 The Department Of Chemistry(Jr.College ) had conducted an Event on 24th January 2025 in Chemistry lab from 12:00noon to 2:00p.m on : 

1.Analysis of fruit juices qualitatively and detect  the presence of different minerals  (Potassium,Calcium,Magnesium, Iron and Phosphorus  ) 

 

2.To find the % of acetic acid in sample of  Vinegar 

 

A total of 60 students had participated for the Event. 

The objective was to: 

 

  1. Develop practical skills and Analytical thinking. 

 

  1. Understanding the benefits of eating fruits due the presence of different minerals in them . 

 

  1. Gain knowledge and create awareness  among students about the permissible levels of acetic acid in sample of Vinegar  for human consumption through Quantitative analysis.  

 

Mr.Vinod Pandey and Ms.Rashmi Jadhav  demonstrated  the 

Activities to the students, which was then later performed by the students  themselves and the observations for both  the experiments was  recorded  by each student in their respective answer sheets . 

 

 The students thoroughly enjoyed the session . 



Computer Science & Electronics Department 

ARDUINO  WORKSHOP 

 

An Arduino workshop was organized for  XI Computer  Science and Electronics students on 7th Dec., 2024 by the Computer Science and Electronics Department. 

 

The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the world of embedded systems and programming using Arduino, a versatile microcontroller platform. This hands-on workshop aimed to develop technical skills and ignite curiosity about electronics and programming among young learners. 

 

Workshop Details 

Date: 7th December, 2024 

Duration:  3 hours 

Venue: Lab 304 

Participants: 40 Grade XI students 

Resource Person : Mr. Subodh Kamble (TCSC Jr. college faculty) 

 

Session Highlights 

  • Introduction to Arduino 

  • Overview of Arduino and its applications. 

  • Explanation of the Arduino board components and features. 

  • Basic Programming 

          Writing and uploading the first program (Blink LED). 

          Hands-On experience with Arduino simulator provided 

 

Students engaged with the resource person, clarifying their doubts and discussing advanced concepts.Studentes also appeared for online quiz.Students gained a basic understanding of Arduino programming and hardware setup.Developed problem-solving and logical reasoning skills. 

 

Participants provided positive feedback, appreciating the interactive nature and practical approach of the workshop.

Commerce) organized a Poster cum Slogan making Competition on 29th July, 2024 on the theme 'Tiger Conservation - Save the Stripes' to embark the occasion of International Tiger Day.  

The objective of this competition was to create an awareness regarding the loss of habitat leading to endangered species among the students, and harnessing their creative side too. 

40 students participated in this competition. 

The event was judged by Reshma Tendulkar (Science) and Janhavi Shetye (Commerce).

This caught the attention of Mr. Arun Patwardhan, a visiting faculty in the Department of VFX. Being a conservationist himself and a close friend of Mr. Bittu Sahgal, founding editor of Sanctuary Asia, a wildlife and ecology magazine, Arun Sir took a brief coverage and posted it on his Instagram handle tagging Bittu Sahgal sir and TCSC Mumbai.

Computer Science & Electronics Department 

AI &  NEURAL NETWORK  WORKSHOP 

 AI &  NEURAL NETWORK  workshop was organized for  XI Computer  Science and Electronics students on 5th March, 2025 by the Computer Science and Electronics Department. 




The objective of the workshop was to introduce  AI  and Neural Network fundamentals. To encourage students to think creatively how  computer vision is used in analysing facial expression.To develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

Title: Report on Physics Exhibition under title "Wonder Gallery of physics" 

The physics department (Junior college) has organised An Activity of Physics Exhibition Under Title; Wonder Gallery of physics on 5th September 2024 in the Junior Physics lab room number 105 of Thakur College of science and commerce in which 30 students were participated and 453 students visited. 

Introduction 

The Physics Exhibition, held at THAKUR COLLEGE on 5th September 2024, showcased innovative experiments and interactive displays aimed at enhancing public understanding of physics. The event attracted students, educators, and science enthusiasts, aiming to highlight the excitement and applicability of physics in everyday life. 

Exhibition Highlights

Exhibit 3: Speed of sound (resonance tube) 

Exhibit 4: Faraday's laws of Electromagnetic induction

Interactive Elements: The Attendees could understand the phenomenon of Light, Sound, Electricity and Magnetism. 

Focus: This Exhibition allowed participants to build simple concepts of physics and explore their properties. 

Learning Outcomes: The exhibition significantly enhanced attendees' understanding of core physics principles through practical demonstrations and interactive experiences.  

Conclusion:The Physics Exhibition successfully achieved its goal of promoting interest and understanding of physics. The interactive and innovative displays, combined with engaging presentations, provided a valuable educational experience for all attendees.

An event was organised on “Sustainable Development” on 26th Sept 2024. For FYJC & 

SYJC students.40 students participated in the event. Which includes ‘Poster making, Rally by students by visiting labs and classrooms.Objective of the program was to creat sensitiveness towards environment by developing habit of Reduce, reuse and recycle.

