Students’ Council of TCSC is a robust student body which conducts many activities in the campus throughout the year. The council encourages students to participate in the decision- making process that shape their future and progress of college by making them part of CDC (College Development committee). The council works in the interest of the college, keeping vision of the college in sight and strive for its excellence. Lady representatives of the college is an integral part of Women Development Cell who undertake many activities to empower girls. SC encourages creative pursuit of the students. Opportunity to organise and participate in various activities help students to hone their management and leadership skill.
SC is a statutory body and is formed in the beginning of the academic year. The council has academic toppers of different faculties and representatives from NSS, NCC, SPORTS and CULTURAL. Lady Representatives are selected by the head of the institution depending on their contribution to the college and their leadership quality. General Secretary (GS) is elected from among the members who file their name to contest election. GS along with members of Students’ council and under the guidance of teacher members organise and lead different activities throughout the year.
The Council organises Garba, Christmas fervour etc to encourage students to get involved in celebration of festivals notwithstanding their caste, creed and religion. To bring some fun and frivolity along with their academic pursuit, the council organises various days like traditional Day, Vasant Panchami Day, Rose Day etc. On ‘Being Generous Day’ students practice gratitude and kindness to the less fortunate member of the society by donating generously. Students have also taken initiative to reach out to the street children and teach few life skills which might be helpful to them.
Council members took initiative to maintain cleanliness in and around college premises contributing to the spirit of Swach Bharat. They have initiated cleanliness drive in the campus by urging management to place more dustbins in the campus and successfully brought behavioural change among students who started using dustbin more than littering.
LIVEMINT is organised to give platform to the students to discuss current affairs and voice their opinion on various burning issues from different sphere of life. The students gather news under the heads like economic, political, social, technological, sports and world news. The news are read out and discussed.
Last but not the least, students are the future torch bearers and nation builders. As a citizen of a free democratic young country, forming & voicing opinion, influencing and persuading collectively is highly demanded skill . Students’ Council of TCSC recognises this individuality of the students and give them an opportunity to speak up in YOUTH PARLIAMENT forum. Youth Parliament is a mock Parliamentary session where students mimic the debates in our upper and lower houses of parliament and debate on topics which are contemporary and of importance to the society.
