DLLE has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the Universities and the community. In the academic year 2022-23, a total of 302 learners registered for various DLLE projects like Annapurna Yojana (APY), Survey of Women’s Status (SWS), Population Education Club (PEC), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Career Project (CP) and Industry Oriented Project (IOP) in Thakur College.
Learners of NIOS conducted street play on Development on Education and skill on 18th August, 2022 at BMC Park, Charkop in which 14 NIOS learners participated.
Street play on Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was conducted on 2nd September, 2022 by 34 PEC learners at Evershine Millenium Park, Kandivali east.
Street play on Domestic violence against men was conducted by 34 PEC registered learners at Thakur College on 23rd September 2022.
First term training program of DLLE was conducted on 24th September, 2022, in which 297 learners participated. Dr. Sujata Dhopte, University field coordinator of DLLE, guided DLLE learners about how to conduct activities of DLLE projects in this training.
Guest lecture ‘Design your career’ was organized in association with Inner Wheel Club of Bombay, Kandivali for all DLLE registered learners on 30th September 2022 in which 60 learners participated. Resource person was Ms. Anju Saini, ICF certified, accredited coach, Erichson International.
On 18th October 2022, Poster making competition on topic Right thinking was organized for NIOS learners. Sixteen NIOS learners participated in this competition.
Street play on Human rights & Gender was conducted 0n 27th October 2022 by 16 NIOS learners at Growel’s Mall, Kandivali east to spread awareness about equality to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development.
Street play on Women empowerment was conducted by 20 NIOS learners at Thakur Park, Kandivali east on 11th November 2022.
Skit on impact of Social Media on Children was conducted by 14 NIOS learners in Thakur College Premises on 19th November 2022.
Street play on Dowry was conducted by12 PEC learners at Thakur Vidya Mandir School, Kandivali on 3rd December, 2022.
Street play on social issue - Drug addiction was conducted at Juhu Beach, Mumbai, on 5th December 2022 by 25 PEC learners.
On 9th December 2022, Road Safety Awareness Drive on Traffic Rules was conducted for all DLLE registered learners. In this program, 280 students participated and distributed aero planes with road safety messages to drivers at Mahindra & Mahindra Circle, Western Express Highway, at Kandivali east.
On 24th December, 2022 Slogan making competition on topics like child labour, Plastic –free India, pollution & its effects was conducted for APY registered learners in which 30 learners participated.
On 24th December, 2022 poster making competition on topics healthy diet & save water was conducted for APY registered learners in which 30 learners participated.
On 21st January, 2023 “Nutrifest – Healthy Recipes of Millets”-Cooking competition was conducted for all DLLE registered learners in which 60 learners participated by preparing healthy recipes of millets.
DLLE learners of our college participated in Street play, Creative writing, Elocution & Poster making competitions in Udaan festival, the annual festival of DLLE, University of Mumbai, at Thakur Shyamnarayan College, Kandivali on 10th February 2023. Our student Dhriti Shetty achieved 2nd rank in creative writing competition in this festival.

Career Fair was organized by CP learners on 24th February, 2023 in which 77 CP students displayed posters on diverse careers such as medicine, Pharma, Aeronautical , Data Science, nursing, biotechnology, CFA, Charted Accountants , Ethical Hackers, Jobs in armed forces, MBA, etc.
Second term training program of DLLE was conducted on 1st March, 2023, in which 280 learners participated. Dr. Sujata Dhopte, University field coordinator of DLLE, guided DLLE learners about project writing in this training.
On 4th March, 2023, learners of APY visited Daya Vihar Ashram at Malad west & 34 APY learners donated groceries & snacks for the ashram children.
Sixteen learners of IOP participated in Industrial visit to Bhatia Group- A Premier Real Estate Development Company at Borivali east on 9th March 2023.
Poster designing competition was held for PEC learners to design a poster on 11th March, 2023.