Criteria for the winner is maximum number of correct solution providing by the students.

The Department of Mathematics, successfully organized a 10-hour R Programming Workshop on Saturday, 6th January 2025. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance programming skills and provide students with a strong foundation in R programming. This hands-on session introduced participants to data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques using R. The workshop emphasized intuitive learning through mathematical concepts and guided participants to create insightful graphs and data representations using the R programming environment.


The workshop witnessed active participation from 30 students, who demonstrated enthusiasm and curiosity to explore programming and mathematical applications in R. Mr. Subodh Kamble, the resource person, conducted the sessions with great expertise, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning experience. The event proved to be a significant step toward skill enhancement, fostering an understanding of programming while enabling students to develop innovative and analytical thinking. The successful execution of this workshop underscored the collaborative efforts of the two departments and further motivated students to explore new avenues in programming and applied mathematics.

The Junior college of Science has organised An Activity of an Intra College Science 

Exhibition on 9th October 2024 in the Junior Biology lab room number 110 of Thakur College of science and commerce in which 75 students were participated under the category of working models, non-working models and posters 

Introduction 

The Science Exhibition, held at THAKUR COLLEGE on 9th October 2024, showcased innovative experiments and interactive displays aimed at enhancing public understanding of science. The event attracted students, educators, and science enthusiasts, aiming to highlight the excitement and applicability of science in everyday life. 

Interactive Elements: The Attendees could understand the phenomenon of Light, Sound, Electricity, Magnetism, Nature, Sustainable development etc. And this Exhibition allowed participants to build simple concepts of science and explore their properties.

CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT JUNIOR COLLEGE  

REPORT  

3DModel making  

 

The Department of Chemistry (Junior College) in collaboration with Science Association of Thakur College of Science and Commerce had organised an engaging and educational event titled "3D Model Making,based on FYJC Chemistry Text Topics on 14th August 2024 in the Chemistry Lab (108) between 1:50pm – 3:50pm.  

A total of 55 students of FYJC Participated in the Event and Presented 35 Models of Chemistry. 

 

The event aimed to combine creativity with scientific understanding by allowing students to create three-dimensional models of various chemical structures and molecules. This hands-on experience was designed to enhance students' understanding of  chemical concepts by visualizing them in a tangible format. 

Winners of the event are:First place - Mr.Mahesh Tak(S13/3227), 

Second place- Ms. Shreya Naik (S15/3661) and Third place secured by two students i)  Ms Sonam Nag(S15/4439) and ii) Ms Astha Sahani(S15/4443). 

 

The event has helped the Students to develop scientific temper as well as to gain an insight into the understanding of various FYJC Chemistry concepts through active participation.

The Physics Exhibition, held at THAKUR COLLEGE on 5th September 2024, showcased innovative experiments and interactive displays aimed at enhancing public understanding of physics. The event attracted students, educators, and science enthusiasts, aiming to highlight the excitement and applicability of physics in everyday life.

Exhibit 10: Conservation of momentum and Bernoulli's principal 

Interactive Elements: The Attendees could understand the phenomenon of Light, Sound, Electricity and Magnetism. 

Focus: This Exhibition allowed participants to build simple concepts of physics and explore their properties. 

Learning Outcomes: The exhibition significantly enhanced attendees' understanding of core physics principles through practical demonstrations and interactive experiences.  

Conclusion:The Physics Exhibition successfully achieved its goal of promoting interest and understanding of physics. The interactive and innovative displays, combined with engaging presentations, provided a valuable educational experience for all attendees.

THAKUR COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND COMMERCE  

CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT JUNIOR COLLEGE  

REPORT  3DModel making  

 

The Department of Chemistry (Junior College) in collaboration with Science Association of Thakur College of Science and Commerce had organised an engaging and educational event titled "3D Model Making,based on FYJC Chemistry Text Topics on 14th August 2024 in the Chemistry Lab (108) between 1:50pm – 3:50pm.  

A total of 55 students of FYJC Participated in the Event and Presented 35 Models of Chemistry. 

 

The event aimed to combine creativity with scientific understanding by allowing students to create three-dimensional models of various chemical structures and molecules. This hands-on experience was designed to enhance students' understanding of  chemical concepts by visualizing them in a tangible format. 

Winners of the event are:First place - Mr.Mahesh Tak(S13/3227), 

Second place- Ms. Shreya Naik (S15/3661) and Third place secured by two students i)  Ms Sonam Nag(S15/4439) and ii) Ms Astha Sahani(S15/4443). 

 

The event has helped the Students to develop scientific temper as well as to gain an insight into the understanding of various FYJC Chemistry concepts through active participation. 

 

 


BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT 

Academic Year 2024-25 

A: Skill development program of 10hours on Culinary Skill- “Unleash Your Power”  was conducted from 23rd Sept 2024 to 1st October 2024. For FYJC  SCIENCE. 20 Students participated in the program. 

Venue of the program was biology lab 110. 2hrs daily. The program includes cooking health and nutritious diet. The objective of the program was to inculcate healthy habits of cooking and eating.
