Swami Vivekananda Association - Activities & Events conducted in 2022-2023

1. Message of Swami Vivekananda were written on the board everyday in the morning. Every week new message was given to the students. The objective was to drive in the mind of the students the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda which transcends time and help one to become an individual of strong character.

2. On the occasion of 75 years of India’s independence and 125 years of Ram Krishna Mission, RKM, Mumbai organized a Youth Convention on 30th July, 2022.  A visit was organized to the mission with 25 students. Monks of the mission delivered talk on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda and its relevance for youth. Apart from this there was an edu-tech firm inspired by the idea of Swami Vivekananda who motivated youth with their inspiring presentation. There was hearty meal arranged for the day and students enjoyed being part of the program. 

3. On 13th September, 2022 a book exhibition was organized in the premise of the college in association with Ram Krishna Mission. A mobile book store was parked in the college to encourage students  to go through books on Swami Vivekananda and Shri Ram Krishna. This aroused curiosity of the students and the mobile vehicle was thronged by many students from across the college.

4. On line quiz competition was organized on 8th October, 2022 on the LIFE OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA AND HIS TEACHING. 73 students took the exam and the winners were:

5. Celebration of National Youth Day: National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th Jan, 2023 by organizing portrait making competition for the students. Many students participated in the competition and submitted Swamiji’s portrait along with his message. All the portraits were collected and displayed at the entrance for a week. The winner of the event were:

In the evening teacher members along with the students visited Ram Krishna Mission to attend a program on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. 28 students accompanied us in the visit.

6. STORY ENACTMENT COMPETITION AND GUEST LECTURE BY SWAMI DEVKANTYANANDA MAHARAJ FROM RKM.: Swami Vivekananda Association organized intercollege Story enactment competition for the students.  ___ teams with ____ students participated from across the college. The event started with lighting of the lamp followed by a lecture by a Swamiji from Ram Krishna Mission. The students showed their acting skill by displaying an excerpt from his life. This event helped students to know Swamiji better as it encouraged them to research on his life, and his philosophy towards life. ------ from Swami Vivekananda Kendra and Mr Piyush Suraiya was invited to judge the event. The winner of the event was 

7. ARTICLE ON SWAMIJI’S LIFE: life of Swamiji and his teachings were summarized in an article and was circulated among students. The intention was to enlighten students about Swamiji and his life. It was decided that students will be asked to read the article in their proxy lectures
