Introduction
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was set up after first cycle of NAAC accreditation in order to initiate and monitor plans for quality enhancement and quality sustenance of the institute. Accordingly the IQAC cell has been making untiring effort to motivate and guide faculty members, students, as well as non-teaching staff of the institution to achieve quality excellence.
Primary aim of IQAC
- To develop a system for conscious, consistent to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- Create a learner-centric environment.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through quality culture and best practices.
Objectives of IQAC
- Development and application of quality benchmarks / parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of TCSC.
- Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
- Acting as a nodal agency of the College for quality-related activities.
- Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
- Development and maintenance of Institutional database through MIS.
- Build an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication.
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) Of TCSC College, based on the quality parameters developed by NAAC and other assurance agencies.
- Collection and analysis of feedback responses from students, staff and other stakeholders on institutional processes of TCSC College.
- Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning.
Quality Policy
The College has a fully functional Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to continuously improve quality as ‘enhancement’ and sustain the good work of the institution. IQAC facilitate the process of internalization of the quality and play a catalytic role in performance improvement of the institution. The IQAC submit annual quality assurance reports to NAAC as self-reviewed progress reports. IQAC conduct external peer reviewed IQAC audit and Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) once in a year. IQAC creates internal awareness on quality issues and also establish credibility for the external quality evaluation. Management and the staff are committed to providing a holistic education to the students through an empowering process of participation of various stakeholders in adequate measure.
The management of TCSC is committed to impart a complete all-round education of high academic excellence by providing:
- The College has a policy and associated procedures for the assurance of the quality and standards of their programmes and awards. The College commits itself explicitly to the development of culture, which recognises the importance of quality, and quality assurance, in the work. The strategy, policy and procedures have a formal status and publicly available. The procedures include a role for students and other stakeholders.
- Approval, monitoring and periodic review of programmes and awards: The College has formal mechanisms for the approval, periodic review and monitoring of their programmes and awards.
- Assessment of students: Students are assessed using published criteria, regulations and procedures, which are applied consistently.
- Quality assurance of teaching staff: The College assures that the teaching staff are qualified and competent to do so. They are available to those undertaking external reviews and commented upon in reports.
- Learning resources and student support: College ensures that the resources available for the support of student learning are adequate and appropriate for each programme offered.
- Focusing on the academic standing and overall knowledge development of the students
- Opportunities for self-development in academic and personal spheres through better teaching / learning experiences
- Awareness to ethical and moral values among students. Opportunities for development of personality and character of students by disciplined habits, sustained work, devotion to duty and co-operative spirit through various value added and co-curricular activities.
- Collaborating with industry, other institutions and organizations for mutual benefit
- Promoting Research and Development programme for the growth of the economy
- The College would take adequate measures to provide enough resources, both human and financial, to achieve its vision and mission statement.
- Periodic reviews: External quality assurance of the College and/or programmes would be undertaken on a cyclical basis.
