DLLE activities & events conducted in year 2019-2020
Thakur College has Six projects of DLLE (Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension) of University of Mumbai, namely Annapoorna Yojana (APY), Industry Oriented Project (IOP), Population Education Club (PEC), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Survey of Women’s Status (SWS) and Career Project (CP). In Academic Year 2019-20, total 353 learners registered for these projects.
On 22nd August 2019, acting workshop was conducted for PEC & NIOS learners. In this workshop Mr. Durgesh and Mr. Bhavin Faldu taught some skills to be used in street play.
Street play was conducted by PEC learners on 09th September, 2019 to spread awareness on social issues.
Registered Learners of all the six projects of DLLE participated in Dahisar River Rally- An Awareness Drive to spread awareness on need of preserving rivers, led by Dr. Rajendra Singh, ‘The Waterman of India’, on 19th September 2019.
First term training program was conducted for all the registered learners of DLLE on 20th November 2019.
Second term training program was conducted for all the registered learners on 20th December 2019.
Learners of APY visited Swagat Ashram Orphanage at Kandivali-E on 26th December 2019 and shared happy moments with inmates & also donated grocery & eatables for the children.
Guest lecture on ‘Team Building & Leadership’ by Dr. Sudipta Saha, a prominent soft skill trainer was conducted on 10th January 2020.
On 17th January, 2020, Nutrifest-2020, a Cooking Competition was organized for all DLLE learners to cook healthy snacks without heating.
In Poster Making Competition which was conducted on18th January, 2020, the DLLE learners prepared posters on various social issues like HIV-AIDS, Child Labour, Pollution, Rights of women, Save food, Save water, Global Warming, etc.
Career Fair was organized by CP learners on 7th February 2020. In this fair, learners displayed posters showing information on various career opportunities.
A guest lecture by Ms. Urvashi Chawla, a career strategist from Personal Excellency on the topic ‘CV Writing’ was organized for CP learners on 10th February 2020. In this lecture she explained the importance of effective CV writing as well as dos and donts of CV writing to learners.
On 14th February 2020, learners of APY distributed nutritious, healthy homemade food to poor people and celebrated ‘Humanity Day’.
Ms. Sakshi Pandit and Mr. Ajitpal Chauhan of Thakur College- DLLE were selected for as anchors for University Udaan Festival.
Thakur college DLLE learners participated in University Udaan Festival at Padmashree Bhausaheb Vartak College-Virar-east on 17th February 2020.
Industrial visit to Jurisearch Pvt.Ltd at MIDC Marol, Andheri east was conducted for IOP learners on 7th March 2020. Mr. Pravin Gandhi guided students about how the system of outsourcing works and its importance in huge firms.
