DLLE activities & events conducted in year 2020-2021


DLLE has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the Universities and the community. In the academic year 2020-21, a total of 173 learners registered for various DLLE projects like Survey of Women’s Status (SWS), Population Education Club (PEC), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Career Project (CP) and Industry Oriented Project (IOP).

  1. DLLE in collaboration with DLLE, University of Mumbai and Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India organized an online workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell (REDC) Action Plan on 11th November, 2020 for the learners of Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) program.  Sixty-one learners participated in the workshop. The Resource Person, Dr. Jitendra Aherkar, In-Charge, MGNCRE - REDC and Principal, B.L. Amlani College of Commerce & Economics gave valuable guidance to the participants regarding the importance and role of REDC in Nation Development and emphasized on the integral role to be played by the learners. Complimenting the 61 B.M.S. learners who attended the workshop who came with their innovative ideas, Dr. Aherkar encouraged them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in Rural India.

  1. Online Guest Lecture was delivered by Mr. Amogh Ghotoshkar, BSE Trainer for the IOP learners on 1st February, 2021 on the topic ‘New Investment Avenues’. A total of 30 learners attended the lecture and gained knowledge about the various aspects of investments, investment procedures, right time for investments etc.

  2. Online Essay Writing Competition was conducted on 8th March, 2021 for NIOS learners on the topic ‘What will you like to change in’ with reference to technology, politics and economics. A total of 16 learners participated in this competition.

  3. Online Quiz Competition was conducted on 17th March, 2021 for NIOS learners to test their knowledge about the Current Affairs. 14 learners participated in this quiz competition.

  4. Learners registered for SWS project conducted an Online Survey of Women’s Status by preparing a questionnaire through the google form and forwarding it to women of different age groups. The web-based survey was conducted to highlight the status of women.

  5. Online Poster Making Competition was held on 25th March, 2021 for NIOS learners in which 15 NIOS learners participated. The objective was to facilitate a unique learning experience through posters on non-abstract topics like Global Warming, Climate Change, Nature versus Technology, Conscious versus the Unconscious Mind etc.

  6. Online Elocution Competition was held for NIOS learners on 29th March, 2021 in which 14 learners participated. They selected very interesting and unique topics pertaining to Current Global Issues.

  7. Online Slogan Writing Competition on ‘Awareness about Covid-19’ was conducted for learners registered for Survey of Women’s Status (SWS) project on 31st March, 2021 and 39 learners participated in this competition.

  8. Online Poster Making Competition on social issues like pollution, HIV-AIDS, save water, child labor, precautions for protection against corona virus etc. was conducted on 31st March, 2021 for all the registered learners of DLLE and 75 learners actively participated in this competition.





  1. Online Essay Writing Competition on issues related to women and their rights was held for registered learners of SWS project on 2nd April, 2021. In this competition 38 learners participated.

  2. On 6th April 2021, First Term Training program was conducted for all registered learners of DLLE on the Zoom Platform. In this training program 120 members participated and Dr. Sujata Dhopte, University Field Coordinator of DLLE interacted with the learners and guided them about their DLLE project work.



  1. Career Project Learners chose a specific career field and collected information on the same.  Twenty (20) learners also conducted on-line interviews with the professionals working in the different career fields. Based on the information gathered, the learners prepared digital posters and presentations which were circulated in the students’ groups to create awareness regarding the various career choices.

  2. Online Entrepreneurial Talk was conducted on 17th April, 2021 by the IOP unit in which 15 learners participated and gained knowledge about handling a business from an entrepreneurial point of view.

  3. A special Career Webinar was held for the C.P. learners on 25th April, 2021 in which 23 learners presented career-based information to the other students. This session was very informative and useful.

  1. Online Slogan Writing Competition was held for the C.P. learners on the 26th April, 2021 in which 18 learners participated and submitted very interesting and catchy slogans related to the career field of their choice. This activity boosted the creativity among the learners. 

Learners registered for P.E.C. performed various online activities on topics related to environmental and social issues like HIV-AIDS, dowry prohibition act-1961, pollution, laws protecting women, acid attack cases, violence against women, save food, The Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act & Rules etc. PEC learners selected topics from the above list and worked on it individually so that multiple awareness programs and ideas can be curated and brought together..

  1. Week 1.( 24th February 2021) -To create a video on student’s selected topic  in which 25 P.E.C. students participated.

  2. Week 2. ( 1st March 2021) - To create a poster on student’s selected topic  in which  27 P.E.C.students participated.

  3. Week 3.( 8th March 2021) - Slogan writing on student’s selected topic  in which  27  P.E.C.students participated.

  4. Week 4. (16th March2021) -To conduct survey on selected topic in which  27 P.E.C.students participated.

  5. Week 5 ( 7th April 2021) - To make print Advertisements in which 26 P.E.C.students participated.

  6.  Week 6 ( 15th April 2021) - To design T shirt on student’s selected topic in which 25 P.E.C.students participated.

  7.  Week 7 (20th April 2021) -To make a questionnaire on student’s selected topic in which 23 P.E.C.students participated.

DESIGNING OF DIGITAL T-SHIRTS BY PEC LEARNERS-


  1. On 2nd May, 2021, Online Virtual Industrial Visit was organized for I.O.P. learners in which 38 IOP learners participated. Information regarding the working process of Nutella Factory Plant, its business model, packaging and supply chain management was virtually presented by a Member (IOP), Student Manager (IOP) and Teacher In-charge (IOP). It was a great learning experience and knowledge enhancement for the participants.
