The Department of Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance offers an interdisciplinary programme that integrates mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data analytics, and risk management with modern actuarial and quantitative finance applications. It aims to produce graduates who are analytically rigorous, technologically proficient, and professionally prepared to contribute to the insurance, financial services, investment, risk management, and data-driven industries. The learners develop a strong foundation in probability, statistics, financial mathematics, economics, actuarial modelling, and computational tools, along with specialized knowledge in areas such as life insurance, pensions, investment management, financial risk modelling, derivatives, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and sustainable finance, guided by experienced faculty, qualified actuaries, finance professionals, and industry practitioners.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the three-year degree course of B.Sc. (Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance) must fulfil the following requirements:
- Must have passed Class 12 (H.S.C.) or equivalent examination in any stream.
- Must have studied Mathematics in Class 12.
- Must have secured a minimum aggregate of 40% marks or equal grade.
