Launch of Futurepreneurs Club
E Cell Prerna with an objective of building an ecosphere for entrepreneurial mindset launched the Futurepreneurs Club on 22-072024 whereby learners from Thakur college will be enlisted for various entrepreneurship guidance sessions, field visits, networking opportunities and mentorship with the aim of forming their Start Up.Till now 64 learners have registered.
Guest Lecture by Saurabh Sinha
With an objective to provide an exposure to learners about entrepreneurship E Cell organised a guest lecture on 12th Aug 2024 . Famed social entrepreneur Mr Saurav Sinha, Social Entrepreneur, Co-Founder and Managing Partner , M/s Reinlabs enthused learners about the lively examples of entrepreneurship which we around us. He provided a direction, thought process and attitude of the entrepreneurs. 254 learners attended the session.
Offline Workshop on entrepreneurship
E Cell Prerna in association with MakeIntern and E Cell of IIM Kolkata organised an 18 hour offline workshop at the college from 12th to 14th September 2024 for the learners of BCom (Entrepreneurship) with an objective to provide participants an exposure with a practising entrepreneur Mr Gaurav Vashisht and imbibe in them concepts over and above their regular syllabus. Learners participated in the workshop.A competition was organised at the end and 5 students were selected to participate in the National B Plan championship at IIM Bangalore.
Orientation cum Guidance Session
E Cell Prerna organised an orientation cum guidance session on 21st Sep 2024 and discussed the steps to be ideally taken for the entrepreneurship journey and how the Incubation centre may help them in carrying their entrepreneurship dreams forward. 33 learners participated in the session which also showed videos of learners who had participated in the Statup Mahakumbh at New Delhi in March 2024.
IDEATION Competition
With an objective to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship, E Cell organised IDEATION Competition on 28.09.2024. To provide a professional touch, existing successful StartUps founders, Gaurav Sharma and Chirag Dodiya were invited to appraise the student presentations. 12 teams of learners with ideas from streams of Science and Commerce participated in the contest.
Investor Meet
E Cell Prerna organised an exclusive Investor Meet with the enthusiastic students on 28th October 2024. Entrepreneur Mr Gaurav Jain interacted with 18 learners at the Incubation Centre of the college and guided them on the different aspects of their fields of entrepreneurship. He also provided networking opportunities to the interested learners.
Panel Discussion on Skilling
E Cell Prerna hosted a Panel discussion in association with the Board of Apprentice Training and Abhinav Institute of Technology and Management organised a panel discussion at Seminar Hall of Thakur college of Science and Commerce on 14th Nov 2024 about the skilling and apprenticeship programs of the government. The distinguished dignitaries present were : Mr. Nikhil C. Gangde - Asst. Director (B.O.A.T, W.R. Mumbai), Mr. Atul Kharche - Secretary (A.I.T.M.), Mr. Vikram Shetty - C.E.O. (A.I.T.M.), Ms. Kavita - Director (Eureka Outsourcing), Dr. C. T. Chakraborty - Principal (T.C.S.C.), Mr. Affan Ansari - Business Development Manager (A.I.T.M.). Mr Abhijit Ray, convenor of E Cell participated and contributed in the panel discussion. The audience included 26 representatives from the different industries and Human Resources Consulting firms.
Industrial Visit to TiE Global Summit, Bangalore
With an objective to give learners an exposure beyond the college, an Industrial Visit was arranged for 11 students to participate in the TiE Global Summit at Bangalore hosted by Bangalore chapter of TiE Global. The 3 day event from 9th Dec to 11th Dec 2024 was marked by high profile panel discussions, seminars, and an exhibition of the Start UPs from all over India at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). The exposure provided students a first hand view of the Start Up ecosystem in India and developed networking with them for future mentorship.
National Start Up Day
To celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship in youth, along with India, E Cell observed “National Start Up Day” on 16th January 2025. A series of events were organized. The event was inaugurated by respected Principal Dr (Mrs) Chaitali Chakraborty. The events, included launch of HACKATHON wherein the teachers were involved in providing problem statements for the future entrepreneurs and Prerna Mela.
Prerna Mela
As part of National Start Up day celebrations, Prerna Mela, an exhibition of student projects was organised on 16th January 2025. Overall 14 student projects were exhibited by learners from the department of BMS, BIM, BFM, BAF, B Com, Physics, CS, Biotechnology participated. . Respected Principal madam, Vice principal Dr S Ajagekar took keen interest in speaking to each student which enthused them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
RTMSSU ideation competition
E Cell Prerna with an objective to provide learners a platform to listen to reputed entrepreneurs and showcase their ideas to compete with other learners from the entire state of Maharashtra for an idea presentation contest in association with RTMSSU facilitated participation in ideation contest on 17th and 18th Jan 2025 at their incubation centre at Vidyavihar.One team out of 5 participating teams qualified to the second round.
IGNITE
With an objective to provide learners an international exposure in the field of entrepreneurship, E Cell Prerna in association with M/s Unikaushall organised an Entrepeneurship Masterclass titled IGNITE on 18th Feb, 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The notable resource persons were Alexander Uttenforder, Global StartUp mentor and serial entrepreneur and Ashir Nelson, Marketing and Digital Transformation Expert. The learners gained invaluable insights from the interactive sessions which included providing a global perspective of the StartUp ecosystem. 336 learners participated in the event.
National B Plan Championship
A team of 5 learners from BCom (Entrepreneurship) represented college in the National B Plan Championship held at IIM Bangalore from 23rd Feb to 24th Feb 2024 . 61 teams from all over India participated in the contest. Our college ranked 5th (All over India) with the idea of wastage reduction of dental care disposable items in hotels.
Shaksham 2.0
E Cell Prerna with an objective of upskilling the learners conducted an AI assisted National Employability Test titled Shaksham 2.0 on 28th February 2025 in association with M/s Immarticus. Resource person, Mr Niraj Singh, guided the 144 participants from the final year of the BBI and BIM programs, in giving an MCQ based test which analysed the students from different perspectives and provided their SWOT analysis based on the results. The assessment also guided them which type of jobs will be most suited for them.
Interaction with Entrepreneurs
E Cell Prerna with an objective of providing student entrepreneurs an opportunity to understand the journey of entrepreneurship with students organised an interaction with student entrepreneurs Mr Apurva Raut and Mr Mayur Patil, from Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University at the college on 11th March 2025. 10 learners participated in the interaction.
