Department of Botany announces Fungal Photography Competition 2026

In celebration of World Fungus Day 2026, the Department of Botany at Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Kandivali East, Mumbai), in collaboration with the Association of Fungal Biologists, is hosting a free Fungal Photography Competition centered on the theme "Celebrating Fungal Diversity for a Sustainable Future." Running from September 1 to September 25, 2026, the contest invites nature enthusiasts across three categories—Undergraduate students (ages 20–22), Postgraduate students (ages 23–30), and Faculty or Scientists (ages 30–40)—to capture the vibrant beauty and ecological importance of fungi in their natural habitats. To participate, submit a single JPEG entry (under 20 MB) containing both a geotagged and non-geotagged photo, along with the date, location, camera specifications, assigned category code, and a original caption, to fungalphotography2026@gmail.com before the September 25 deadline. All registered entries will receive e-certificates, with top prizes awarded to winners in each category, so grab your camera, scan the registration QR code, and help showcase the hidden kingdom of fungi!
