ACTIVITIES 2021-22
National cadet corps with the motto “Unity and Discipline” has been carving the social moral values of the cadets enrolled. The unit has been working in the last 19 years with the same ideology. This year also, despite the pandemic situation, our cadets participated in many State and National level Camps and were awarded with certificates.
This year marked a special milestone for the college with the start of a new NCC unit for girls (SW) by 5 MAH Girls Battalion NCC with vacancy of 52 Cadets. In the first year 17 girl cadets were enrolled. The Girls unit will be supervised by care taker officer, Miss Shweta Sharma.
The following events were conducted during the year 2021-22.
VACCINATION DRIVE 2021
Vaccination drive was conducted in Thakur College of Science and Commerce on 16th , 17th and 28th June 2021. Vaccination drive was organized for college faculty, teaching , non teaching staff and the students. In this Campaign authorities were assisted by NCC Cadets. . The number of cadets who participated in the event was 16.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2021
International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2021 by Thakur college NCC Unit on Virtual Platform. Maj. N. D. Chaudhari, Cadets and Ex-Cadets participated in the session. All Cadets performed Yogasans as per Common Yoga Protocol 2021. Whole program was Organised Virtually at Zoom Platform. All Cadets of Units took pledge to make Yoga as the part of their daily life and took Quiz on Yoga Day.
AMARKANTH JHA FOUNDATION 2021
On 30th June 2021 Vaccination Drive and Blood Donation Camp was organized in Acharya Narendra Dev Vidya Mandir High School and Junior College by Amarkanth jha Foundation. Fifteen of Thakur college NCC Cadets had volunteered in this noble cause of helping College authorities to get people vaccinated while maintaining social distance and coordinating the crowd.
ANTI-PLASTIC DAY 2021
ANTI-PLASTIC DAY 2021 was conducted by Thakur college NCC Unit and NSS Volunteers on 12th July. The objective of the event was to make people aware about ill-effects of the use of plastic. Paper bags were distributed in local shops and shopkeepers were convinced to use paper bags instead of plastic bags. Event took place under the guidance of Maj. N. D. Chaudhari and NSS P. O. Prof. Sushil Shinde along with 14 NCC cadets who participated in the event.
KARGIL VIJAY DIVAS 2021
On 26th July 2021, 22nd Kargil Vijay Divas was Celebrated by Thakur College NCC Unit. Subedar Santosh Tanaji Rale was the Chief Guest and Prominent Speaker. Webinar was broadcasted live on Zoom and YouTube from Thakur college Studio. NCC Cadets honoured him with a “Guard of Honour”. Chief Guest was felicitated by Principal madam Dr. C. T. Chakraborty and Maj. N. D. Chaudhari.
STATUE CLEANING 2021
On 13th August 2021, Thakur College NCC unit conducted the Statue Cleaning event. Various Statues in Thakur Village Kandivali East, were cleaned by 29 Cadets who participated in the activity. The aim of the event was to create awareness on importance of Statues among the citizens.
WEBINAR ON NATIONAL INTEGRATION 2021
On 14th August 2021 National Integration Webinar was conducted by Thakur college NCC Unit. Honourable Chief Guest and Prominent speaker for the webinar was Col. Chandra Shekhar Unni (Retd.). He guided about the role of NCC Cadets in nation building. Nearly 500 Cadets of different college attended the webinar.
INDEPENDENCE DAY 2021
15th August 2021, the 73rd Independence Day of India was Celebrated by Cadets of Thakur College NCC in the Presence of Our Honorable Chief Guest Thakur Jitendra Singh Ji. The Parade was Demonstrated by Senior Under Officer Anup Tiwari. The Guard was Commanded by Junior Under Officer Himanshu Singh and the Contingent was Led by Corporal Shreya Poojary. The Flag was Hoisted by the Chief Guest in Presence of Principal, Teaching staff, Non-Teaching Staff. Cadets did a Commendable Job by Displaying their Unity and Discipline. Mask and other social distancing normal were followed.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP 2021
On 15th August 2021 on the occasion of Independence Day Blood Donation Camp was Conducted by Thakur College NCC and NSS unit. 13 Cadets of Thakur College NCC participated in this Event.
SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN 2021
On 10th and 13th of Oct 2021 Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was conducted at Sukurwadi Bus Depot and Borivali Railway Station with the motto to spread awareness about cleanliness in the public area and make surroundings neat and clean. Twenty cadets participated in the activity.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP 2021
On 30th Nov and 1st Dec 2021 in Thakur College of Science and commerce by NSS and NCC Unit. Event was led by Maj. N. D. Chaudhari and Prof. Sushil Shinde. Total 21 Cadets participated in the Event.
WREATH CEREMONY 2021
On 10th Dec 2021, Wreath Ceremony of Late C. D. S General Bipin Rawat was conducted by Thakur college NCC unit in College. Wreath was honoured to General Bipin Rawat by Thakur College of Science and Commerce Trustee, Mr. Jitendra Singh Thakur and Dr. C. T. Chakraborty. Shoakh Salami was given by Cadets.
REPUBLIC DAY 2022
On the Occasion of 73rd Republic Day of India, the prestigious even was celebrated in our college, by the cadets of Thakur College NCC unit.
The parade was demonstrated by SUO Anup Tiwari. Guards were commanded by JUO Tulsi Yadav. JUO Sachin Shukla was the Nishan Commander. L/CPL Anurag Pandey was the Band Commander.
Chief Guest was Mr. Jitendra Singh, Trustee of Thakur Educational Trust. Parade Inspection and Flag hoisting was Done by him.
PUNEET SAGAR ABHYAN
Beach cleaning activity was conducted by girls of 5 MAH BN NCC Unit on 15th Dec 2021 at Aksa beach. Fourteen cadets participated in the activity and collected 5kg of plastic wastes.
FIRING PRACTICE
Seven girl cadets of the NCC unit attended a firing practice organized by the 5 Mah Bn Girls NCC unit at US Club, Colaba on 9th April, 2022.
BEACH CLEANING
BEACH CLEANING was conducted on 15th April 2022 in order to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness to the people. Fifteen Cadets voluntarily participated in Beach cleaning activity carried out at Aksa beach, Malad.
CYCLE RALLY
A CYCLE RALLY was organised on 21st April 2022 to celebrate Earth Day. CDR. Vijay Pratap Singh flagged off the Event. Thirty-five girls and boys cadets started the rally from Thakur college and completed a circuit of Thakur village. Motive was to create environmental awareness among the people about the importance of nature.
