Science Association report for academic year 2023-24


In the Academic year 2023-24, Following Activity were organized by Science Association, to enhance the knowledge of students in diverse fields of science and technology. The details of activities conducted are as follows:

  • Guest Lecture

On 17th October, 2021 Science Association, organized a Guest lecture on "Dementia and Alzheimer’s to Reduce Social stigma".  Resource person Dr. Vidya Shenoy, Integrative Therapist, Dementia Care Specialist, addressed the F.Y. Learners and Staff member,. She Spoke about the mental Health , Life style related to metal health, early sign and detection of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease as well as the Cellular and molecular mechanism of these problems and how to deal with such cases. 208 participants attended the session.

  • Intra-College Science Exhibition

Intra-College Science Exhibition ‘ORIGIN 2024’ on the theme ‘International year of Rangelands & Patoralists’(The International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, reflects the important role that healthy rangelands play in creating a sustainable environment, economic growth and resilient livelihoods for communities across the world.) was jointly organized by the Science Association, TCSC and Department  of Animation & VFX, on 8th  February,2024 with 347 participants. A total of 125 enthusiastic research teams comprising of Undergraduate and Post Graduate learners of Degree College, Science stream competed simultaneously under 12 different tracks. Student’s presentations included theoretical and experimental aspects which foregrounds their subject content. Dr. Vishal Goswami, Associate Professor, Department of Physics & Math’s, Patkar College, Goregaon (W) was on the esteemed panel of judges for the Mathematics, Physics and Animation & VFX subject.Mr. Santosh B. Katariya, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, SIES College, Sion (W) Mumbai was invited to judge the Chemistry segment. Dr. Y.K. Lahir, Visiting Faculty, Department of Biophysics, University of Mumbai, was judge for the exhibits from Botany, Zoology and Biotechnology Departments. Mr. Mahendra Sharma , Sr. Vice President-Morgan Stanley & Independent Director & Advisor-RDA Infotech, Judged the exhibits from Computer Science, IT and Data Science. All the judges appreciated the efforts of the budding researchers and encouraged all the participants. Three winners each were declared from each Department of Science. ‘ORIGIN 2024’ provided an excellent platform to the participating teams to unleash their creativity in offering scientific research approaches towards green technological innovation as the fundamental way to achieve sustainable devilment of social economy.
