Report of Guest lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights”
On 18th April, 2022, Criteria-III (IQAC) and Research Committee, Thakur College of Science & Commerce organized an online guest lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights” Degree College Faculty members and P.G. Learners. Resource person Dr (Mrs.) Bhaskar Jyoti, Head, IPR Cell, Mahakaushal University, Jabalpur, M.P. addressed the Teachers & students. The participants were guided about following points:
What is IPR like Patent, Copyrights, Designs, Trademarks, Geographical Indications and various patent specifications.
IPC Act, Industrial Design, Indian Patent Procedure, Documents required for patent registration, International patent procedures, Patent Cooperation treaty.
The importance of documenting ideas properly and its presentations.
The session included presentation by the resource person. Also the queries by the participants about the topic were addressed.
About 77 Participants attended the session on online mode due to COVID 19 Pandemic.

Report of workshop on "IPR, Incubation & Patents"
Patent and IPR Cell, in collaboration with Department of Information Technology and IQAC, Thakur College of Science & Commerce, organized an Online workshop on "IPR, Incubation & Patents" on 9th October, 2021 for Undergraduate, post graduate students and faculty members. The session was divided into two sessions, for the learners of UG and PG at 11:00 am and at 2:30 pm for degree faculty members. Resource person Adv. (Dr.) Suryakant Patil, Director, PSP-IP, Patent Attorneys and Ministry of Education IIC Start-Up mentor, addressed the participants during the session. About 300 participants attended the session on online mode due to COVID 19 Pandemic.

What is IPR & Indian Patent Laws
Trade marks, copyright,, patents, industrial design rights and trade secrets.
Do’s and don’ts of protecting the intellectual property of patent.
Patent process in India, stages for a patent and other factors in general.
Advantages of IPR and case studies.
Protection and enforcement of Intellectual property rights.
The session included power point presentation and queries about the topic were addressed by the resource person.

Guidance Session on "Preparation of Research Project proposal
and Funding Opportunities"
On the occasion of International Day of Scientific Culture, Research Committee, Thakur College of Science & Commerce, organized an Online guidance lecture on " Preparation of Research Project proposal and Funding Opportunities " on 27th September, 2021 for Faculty members of Degree College. Dr. Abhijit Yadav, Head, Department of Physics and IQAC Co-ordinator, Rajarshi Sahu Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous) Latur, was the Resource person.
Following points were mainly discussed :
Pre-planning, types of research projects, funding agencies.
Preparation of research projects, Standard heads in proposal and types of the grant available.
Successful research proposals should communicate the researcher’s knowledge of the field and convey the emergent nature of the research design.
Practical and conceptual aspects important for writing competitive grant proposals .
