaker Ms. Mitchelle Castellino (M.A-ENG). Having completed her course in Creative Writing (England Univ) and an aspiring novelist herself, the students were provided insights on ‘thinking out of the box’ i.e to think-act-write-present writing skills in a creative format. It enlightened the participants with a plethora of options available from the viewpoint of examinations as well as professional requirements. The webinar had a large attendance of 281 participants. An hour of the interactive session ended successfully, with a questionnaire and doubt solving queries raised by students followed by a healthy discussion with the speaker. The objective behind the programme was to increase the power of English language at examination as well as at a conversational level, among students of FYJC and SYJC.
Activity II
The Department had scheduled a ‘Quiz Competition’ on 30th April,2021 through the source of Google forms. In total 407 responses were collected from both FYJC classes of Commerce and Science stream. The quiz was open to all, with twenty questions presented to the participants within a short span of twenty minutes. The participants were exuberant as they were exposed to a difficult (language of) grammar and vocabulary and conversational skills. This quiz also tested their English knowledge outside the syllabus matter. The results were declared immediately online, with the following students emerging as winners-
In the first position we have six students –Krishma Shah (C20-3801), Fairy Gangar (C18-3431), Sumit Pal (C29-5681), Saniya Khan (C29-5700), Ayush Rai (S20-4101) and Ashutosh Pandey (S16-3276). The second place we have two students- Akshaj Shetty (C30-5857) and Kaushal Deepak Seth (S21-4295). For the third position we have four students- Pratham Dhakan (C23-4523), Anand Bimala Tiwari (C27-5301), Niyati Kamat (C18-3409) and Ananya Godse (S15-3053).
Activity - III
SKILL DEVELOPMENT:
The department of English had organised an interactive session of IEO (International English Olympiad ) for 11 hours from 16/12/2020 to 7/1/2021 to improve the level of comprehension, vocabulary and grammatical understanding among 61 students . They participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. There was a healthy competition and a learning spirit witnessed among the students. The Silverzone Institute had organised online test on 15/01/2021.

In the category of GOLD MEDALISTS we have Christopher Dmello (S13-2627) and Dhruvi Patel (S3-0454). The SILVER MEDALISTS are Chirag Singh (S12-2447) and Ashesha Bagwe (S3-0449) while Sanidhi Shetty (S12-2426) and Aditi Dubey (C01-0073) secured their positions as BRONZE MEDALISTS respectively.
