Science Association report for academic year 2020-21



In the Academic year 2020-21, various Activities were organized by Science Association, to enhance the knowledge of students in diverse fields of science and technology. The details of activities conducted are as follows:

  • On 11th January, 2021 Science Association & Department of botany, organized an Online Gust lecture on "Cancer: Causes and Prevention" on zoom platform. Resource person Dr. Puneet Pareekh, Additional Professor-Radiation Oncology-AIIMS, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, addressed the teachers and  F.Y. B.Sc., SY. BSc., T.Y. B.Sc. & M.Sc. students class from Science streams. More than 350 participants attended the session.

  • A career guidance lecture for T.Y. B.Sc. (Botany, Zoology & Biotechnology) and M.Sc. (Botany and Zoology) learners was organized on 11th January, 2021 by Science Association & Department of Botany, on zoom platform regarding CSIR NET-JRF Examination. Resource person Dr. Rajveer Singh Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, U.P. guided the students about the eligibility and course material and career options in the field of Biological sciences. 50 students from TYBSc (Botany, Zoology & Biotechnology) and M.Sc. (Botany and Zoology) attended the career guidance lecture.

  • On 20th March, 2021 Origin-2021, an Intra Collegiate Science Exhibition (Online), was Organized by Department of Information Technology in collaboration with Science Association, Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Autonomous). Approximately 85 exhibits and 255 students Participated and presented their exhibits. The event was Judged by the subject experts from different academic Institution as well as Industry.



Origin-2021 an Intra Collegiate Science Exhibition on 20th March, 2021



  • On 10th April, 2021 Science association organized an Online Quiz competition on “Contribution of Indian Scientists”. Total 66 Students from B.Sc. and M.Sc. participated in the competition.
