REPORT ON TRAINING SESSION FOR ZOOPLANKTON IDENTIFICATION USING STEREO-MICROSCOPE
Date:29/06/2025
Venue: TCSC campus, 1st floor Zoology lab.
Conducted by: Ms. Prachi Hatkar
An engaging and informative session was conducted by Ms. Prachi Hatkar, where she guided students through an in depth understanding of zooplankton and demonstrated the use of stereo-microscope. Her teaching approach was interactive, visually enriched, and practical-oriented, helping students grasp both theoretical and practical knowledge. 12 students were present for her session; the session started from 9 in the morning and ended by 3;30 pm in the evening. She taught us the tiny animal like organism that float on water are important part of aquatic food chain and are usually microscopic in size. She gave hands on demonstration of how to use stereo microscope, a crucial tool in observing zooplankton and other small organisms. We got idea about practical skills in handling and observing microscope organism using the stereo microscope. A clear conceptual understanding of zooplankton and their ecological role was understood. Students got curiosity about exploring aquatic life and microscopic organisms further.
