The 12th and 13th of December 2018 saw Thakur College of Science and Commerce ushering into a new decade with its Annual Cultural Inter Collegiate Fest - something anxiously and impatiently awaited by Students and Staff Members alike. Taarangan 2018!!! The theme for Taarangan this year was "Telly Tamasha", celebrating the World of Indian Televison. It couldn't have kicked off on a higher note with TCSC's beloved Alumni, now a symbol of Pride for India, thanks to her title of Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Miss Universe 2018, Nehal Chudasama launching Taarangan 2018.
The first day saw famed Bollywood and TV Personalities - Mr. Mukesh Khanna, Mr. Rakesh Bedi and Mr. Asit Kumar Modi, among many others, initiates proceedings, with the inauguration ceremony. With over 100 colleges all over Mumbai registering an eye popping figure, upwards of 3500 participants, one simply couldn't contain the excitement that was surplus on the day. Events across various different categories had participants grooving to the beats in dance, poetically waltzing with words, simulating real-life sport through gaming, and more, all sprinkled with light bursts of humour. Veteran Music Composer and Singer Anu Malik graced “The Solo Singing Event” with his presence and thoroughly enjoyed the voices that lined up to display their talent. Day One concluded on a high with The Fashion Show, judged by none other than our very own alumna, Sheena Bajaj.
Day two took up where day one left off, and continued to enthrall the participants and audience in attendance. Events like Street dance, Rink Football, JAM had twists added to their orthodox styles, much to the awe of those who participated. The “War of DJs” had DJs Maria and Cavin, sent the crowd into frenzy, with waves of notes getting everyone floor-ready.
With an eventful and highly energetic second day extravaganza finally approaching its conclusion, The Spoils of War were claimed by "Mahadev" (Best PR) and "Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma" (Best Contingent). Taarangan once again lived up to its long standing repute, and promised a future much like the one envisioned. As they say, "Well Begun is half done!"
